Excellent product
Excellent product, works very well to block almost any unwanted action. Easily the best of its kind for this sort of thing. You can even block specific Windows Explorer searches and much more. I'd highly recommend this, having tried many of these types of apps.

Too buggy
I have been a user of focusme for quite a few years now. It is very feature rich and has the best features of any similar app that i have tried, by far.
But what use is that when the app is so buggy? I'm not sure if it's the same for everyone else, but I am always having problems with it on my mac. Plans freezing/crashing and therefore not applying - meaning that everything I had blocked becomes accessible, time limits not counting down, daily timelimits exceeded for the day even when I've only just logged in for the first time that day, the app not opening on login (even when it's set to). I have some plans that require a very long random character password to unlock them - on several occasions, I have painstakingly entered this password correctly, more than once, only for the app to just do nothing & not stop my plan. Sometimes when focusMe tries to close something on my blocklist and it still thinks that thing is still open after closing it and it therefore goes on a rampage trying to close everything else (things that aren't even blocked) on my computer. Recently, the app was pretty much unusable for me for a month straight due to the above mentioned issues, meaning everything that I had blocked was accessible, and I'm starting to have the same issues again.
I have raised the issues I have with the team who are very responsive, knowledgable and helpful and some things have been fixed in the past, but the issues usually start to occur again not long after, and it becomes incredibly exhausting and very time consuming to report these issues and follow/implement their instructions or attend calls with them to discuss the issues. I understand that the team needs to know what the problems are, but it's just not really what I expect to be have to be doing repeatedly to get basic features of a paid app to work.
I don't doubt that it's an insanely complicated app to build and must constantly be updated to be supported on new OS version releases, but in my experience, this app is not really fit for production and can be buggy beyond belief and for a paid application I would expect some of its most basic features to just work properly.
I want this application to succeed, the team is very nice and the features are just amazing but something really needs to change and I hope this review helps in making that change.

Practical, consistent tool with great support
I have been using FocusMe for over four years, and it has been one of the most effective tools I have found for staying focused and disciplined. Excellent software and outstanding support
I have been using FocusMe for several years, it is a very good distraction/website blocker, and has been key in improving my productivity. It has a lot of features so you can block exactly what, when, and how you like.
Most other website blockers are too easy to bypass, but FocusMe has lots of options to make it very tough to bypass.
The support is outstanding. I found a bypass method that the current version of FocusMe could not deal with. I told the support team and they updated the software to cover the bypass method I found, so I can continue to use the software effectively.

Focus Me has been a game changer
Focus Me has been a game changer. It is really simple to use, and unlike other methods of blocking apps I have tried, it allows you to completely block certain apps for a set amount of time. But you can also block them using a password, or just until you manually unblock it - so there are levels for all different levels of procrastinator! I absolutely love it - I wouldn't have finished my master's without it!
The team is always on hand and are always lovely and helpful. I have used FM for around 4 years, and I can't imagine being without it. Thank you!!

The software UI won't run, and can not be deleted
The app won't open after downloading and install on Mac OSX Sonoma. The process doesn't show up in force quit and can not be closed from activity monitor either. The files can't be unloaded from terminal and the app can now not be closed, opened or uninstalled. I wish I never download or installed this.
UPDATE: Jon was quick to respond to this and hoped on a zoom to help uninstall the software but was not able to fix it and get it to work. He seems like a good guy but his software is not something I'm ever going to trust. I tried to install this on my PC and it will not accept my login credentials and throws an error. He offered me a free year but that doesn't mean anything to me since his software won't run on any of my systems in a reliable trustworthy way. A software that demands such a high level of control over a device should be watertight. No bugs and well tested. It seems like he never even bothered to try this on a apple silicon machine and these have been out for five years now. Customer support response times are impressive but that doesn't make up for the bugs and problems in the software.

As discussed, I am now working on replicating this compatibility issue on an Apple Silicon system to ensure it is fully resolved in a new app release very soon.

Best self blocking app
I've been using FocusMe for the last 5 years, and after trying many distraction blocking apps, I can confidently say this is the best one. The customer support is outstanding they’re responsive and quick to fix issues, even when it involves adding new features. For example, I once reported that Comet Browser wasn’t working with FocusMe, and they released an update within a week!
