Absolutely amazing service.
A Sunday of course toilet blocked in upstairs bathroom. Larry arrived on time spent a whole sorting out blockage. Explained and showed everything he was doing perfect service very pleased.

Glen and Luke were literally fantastic unblocked the most most grim situation in my complex ancient drains felt the cost was beyond reasonable in that I have paid way over this in the past - what a knowledgeable team helped by the quick response on the phone scrap AI he is your solution only trouble was I did not completely understand plumbing but he is a “plumbing wisperer” highly recommended

If I could give this company 1000000 stars, that is what I would do. Yesterday I had an awful blockage and my landlord refused to help. I came across a company called “Unblockers.net” and my call was answered quickly and by a lovely, helpful person who organised for someone to come out within a few hours, and the gentleman immediately put my mind at ease about costs. The person on the phone (I think he was called Jim) couldn’t have been more helpful. I soon received a call from a plumber named Taylor Sealy from “First Local Services” (24/7 drainage experts) who told me he’d be with me in around an hour. To the ladies who live on their own (I am in south Gloucestershire), if you ever have any fears about having to find a plumber, I cannot recommend Taylor highly enough. He is one of the most kind and thoughtful young men I’ve ever met. He immediately assessed my situation and could see that I have difficult mobility issues, and he was so thoughtful and aware of my situation and what needed to be done. He looked at my situation “holistically”. When it became clear that it wasn’t going to be an easy job, it became his mission to see the problem through to the end. We had to gain access to my bedridden neighbours flat which meant dealing with her carers and my building management, and he was so professional and patient. I am so impressed by this company and can’t speak highly enough of them and the people they have as their representatives. Thank you for sending Taylor to help me. He really is such a wonderful, polite, caring and hardworking person and he is a real asset to your company, and I’m so grateful for everything he did.

Called First Local Services at 9am and Mick T arrived by 11am. He quickly identified the problem and worked really hard to clear the stubborn blockage in our outside drains with rods and the jet washer. Flushed through thoroughly and checked everything was flowing as it should be. Highly recommended - would use this service again if needed. Many thanks!

Very poor. Had a blocked drain. An engineer came out but couldn't fix it with his long waggly tool but didn't seem to have any other equipment. Used our plunger, sprayed dirty water everywhere, used our cleaning towels, broke the seal around the plug hole. Said he couldn't fix the blockage (didn't fix the plug) and said that someone else would come in 3 days with some other equipment. Made a half-hearted effort at cleaning up, changed us £275 and left. Obviously I cancelled the follow-up appointment, called someone proper, with proper equipment who fixed the issue for less than half the price.

I had a blocked downpipe which I was unsure who were the best person people to approach. Gutters/roofers did not deal with this so I turned to drainage (who I had thought dealt with blocked sewage drains etc).

I called 24/7 Drainage Experts, and 2 lads turned up, on a supposed "no charge call out" over an hour after their agreed time slot, and too late to do much. They took the lid off the sewage drain - which wasn't the issue, and took the downpipe off the wall but did not look inside it, and refused to look at the soakaway pipe in the ground, claiming there would be no point.

They then proceeded to outline a plan to move the downpipe to a different part of the gutter, then dig a pipe to connect to the sewage pipe (not sure what the water board would say about that). This I was told would cost £3,420 - said in a mumble so I had to ask him to repeat clearly. The engineer informed me of this charge himself - he did not need to phone his office for a quote. I asked him to email me the quote in writing while I thought about it. He then made a mess of reconnecting the downpipe to the gutter, and informed me that because he had carried out investigations - the lifting of the sewer lid and removing the downpipe - they were going to charge me £180 for "investigations".

The next day I called another company who came out, again on a no call out charge. This other company were on time, removed the downpipe - actually looked inside and found a blockage mid way - and also checked the pipe in the ground. I was happy with his work and asked him to return the next day to trace the ground pipe and unclear. He had to phone his office for a quote, which I agreed to. He returned the following day, traced the ground pipe and unblocked it. His charge was £474.

There was quite a difference in professional, ability, attitude and skill set in the two companies.
I am surprised that the lad from 24/7 Drainage Company/First Local Services knew the cost of moving the gutter and digging the garden for a connecting drain to the sewer without needing to phone his office to ask. But then again, as he had not bothered to look in the pipe I can only assume that this had all be pre-arranged, that there was no intention to clear the blocked pipe and the intention all along had been to try and hoodwink an elderly lady into agreeing to more extensive work than was needed.

As they say, buyer beware - do not use this company. Not even on an "no call out charge" as they will find a way to charge you.

I paid the £180 even though they did nothing to deserve, and even after I paid they kept sending demanding emails. A totally unprofessional company who I have been recommended to refer to Trading Standards.

