New packaging triggered an allergy

Have used Facetheory for years, always loved their products. However, after rebranding and new tubes I had to stop using all the creams. First I noticed that the cream around the neck of the tubes turns grey (reaction with oxygen and aluminium?). A few days after starting using the new cream my face and especially eyes were red, stinging and the eye lids developed a crust. I have never been allergic to anything, so it is such a shame that new packaging had this effect on the product. I have now switched to a different brand unfortunately, as can only use serums in glass bottles from Facetheory.

My theory about :-)

Die negativen Bewertungen bezüglich Lieferung wundern mich sehr. Ich habe nie Probleme gehabt und die Bestellung würde immer sehr schnell geliefert.
Ich benutze zur Zeit ausschließlich die facetheory Produkte, 5 verschiedene und mag sie alle sehr gerne! Der Effekt ist bei allen fantastisch.
Gute Produkte für gute Ergebnisse.
Das einzige Stern weniger ist weil die Produkte komisch riechen.
Lavendel finde ich persönlich immer schlimm und die Mandarine geht gerade so.
Vor allem alle Retinol Produkte riechen seltsam, ich mag das leider gar nicht. Aber für die Schönheit Nase zu und durch :-)

I do like, But...

I am now on my second bottle of Hylauronic acid plumping serum, and I have to say, I am sitting on the fence with this product. I agree with other reviews that, on application to my skin, it feels tacky/sticky. This is regardless of if I apply it on damp or dry skin. Once soaked in, the stickiness does seem to resolve. I feel that Face Theory have given mixed messages on how to apply this product, as on the website, they advise to apply to damp skin, however, I note one customer who left a review advising their skin felt sticky, FT responded suggesting they apply it to dry skin, which goes against their own advice on their website. I will stick with this a little longer, as I really do want to like it, and I was drawn to FT as a company due to their ethos and in line with PETA. I would welcome any further advice which they can provide on this particular product. I have also been using their Hydraserene Night Cream in Lavender, which I am enjoying. I like the smell and texture; it feels like a little luxury before I go to bed at night. I also intend to try the Glow Facial Cleanser at some point. If the issues with the serum can be ironed out, I would score FT a full five stars, rather than the four I have submitted today.

N.B. I was also due to receive a free gift as I subscribed to FT, but never received this.

Hyaluronic acid serums can feel tacky when first applied, especially if used on damp skin, as the hyaluronic acid binds with the water on the skin’s surface. The stickiness usually fades once fully absorbed, as you've observed. Our general advice is to apply to slightly damp skin after cleansing, but skin feel does vary by individual. Some customers prefer patting onto dry skin for a lighter texture. If tackiness persists, try applying a smaller amount or layer with a light moisturiser soon after to help reduce the sticky feel. Thank you for highlighting the differing advice. We’ll review and clarify our website guidance to ensure more consistency.

This company is unethical

This company is unethical. I was an ambassador for Face Theory and I generated thousands of pounds for the company by recommending their products to my clients. I built up over 70, 000 points through new people buying their products by using my code. The company rebranded and stripped me of those points without explanation. I used to receive a code when buying products in bulk. The last order I placed was for their old brand. Then, the following week, they rebranded, and cut price of all the old products in half, leaving me with a large amount of old stock that I had sell at half price as well. I was out of pocket. This put me off buying anymore products, but recently, I contacted Face Theory and asked for a code to start buying products in bulk, but was told that is not something they do anymore. Unbelievable! I've helped build their brand and that is the thanks I received. I would never buy or recommend their products again.

Love the cleanser, shame about the packaging

Love the cleanser, been a loyal customer for years, but the packaging is quite frustrating. In the glass jars I could ensure every part was used, and stored well in my shower holder. I kept one of the glass jars and emptied the tube contents in to see and clearly getting a lot less for the price which is such a shame.

Product ok, packaging is poor

Product was good but the packaging (metal tube) split when about 3/4 full so the cleanser started oxidising and was so sharp I hurt my hand. Emailed customer service and was just told I had not rolled the tube properly! Not even an apology.

I love this eye cream

I love this eye cream, I suffer with dark circles and sensitive skin around the eyes and started using face theory eye cream about 4 years age. I always used to your the pink glow for it eye cream, but went for the peptide eye cream last time and loving that just as much so far! The only frustrating thing is that when you first open the eye cream, so much of the product comes out, must be from the gas or something , at least a quarter of the tube is wasted, happens every time!

Customer services brilliant

Product ingredients have changed in their night cream... gutted because it absolutely suited my skin but contacted customer services who confirmed the change and then promptly refunded me on the 2nd unopened tube. I loved this product so much I bought 2 when new stock became available.

FT Are Not Processing Refunds

FT are not processing refunds – are they in Administration?

After years as a loyal customer, I had a severe allergic reaction to two products I’d used for years. I requested a refund for those items plus an unopened product I no longer felt safe using. I was assured it would be processed within 14 days, yet more than a month later I’m still waiting.

The excuses keep changing: delays, banking issues, technical errors, and now “manual processing backlogs.” When I asked for an update, I was told I’d hear back once the refund was complete—which at this point feels very unlikely. I've recently realised that Customer Service replies seem to be AI generated so it's doubtful that any refund will actually be processed and any information sent to them previously was just a complete waste of time.

Be cautious: despite FT’s implied “risk-free” returns policy, in practice, this is not the case and the returns information on their website is incorrect.

Update : 20th Sept. Thank you for your response in explaining the situation. However, I don’t understand why older refunds are not being prioritised, even if this requires manual processing. I have already provided all the requested information, including bank details, yet two months have passed since my refund was confirmed and it has still not been issued.

It would be helpful if FT could provide a clear timeline for customers awaiting refunds or at least publish a notice on the website regarding orders placed prior to the takeover. A dedicated customer service phone line would also make resolving these matters much easier whilst also improving customer trust and confidence in FT.

I’m so glad I found Facetheory

I’m so glad I found Facetheory. I’ve struggled with adult acne for many years, trying many different brands of skincare and the Facetheory Clear routine has very quickly calmed my skin. I also love the options of product and that the packaging is sustainably thought out! I hope they will resume US shipping soon, because I’m hooked.

I had an experience with Facetheory that proves their customer service is among the best. I initially tried their 0.1% Retinol, but my skin had a reaction to the strength. I was so disappointed, but when I contacted their team, they were incredibly understanding.

Not only were they empathetic and helpful, but they went above and beyond by giving me the option to exchange the product for *anything* from their range. I was blown by their flexibility and commitment to making it right. I decided to try the lower 0.05% Retinol strength instead.

I'm so glad I did! The 0.05% has been absolutely perfect for my skin—zero reaction, no peeling, and all the benefits. Facetheory didn't just solve a problem; they showed they genuinely care about customer happiness and building trust. This is how you earn a customer for life!

I am using Facetheory products long…

I am using Facetheory products long time, my favourite products and I really like the product but I don’t understand why you changed the packaging from glasses jars to aluminium, it’s uncomfortable because I waste some cream as I cannot squeeze the bottle. I would like to see the old packaging.

I really do like Face Theory products…

I really do like Face Theory products and have used them for years, but the prices have really increased which makes them less affordable. They are often out of stock and the newer packaging really needs to be changed and it was great before - it's not easy to use and messy and also looks plain and boring!
