Focal point fire suites

Bought Elvington electric fire 13th Nov 2023, all the wood chipped and cracked phoned focal point who then told, me go back b&q. So after talking to them on phone, drove there, they refunded me the money, but reordered another, then told ring the number on paperwork, so I did, the lady on the phone told me yes yes it come you on 27th pick up damaged 28th,no take damaged one with you. Anyway get to Friday no text or call, so phoned number no not coming till 8th Dec, I argued over the phone, told them what was sd and told her, I have a witness. Someone ring you back, never happened, so I ring on the Monday, to be told they coming on 30th collect damaged goods and bring mine, I sent 2 emails, one with photos of damage, and other about being messed about with dates to collect and bring, no reply nothing. I then get text say coming 28th between 7am and 9am. Would not recommend Focal point to any one, useless company, think trading standards need to see reviews, wish I had checked reviews first.

RD270 Rubbish

We have an RD270 Fridge Freezer in our Willerby Sheraton 18 months in and we have pooling of water at bottom of fridge!
We have gone through the troubleshooting no problems as far as blocked drainage goes and temperature is set correctly so contacted Focal point no help whatsoever just told to contact a white goods engineer!

I ordered the fire via B&Q

I ordered the fire via B&Q. There was a slight delay in the delivery due to parts not being available. Also, they advised me that the fire was being delivered on a specific day and it didn't arrive. When I called they said there was a delay and it would be delivered the next day but nobody called me to advise me of this.
The fire was eventually delivered and the fitter fitted the fire. When completing the install he told me that the radiant panels were missing and a washer. I called focal point and they promptly send the parts. Unfortunately though, the gass fitter charged me £216 with a return call costing me a further £100 to fit the missing parts and authorise the install. My issue is that focal point tried to blame me by saying I should have checked the booklet to confirm all the parts were there. Firstly, the parts werent mentioned in the booklet. I pointed out that the fire was checked by Focal Point, once to identify the missing parts and a second time to include the missing parts so I am so furious that they are trying to tell me it was my fault for not realising the parts were missing. I said it wasn't good enough that they left the parts out and they replied "we do our best". Speaks for itself, I won't be buying from them anymore.

Brilliant delivery service

I ordered an electric fire from focal point and the delivery driver Dean was brilliant.
He helped me sort a time to make sure that I was home and waited for me to arrive.
Dean went to the effort of taking it upstairs to my maisonette and was so friendly and professional.
Thank you so much Dean you have made me one happy customer

I have a 4 year old willerby manor van…

I have a 4 year old willerby manor van and yes it has a focal point fridge freezer , yes guess it’s about to stop working as making whining noises . So far 4 other people have had to change same fridges , Focal point customer service’s are useless as all they say it’s out of warranty and it be at my expense, surely willerby need to look at a more reliable manufacturer then focal point . So many bad forums and reviews against focal point, now I got look at buying a new fridge freezer to replace , one thing for sure it wil definitely not be Focal point

My fridge freezer was in our brand new…

My fridge freezer was in our brand new Willerby static caravan.
It didn’t last 4 years.
It stopped cooling/freezing, some liquid dripped onto the floor.
Our local repair shop advised us that it was unreliable.
I rang Focal Point, they just said it was out of its guarantee, not bothered it had only lasted 4 yrs.
Avoid this product.

I bought my holiday home 11th June 2022…

I bought my holiday home 11th June 2022 and the fridge has been declared in fit for use and iv just had to buy a new fridge because I was two weeks out of warranty for the localpoint why they think it’s good enough product to last one year is shocking I’m now £444 out of pocket replacing such a poor product

Focal point appalling customer services

We bought our holiday home with an intergrated focal point fridge freezer had it 6yrs with no problems now its starting to switch off and defrost the suddenly restart temp going up and down on both. I am unable to find anyone to repair it. Unable to get any satisfaction from customer services. What a joke going to purchase a new one but it definitely will not be a focal point one. Via a contact agent a replacement would cost somewhere in the region of £800 nit a chance

Fridge freezer rip off

Our fridge freezer broke down after 2 years. Focalpoint won't repair it themselves and when I asked local tradesmen they told me it's not worth repairing. They tell me this company's products are notoriously unreliable and poor quality.

