It took so long to come from the UK

It took so long to come from the UK, the tracking showed it left and then went back to the UK before finally coming to NZ.

The item was originally sourced from the UK, but it didn’t arrive at our warehouse as expected. We had to reorder it, which caused the extra delay and confusion in the tracking.

Sometimes you get a surprise.

Order processed and updates provided to advise progress. The book arriving was the correct book, however, I believed I had ordered a different cover version. I was disappointed that it was a different cover. The book was John Steinbeck 'Travels with Charlie'. The cover I wanted had John Steinbeck with his dog Charlie. The cover I received had a map of the United States. Not a huge deal, but I was disappointed.

Kept me totally informed

Kept me totally informed on progress of delivery. This was particularly important as there was a delay in my book arriving from USA. Your communication was greatly appreciated

Excruciating experience, twice over. Buy elsewhere.

The book prices can be very competitive here and I don’t usually have any delivery delays, but my last 2 experiences with Fishpond have been less than satisfactory.

I ordered on 11 April and was initially given an estimated arrival time (4wks) for my 2 books, which I was just OK with because they were niche.

However, that deadline has well and truly passed. In-fact, by 22 May it had been 6 weeks even though they were being sourced from an Australian supplier! I was also told that they cannot estimate a delivery time???

I had to cancel my previous order because it also took an eternity! (Although the process to cancel is pretty straight forward.)

So if you need a book promptly, maybe write it yourself or go and see your local bookshop. If they don’t have it, maybe they can source it more quickly.

***UPDATE 29 May, 7 weeks and counting***
Just got an email saying the sender (Fishpond) has allocated a tracking number…not sent or dispatched yet, just had a number allocated, woohoo!🫤
I could’ve sailed (using actual wind) to Australia, had a 3 week holiday, purchased the 2 books and then sailed home in the time it’s taken for Fishpond to send me my 2 books😑 Hyep…I should’ve cancelled at the 4 week mark and purchased locally😞

DON’T BOTHER TO BUY FROM FISHPOND UNLESS YOU DON’T MIND WAITING AN EXCRUCIATINGLY LONG TIME!

Last 3 orders never arrived

Unfortunately the last 3 items I've ordered never arrived; they were refunded but I won't be ordering from Fishpond again. It's a shame because I have received orders from them in the past and at good prices.
