Avoid: They Do Not Care About Your Health & No Support When Needed!

I've been insured with them since 2022 and never had any major incidents where I needed them besides the occasional doctor's visit. Now I had an accident and needed surgery and experienced a huge lack of response, understanding or empathy and of course a lack of refunds, because no one is even looking at my 12 (!) open submissions! They advertise upfront cost coverage, and I wanted to use that for a second time now, but it didn't work either time. The first time, they claimed the cost estimate was missing. The second time, I had everything ready and uploaded on time, but then they couldn't find the documents internally and I had to pay for my surgery as well as for a very expensive call to Luxembourg, after which I was just as clueless as before (while being in pain). Generally speaking, they couldn't care less about your health!! I would never recommend them to anyone – horrible (=no) service, I absolutely do not feel like I'm in good hands here!

Ich wollte gerne wieder mich versichern lassen, weil ich als digitale Nomade unterwegs bin. Aber dieses Unternehmen schaut auf sehr kurzfristigen Gewinn und wird somit verlieren gegenüber der Konkurrenz.

an insurance company which does not look after its clients

We were insured with Foyer Global for many years when suddenly they cancelled the group insurance. While we are getting older and have meanwhile some medical conditions we cant find alternatives anymore. Feels like daylight robbery.

Unterirdische Kommunikation. Keine kompetenten Ansprechpartner für Notfälle. Vorabanfragen zur Leistungsübernahme eines dringend benötigten Klinikaufenthalts werden Wochenlang nicht bearbeitet. Eingereichte Leistungsanträge verschwinden aus dem System. On Top wird man noch angemault, wenn man angegebene Servicenummern anruft, von deren System falsch verbunden wird und in der Notfallhotline rauskommt, die einem dann noch nicht mal Helfen kann.
Ich hab ja schon vieles erleb, Aber solch ein Dilettantismus, da es ja um nicht weniger als Gesundheit geht ist gelinde gesagt, …..

Low level of reimbursement, lack of transparency & communication

Because I have frequently moved between countries, I have been insured with various private health insurers over the past 10 years. This has been the most disappointing experience I have had, for the following reasons:

1. Extensive documentation requirements with no outcome: A significant amount of documentation is requested for claims. Considerable time and effort is then required to obtain these documents from doctors and clinics, yet even after providing everything requested, benefits are often not paid.

2. Unclear claims process: When claims are rejected, the explanations provided are vague and lack sufficient detail (or there is no explanation at all). It is often unclear why a claim has not been approved, which makes it difficult to understand or address the issue.

3. Inconsistent and poor communication: There is a noticeable lack of communication regarding claim outcomes. In several instances, no email notification was sent, and I only became aware of updates by logging into my account. On other occasions, emails were sent, but without any clear or consistent process.

Overall, I have never experienced such a low level of reimbursement combined with a lack of transparency and communication. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise against using Foyer Global Health.

Do not insure yourself with Foyer

Do not insure yourself with Foyer. This is the worst insurance company I've encountered.

I've had a policy with them for almost two years now. I'm just waiting for it to lapse so that I can switch to a different insurer.

To kick things off, the alarms already started going off when the renewal notice came in last year. I've paid them ahead of schedule with an annual payment of the policy (about 1300 euros). It took them about 2 months to find the transfer. The reminders about not paying on time kept on coming. Finally, the confirmation was given that the payment was found.

Fast forward about 6 months, I've contacted them to see if they could cover a surgical intervention regarding respiratory problems. My initial attempts to contact them through their electronic forms weren't answered. Then when I tried to call the "claims" phone number listed on their website I reached their emergency medical consultancy line. Which kind of insurance company provides wrong phone numbers which you cannot reach? The answer is: Foyer. Then, when they finally got back to me after some time over email, they requested me to provide them with no claims proof from my previous providers for the past 3 years, and the full information about my case. When I provided them the confirmations from the other providers, studies, and an evaluation from the ENT, their only reply was that the format of the no-claims from the insurers is wrong (not specifying which format they expect), and that I should now give them a no-claims proof for the past 5 years (originally they've asked for 3, remember?). When I asked them which format would they like the other insurers to respond in, I did not get any response, when I asked from a clarification on how did 3 turn into 5, I did not get any response. Some weeks later, I did get a different reply though, which appears like someone had an automated calendar reminder about me, saying that "without the proper documents provided we cannot continue processing your request". After sending them the required documents a week ago, I still did not get any useful response.