Purchased Focal Point Lulworth gas…

Purchased Focal Point Lulworth gas fire from Screwfix on 12 Dec 22 local gas eng installed, my wife tried the fire in the evening and sliced her hand open on razor sharp edges on front plate.
Checked over fire and really poorly made sharp edges and self tapping screws not holding anything in place. Decided for safety's sake to have removed.
Went back to Screwfix to return they would not take back as Focal point said it had been fitted so unable to return.
Fire is now in the best place for it, the local tip.
If I could give minus 5 stars I would, do not waste your money

Unprofessional

I first called the Glasgow show room and, spoke to Michael, with a specific enquiry. I was somewhat surprised when he suggested a virtual survey. I followed up with visit to the showroom again discussed with Michael in more specific terms. I suggested a survey at my home but accepted a virtual. The virtual took place and lasted 4 mins 55 seconds including initial pleasantries. I gave the surveyor, Mark, my opening dimensions and he stated that my height was not suitable. I informed him that I had two in house surveys both of which have offered to install the fire with the necessary minor adjustments. There was no offer to visit, not interested. These quotations are from two reputable companies with excellent reviews here on trust pilot. When I look at reviews of this company I’m not surprised they are so bad and scathing. Extremely unprofessional

Sent 8 emails in regard to a faulty…

Sent 8 emails in regard to a faulty fridge on a lodge bought in March 2022, less then 5 months old the door has fallen off. After ringing and emailing Focal, they said we have overloaded the fridge and broken it. They have said this without coming and seeing the fridge! Now no response from them.

RD270 FRIDGE FREEZER
This is second fridge freezer as the first one was faulty from day one! The freezer was defrosting 24/7. Focal point who make the freezer just fob you off and do not want to know. So had to complain to the caravan supplier who after many weeks of complaining replaced for a new one. Now exactly one year on I have the same fault, the freezer is defrosting! The cost of the unit is €700 which is expensive for a cheaply made poor quality fridge freezer! I would stay away from any Focal point product!

Amazing service from Andrew and Focal…

Amazing service from Andrew and Focal Point. Purchased Gas Fire from B and Q and unfortunately shortly afterwards experienced problem with lighting. Contacted the company who (as they had promised) sent a new burner unit and paid for my Gas Engineer to replace the faulty unit. Communication was excellent and promised action was speedy. Superb service, thank you Focal Point Fires

Very disappointed

Having purchased replacement coals for my fire that to be honest weren’t exactly cheap. I realised that the coals aren’t suitable for my fire but despite e-mailing customer services twice asking if I can return them to swap for an alternative, focal point have failed to respond to any messages. Not at all satisfied

Think twice before buying .... Safety Issue

We brought a matrix for our gas fire from DHS but the gas engineer wouldn't sign off the fire as he advised it was the wrong part. After speaking to DHS and Focal Point they both confirmed it was the correct part. It's no fault of DHS as Focal Point had changed the design of the product over the years but didn't change the part number. We've had multiple different gas engineers check the fire and as the old matrix was straight at the front and the new one is curved they say it's not safe and were not willing to sign off the fire. Four separate gas engineers have refused but Focal Point are still saying that the product is fine. We're now left with no choice but to buy a brand new fire. Doesn't seem that safety is high on their priority.

Good customer service, bad experience with delivery partner

Their customer service has been great but their delivery company and quality control has let them down. I’m now on my 4th fire from them. One was obviously not checked by the manufacturer as it was faulty but they replaced it with ease. The other three replacements was not actually due to them. They use DPD and each time the parcel company had damaged the fire in transit- One of the times they didn’t delivery it and just marked it as damaged at depot. They’re leaving the fires on peoples doorsteps, ignoring the safe place request, so you have the risk of them going missing and they have not turned up to collect the damaged fire, as pre arranged for yesterday. I’ve had no contact or update and had to arrange cover at work for the collection. The company would’ve got more stars but their choice in delivery company is letting their customers down. I can not be the only customer that has had issues.
I would’ve have ordered the last fire but it was purchased through a third company and I didn’t realise it was coming from Focal point.
