Szczegóły produktu

‘Frighteningly logical, believable, and grimly prophetic ... Clarke is a master.’
  1. The Los Angeles Times
It is the late 1970s and the United States and Soviet Republic are on the cusp of entering outer space. However, just as space travel is within their grasp, alien spaceships descend over the earth’s major cities ... five years later, the Overlords have taken over the world. American illustrator Grace Aldrich elevates the tension and uneasiness in the narrative to present the strange new reality in six unnerving illustrations, while her striking binding design features the pivotal character, Jan Rodricks.

Childhood’s End has always been my favourite novel ever. It’s also the only book of which I own more than one copies, including an old one published in my year of birth (1966). So I decided that my collection deserved this luxurious illustrated edition. I didn’t regret this decision at all: the quality of printing, binding and packaging is outstanding, and delivery was swift and correct. I even re-read the book once again to enjoy this wonderful edition even more.

Decades after publishing, this is still a classic of science fiction.

I only bought as it was a good price for the book. It came neatly packed and wrapped well. Love the illustrations and the quality paper and cover.

I first read this book many years ago and I have always liked it. When I saw that a Folio edition had finally been released I knew that I had to get it and I have not been disappointed.

Very happy with the Arthur C. Clarke line from Folio Society, and hoping to see more of them. Book and slipcase are both well illustrated. Only quibble is the way the title was printed on the spine is a bit hard to read.

Very nice indeed, beautifully made and presented; complements “2001” and “Rama” perfectly.