For the people in Foyer: I have chosen to be insured by you, meaning, I have put my faith and my trust in you to act as my healthcare provider. Instead, you are treating me as a fraudulent client. This is just inappropriate and is a grossly exploitative and abusive business tactics.

Do not insure yourself with Foyer. There are better companies out there, and with a small premium you could at least get a better product. Otherwise, you are probably better off absorbing the risk yourself. Money down the drain.

They try to avoid payments and don't give proper explanations.

SCAM

SCAM! AVOID!
1.- Cheap insurance but you get what you pay. AKA Nothing else than problems.
2.- They delayed a pre approval for 3 months, thankfully I could cover the cost myself.
3.- Because they could not avoid paying for the surgery they then came up with diagnosis that have never had. Asking me to sign exclusions of things that even my treating doctor said it's impossible an insurance can assess that without a proper clinical diagnosis (which they cant eprform online)
4.- Delays in refunds, changes in the dates of submitted claims. To the point that we submitted a claim on day 14th and because they want to delay refund they keep changing the date that w submitted. Mainly, adjusting information in their system to make it look good for them. - It happened 4 times in 5 months.
5.- Customer Service --> None to be seen. They don't reply, Phone number impossible. company is working on Europe time so if you are in Asia, forget it. Not a 24/7 even if they claim so. All seems to be a joke. oh and they don't speak english either on the phone (they picked it up once.... )
6.- I had to escalate to their CEO as I have never seen such an amount of inconsistencies, negligence and unprofessionalism in one single company.
7.- They then threatened me to cancel my policy if i didn't sign exclusions (which i never had been diagnosed with)
8.- They cancelled backdated (blessed in desguise)
9.- But kept my wife and son. So mainly they decided to split the contract at their wish.

Not just the worse insurer I have ever seen, but one of the worse companies I had to deal with in my life. Not even sure how they are still afloat.

They will probably reply to me with some sort of lie, just as they did below to my wife. but the system doesn't allow us to reply back. which is a pity.
Lesson: sometimes paying a bit more is worth it. and the difference doesnt justify the pain we went through in the last 6 months with Foyer.

La communication chez Foyer est…

La communication chez Foyer est lamentable. Le service client aux abonnés absent et pour les remboursement, je n'en parle même pas.
Il faut envoyer 4 mails pour espérer avoir une réponse et quand ils répondent, ça n'a aucun rapport avec votre question.

A total scam

A total scam. Only 7 months with them and breaking the contract for multiple issues. Lack of response , lack of refunds, intentionally change of submission dates in their system...a total NIGHTMARE from day one. Never had any single problem with our previous insurance company, only changed cause Foyer offered a better price. But it comes with plenty of issues and headaches. We even had to scalate to the government in order for them to refund us what was legally in the contract. Be AWARE.

PREDATORY PRACTICE: They tried to void my contract to avoid paying claims.


My experience with Foyer Global Health has been a nightmare. They are happy to take your money, but the moment you actually use the insurance, they turn against you.

The Strategy: After I submitted legitimate medical claims, Foyer didn't just deny them—they tried to legally "Void" (Nullity) my entire contract. They accused me of hiding medical information (which was false) specifically to avoid paying my invoices and to keep my premiums.

The Consequence:

They left me uninsured overnight with a medical condition, making it impossible for me to get full coverage elsewhere ("Loss of Insurability").

They refused to pay outstanding dentist and lab bills, leaving me liable for over €1,000. I am also now left with a potential surgery over 15K which they should be liable for.

