Fineco Bank wants to have UK business…

Fineco Bank wants to have UK business but unfortunately it does not compare with UK high street banks. Bank to bank transfers are just too slow. Even if you make a sterling to sterling transfer it takes 24 hours, provided you do it before midday, but up to 2 days if you try after midday. Currency conversions take up to 2 days. So in other words if you want to transfer euros from say France to pay a bill in the UK it could take you 4 days ie 2 days to convert the money from your Fineco euro account to sterling and another 2 days to make the bank transfer. I was told that this is because Fineco is an Italian bank, that this is current practise in Italy. Well I can use a UK high street bank and make transfers from a euro account & convert to sterling with Revolut in a few minutes. Fineco service is however very good but just a pity that their banking is so antiquated. The investing part of the bank is also good and efficient.

The lady that attended to me was very professional and she was very gentle too. She listened attentively to all my complain and she helped me out even when I couldn't get what she wanted me to do, she took her time to explain everything to me and helped out solve the problem of me unlocking my card. Just a quick update,I do trust that the address update/phone no etc update can be made immediately, most banks are able to do this online & not take 10 business days to adjust, thanks again.

DO NOT BE TEMPTED BY LOW FEES!

I was attracted to Fineco zero fee ISA stock and shares account, so decided to open one. After very lengthy and time consuming process (took 1 month) my FINECO ISA account was finally open. I transferred £ 3000 cash to Fineco - ONE MONTH LATER my money are still not on my account. I had to write ,to call them - no result. They sent me an email saying "Regarding your ISA transfer, we inform you that we
have solicited the counterpart, and we are now waiting for them to
transfer the cash."
Meanwhile I am preparing a complaint to the FCA to recover my money from this FRAUD.
DO NOT BE TEMPTED BY LOW FEES ! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Fineco Bank does the basics but with several flaws

Fineco Bank does the basics, you can use them to invest. Fees are not very high either, though that does not mean that this is the best and cheapest solution for you.

1. There is a slight issue that is getting overlooked in most Fineco reviews. When I, as a British citizen buy shares on the London Stock Exchange through Fineco, the dividends I get will be subjected to 20% withholding tax. Something I will never recover unless I exceed the dividend tax threshold. With British investment platforms no withholding tax gets deducted. This is a difference of up to GBP400 a year... And Customer Service gives you a rather military style answer to the above remark:
"we inform you that nationally sourced dividends will be taxed regardless of the tax residence of the recipient.

Thank you for your collaboration."

2. Opening your account can be difficult with numerous hurdles due to a lot of burocratic requirements. It went easy for me but it took about three months for my partner due to using or not using her middle name on the application, asking for a passport but only accepting a driving license (the passport did not contain her British address) and not reacting to answers to their requests regarding the missing data (like they did not read the email at all).

3. It is difficult to buy ETFs and certain shares. Again, when I ask why do I need to call them to buy an ordinary ETF that other platforms provide as standard, I get a rather insensitive answer:
"Regarding your request, we inform you that if you want to trade IE00BF0M2Z96 on the LSE market is possible offline only by calling the following numbers."

This is not really the service you would expect from a professional provider...

How stupid is this

How stupid is this, So Fineco an online bank have certain securities that although listed on LSE CANNOT be traded online (although everyone else seems to manage it), So placed a Buy Limit order (whole point is that if the market moves in my favour the trade will execute) Guess what! phone trades are only valid for ONE DAY not a lot of use unless I'm going to phone every day.
Only way to tell if security is NOT tradable online is to try and place a trade (this from customer services) anyone care to hazard a guess as to how long that would take given there are over 2000 companies trading on the LSE, and how many missed opportunities I am likely to incur.
