The company began in an Oxfordshire farmyard in the early 1980s, selling terracotta floor tiles at a time when they were relatively unknown by the British public and weren’t available in tile shops. They proved hugely popular, and we opened a small London showroom selling just six different tiles. Customers began requesting glazed wall tiles to complement their terracotta floors and we sourced a small selection of other glazed tiles and put together a brochure covering our entire offering. By the mid 1990s, the company had grown from its humble beginnings on an Oxfordshire farm to having a number of showrooms in London and across the country. Today, we have 26 showrooms in the UK and expect to add two more in the coming year, including a brand-new destination store on New Kings Road in London. Our aim has always been to offer products produced with authenticity, creativity and style, and where possible both handmade and produced as close to home as we can manage. The UK Ceramics Industry has a long tradition and it is one we are keen to support. Having said that, where we spot a tile on our travels that is too beautiful to resist, we do of course secure it exclusively for our customers, many of whom are second generation fans of Fired Earth and its products. Decorating and design have become entrenched in the national mind not just as the preserve of the super wealthy, but as a way to create homes for ourselves and our families that reflect how we like to live today. At Fired Earth we like to think that although it may not be every day our customers choose to redecorate (although our paint does allow for just that level of obsession), we have identified the right looks and styles that feel perfect no matter what the style or age of property. Our website has grown too and now offers almost all of our collections to browse and buy online and shows stunning room sets and great design ideas to help inspire you.

Avoid company, they don’t send orders
Avoid. This company have taken money for an order 4 weeks ago for some ceramic tile beading ordered for a log burner. No such order has arrived. They have taken payment and I emailed the customer order team 2 weeks ago to enquire about the order and have had no response. Will never use them again. I got in touch via phone, liaising with Hannah from the customer care team she has been supportive and understanding. I feel they need to discuss with the curriers (DPD) about what went wrong. Very disappointing that I didn’t get the product but hoping to get a refund.

The are problems with the tiles and no…
The are problems with the tiles and no one will return my emails regarding the return and replacement of some broken tiles and some others that are the wrong colours.
This was an online purchase made after the company went into receivership and was taken over by Topps Tiles… it has clearly already gone down hill.

I purchased the Geralda Niebla tiles for an internal cubicle lav and separate shower room. The cubicle lav tiling is now complete and the tiles, in my opinion, are just beautiful.
There are a range of options for this tile - metro, dado, border and skirting - and the tile is offered in three colours: white, cream and neutral.
I have a Farrow and Ball paint store near the Fired Earth and both teams were great helping me to choose tiles and paint to make a scheme.
Photos can be added but I wasn’t given the option on the first draft of the review. But just to say thanks to Carol and Jayne for all of their help with this and looking forward to completing the shower room now.

Beautiful tiles, helpful and swift service
The tiles we ordered are stunning, well priced for the quality of tile and delivery was swift with the tiles securely packaged.
We chose the tiles at Adderbury but the stores were shut before we could order so ordered online after reopening under Topps Tiles. The service in the store was excellent, a great shame they’re not reopening.

Great tiles
Great tiles, sadly slightly wrong items on a few, the company went bust before I could alter it. But.....after a lengthy process they did fulfill the missing items.