From start to finish, this was an excellent customer experience. Who’d have thought a blocked drain would leave you feeling happy?!
Nathan in the office on the phone was lovely, reassuring and explained everything. Glen called with an ETA and was so kind when he arrived. Was only here five minutes, and he was an absolute gentleman. Cannot recommend this firm more highly. Thanks, gentlemen.

Louis and Joe visited us today an hour after I called the company. They quickly carried out a CCTV survey, digging down 15cm to reach the pipe (something we’d been quoted an additional £300 to do by a big brand drain company) and uncovered the problem. They gave a quote to fix it on the spot and a timescale of a week. Lovely lads, clear communication and solutions.

Not a great experience with this company and won't use again.

Jack unclogged my kitchen sink in minutes. He was polite, cheerful and professional and I couldn't have been happier with his work. Highly recommended.

Approached First Local Services for a CCTV Drainage survey and report and cannot recommend them highly enough. Really easy to work with and the expert who attended for the survey (Glen) was fantastic. Very personable. Really helpful. Clearly very knowledgeable. Very thorough. And the report that followed was great; very clear and addressed everything that was asked and raised during the survey and inspection.

Glen was very pleasant, diagnosed the cause of the problem, which was a few doors away, sorted it efficiently, and gave us both an explanation and reassurance that we weren't likely to have it again for many years at least.

Great company, very responsive and speedy to arrive ! Charlie made quick work of our blocked drain issue and completed it in a timely manner ! Very happy with service and price was very fair considering quality of work and speed of response !

Had a water leak entering a kitchen drain off a shared water supply. Steve worked hard to find the cause, which wasn't straight forward, and fixed it. Very impressed.

Friday morning First call out, they turn up the next hour.
- a young guy in trainers and track suit was there for less than half an hour.
- ⁠he wanted to use camera before rodding (because it is an extra charge obviously).
- ⁠said he it a blockage 40 cm away from boundary inside the property
- ⁠didn’t notice the vent or suggest it could be a siphon.
- ⁠simply said it had to be a collapsed drain and that is best to phone Wessex water.
- ⁠never mentioned about the legal aspect of not going pass the boundary for a private company like yours or saying it is too closed to main.
Total paid £330 for nothing.

- ⁠Phoned Wessex water and their engineer was shocked by the above: there is a siphon before the main which is private and needs to be located! Simple.

Been asked to send an email to management asap so they can raise the query. Did so at 3:45pm.

- ⁠no answer over the weekend even though they are meant to be a 24/7company!
- ⁠called over the weekend never picked up phone!
- ⁠after talking with consumer right act advisor about the case I have been advised that the service was miss guided and incomplete.
- ⁠been told by Aby the manager that I was told all the above by the first guy (struggling to call him an engineer now because of his attitude and lack of knowledge). That was not true otherwise I would have made different decisions and save me 5 days of poo pilling up!
- Aby, the manager quite abruptly and pretty rude didn’t even try to understand my points and questions and just kept on saying that it was the law for private companies not to go near the boundary.
- Aby said I would have to pay a new fee for them to come back and that I was booked Tuesday at 9 am!!
- ⁠phoned at 9:30 to be told that I am booked today as soon as possible without a time given!
- ⁠another young lad in track suit trousers turned up at 11:30 am without any knowledge of the situation to do exactly the same than the first one!!

It is only after a quick response from Wessex water management that I got all the info needed which were contradictory to everything said by first local services members or managers!

Just a rip off!

Found proper Dyno rod people that charge half of what they charge to do everything they can to unblock and not charge more every time they take out an extra tool of the van!!

Absolute disgrace of a company.

They responded quickly to my initial contact and were quick and efficient.

We had an emergency situation of serious blocked drains for a block of flats. First Local Services Gloucester were the first to respond and did a brilliant job.
James attended and stayed for over 24 hours to solve a terrible crisis. What a brilliant guy he is.
Bailey and Jim at the Gloucester office could not be more friendly and reassuring throughout the process. Finally they helped send through the report for insurance purposes. Well done the team!

When my elderly mum, living on her own, called Hemel Hempstead Drains to unblock a drain, First Local Services arrived.

They quoted a lot of money for major excavation works, without proper investigation or considering the most obvious cause.

After 4 hours of mostly digging up the floor in her home, mum suggested they look for a fat ball in the drain as they seemed unsure of what to do. A fatty deposit was then discovered, removed by hand, after which the drain was found to be clear.

They left her with a hole in her floor and a smashed electrical switch, having charged her over £3,000.

Very friendly and polite. Nothing was too much trouble, very knowledgeable and professional. Cleared blockage quickly.
