We first contacted Andreas a few months prior to the actual move as we have had a few sales fall thru! He came and looked at what we needed moving and quoted. Not the cheapest but definitely not the most expensive. After speaking to 6 removal companies we decided on First Rate as they did the packing the day before completion and stored our stuff at their place overnight, which I thought was a great idea. Saves stressing on actual move day.
When we finally exchanged Andreas was calm and got his lads into action. They turned up, were fab and organized, needed to find an extra van and driver at short notice, as we had sooooo much stuff! This didn’t phase them tho. Off they went. The next day we left to drive the 3 hrs to our new house, they arrived within 20 mins, once we had the keys they worked like Trojans. Very careful with everything, nothing broken. Worked like a dream. Many thanks for making moving house unstressful and easy…..or as easy as it can be! Would 100% recommend First Rate. The guys were amazing 👌

I recently used this company to move house to another street, about 2 miles away.

Communication with Andreas was very good. Initially, the van was supposed to arrive at 12 pm, but then I was told it might be a bit later, between 1 pm and 2 pm and accepted it. On the day, I was informed that the elevator in the block where they were moving another customer had broken down, which was causing additional delays. I was told they would now arrive around 3 pm. After 3 pm, I received a message saying it would be 4:30 pm. Unfortunately, after 4:30 pm, communication with Andreas stopped. In the end, the van with two men arrived at 5:30 pm.

By that time, we had already moved everything from the house to the driveway, except for a two-seater sofa and the mattress, hoping they would quickly load it onto the van. I saw in one of the reviews that this team had worked very efficiently, but that was not the case for me. They were working, no doubt about that, but I must say it was the slowest moving team I have ever experienced. Even though we were actively helping them load the van from driveway, it still took another 1.5 hours.

I understand that positioning and securing items is important, but in this situation, quickly loading and even returning for the remaining items without overcomplicating the arrangement would have been far more efficient.

In the end, they helped me move, and I’m grateful for that. However, I wouldn’t recommend their service to anyone for whom timing is critical or where delays of over four hours are unacceptable.

Andres and his team managed to fit us in at the last minute (just before Christmas) following a very stressful house sale/purchase. First Rate were brilliant in taking the stress away from us helping us get excited about the move again! What sets them apart is Andres' customer service and his focus on making sure any issues get resolved asap. Would 100% recommend.