They caused months of immense stress while I was traveling.

The Truth: I refused to be bullied. I sent a formal legal notice threatening court action. Suddenly, their tune changed. Within days of my legal threat, they admitted the contract was valid, refunded my pro-rata premiums, and paid the dentist and medical bills they previously refused.

The Verdict: If they were right, they wouldn't have paid. The fact that they paid proves they knew their accusation was baseless. They simply hoped I would be too scared or broke to fight back.

This is not "Health Insurance"; it is a liability. If you value your peace of mind, choose a reputable insurer, not Foyer.

Be careful - horrible experience

Be careful - they enjoying the payments from you but not willing to pay! Policy was cancelled by the insurer after premiums had been paid, following a retrospective exclusion raised after policy inception. Coverage was therefore effectively unusable. Despite this, no refund was offered after cancellation, with no meaningful consideration of the circumstances. Overall a very disappointing experience. I would like to add that the exclusion came out of a cortisone injection I had 2 years ago (which is common as a Semi-Professional Handball Player).

Title: AVOID. Watching my partner's year-long nightmare with this company.



My partner has been a customer of Globalhealth Foyer Group for over a year, and I have watched him go through an unbelievably awful experience from the very beginning. This is the most inefficient and unprofessional company he has ever had to deal with. Please read this before you let a loved one sign up with them.

First, their claims process is a complete circus. It took my partner over six months just to get a reimbursement. He was given endless excuses, from "their portal didn't work" to "staff wasn't available." He had to talk to at least 15 different people, often calling from overseas at his own expense, just to get a simple claim processed. Their staff is clearly overworked, underqualified, and completely disorganised. They constantly missed his emails, asked him for documents that had already been sent, lost track of conversations, and even sent incorrect payment amounts.

Second, do not expect any support. They DO NOT guide their customers or propose any clinics or healthcare providers. You are completely on your own. This became terrifying when my partner had an emergency. Their response was to refuse to cover his expenses, claiming they needed his entire medical history from a country he lived in years ago. This is a classic delay tactic to avoid paying. It's not convenient, and in an emergency, it's dangerous.

He was forced to hire a lawyer and go through mediation just to get the reimbursement he was owed. The moment that was settled, a new issue started.

Now, they are demanding he pay a "bonus" of nearly 2,500 EUR because he supposedly didn't declare a health condition (for an asthma spray he used once 7 years ago). This was never asked about in their original questionnaire. To make it worse, they are threatening to "get rid of him" and cancel his policy if he doesn't pay. He is now back in mediation with them for this issue.

This company's business model seems to be built on delaying and denying, hoping people will give up. They are a borderline company, at the limit of scamming people. I feel for the staff who work there, as even the managers are clearly not trained to handle customer issues.

Save yourself and your loved ones the stress, the money, and the risk. Avoid this company at all costs.

Unseriös und unprofessionell

Krankenkasse drückt sich vor Zahlungen für Standardleistungen.Bin seit Jan 2025 dort versichert. Habe 2 Rechnungen eingereicht. Bei beiden Rechnungen musste ich Berichte von Ärzten schreiben lassen und Laborergebnisse einreichen. Die Diagnose in den Rechnungen mussten mit ausführlichen Berichten gerechtfertigt werden. Das bei absoluten Routine-Vorfällen. Musste Tage in die Kommunikation investieren kämpfen, das die Rechnungen doch anerkannt werden. Total unseriös. Werde kündigen. Vorsicht vor dieser unseriösen Firma.

Rückerstattung zuviel bezahlter Beiträge

Das Unternehmen reagiert nur, wenn überhaupt, nach der Veröffentlichung von schlechten Bewertungen. Obwohl ich als Referenznummer immer meine Vertragsnummer hinterlassen habe, wird versucht die Bewertung zu löschen. Weil angeblich niemand weiß um was es geht. Schriftlich werden Falschinformationen, in meinem Fall über Rückerstattungsfristen, herausgegeben. Abweichend von den AGBs. Unter aller Kritik.
