Do not use expressway services
I have to use public transport as I do not have a drivers licence and every time it is a disgrace. I wanted to go from limerick bus station to wexford station for the Fleadh in Wexford 2025. I was highly disappointed with my journey up as the whole journey took 5 hours in total as there was a 2 hour wait in Waterford bus station. My journey back from Wexford was atrocious as the bus never arrived into Wexford. I was expecting to depart Wexford at 13:25 via route 40 and I had to wait an hour before realising that the bus just was not coming. I asked an expressway employee for assistance and he was very helpful and informed me that the bus was nowhere to be seen on his tracker. I had to get a 370 Wexford bus which cost €13 and left at 14:30 and then in Waterford I had to pay an additional €10 for a ticket to get to limerick which the bus was not going to arrive until 16:40. I was unable to use my original ticket which I purchased with expressway and I was given absolutely no explanation or indication as to why the original bus did not show up. I lost my original fee and requested a refund through the customer care email which I received no response to. I have lost out on money and an original 2 hour journey ended up taking so much longer. If the bus was not going to show up I should have been informed through email at the very least. The information on the bus should have been available online and it is ridiculous that I had to wait for such a long time for a bus that was never going to show up.
The most ridiculous trips combined in one holiday
I went on a return trip with my kids (4, 5,10) from Boyle to Dublin airport and it’s been the most ridiculous experience. Going to Dublin with the bus around 1.45AM…what bus? There was no bus, no information, nothing. A driver servicing the opposite route called their supervisors and was so kind to inform that the bus will be late more than an hour. Tough luck for those that needed to catch a plane. Eventually a rather questioning double decker bus took us more than an hour late.
The return, a week later…after spending 15h of travelling with the kids (let’s note we were awake for more than 30h as sleep just didn’t work out) and waiting 3,5h at the airport for this particular return bus…there was no bus once again. There was a slight delay noted in live tracker, then the bus was out of plan again. A customer care worker came to inform the bus is literally around the corner with a technical problem (this is 1 stop from the big central bus station where one would expect several busses would be available as replacement) and will have a 40 minutes delay. Really annoyed but hey, we waited that much so we’ll manage 40 minutes. Guess what…after eagerly waiting to finally sit down and go home, the bus had been cancelled. A nonesense email was sent telling we might take the following bus „as long as there are seats left“ or request a refund and reschedule the tickets. To my surprise rescheduling the tickets to the later bus didn’t work. Just being really at the end of patience and strengths to stay awake and watch 3 kids, we’re setting off dragging the heavy luggage (and kids) back to the airport. Oh wait…just after turning away from the station…the said bus drives past us. The customer care worker looked pretty much as baffled as we did, called their supervisors again to inform that the bus POSSIBLY goes into a loop now to pick up left passengers. Another email was then sent to inform that…yaaaaaaaayy, the said bus has been reinstated with a 90minutes delay.
Seriously. I heard people getting upset because of delays, but this was just absolute madness. Encountering such service for the same holiday trip was a very big lesson and I would absolutely not recommend relying on this company to get anywhere.

The worst service of all times
The worst service of all times. Never on time in Monaghan stop, and even if on time then has 10min break, so if you expecting bus to leave at 11.20, at the best it would leave at 11.30. Then scheduled to be in Dublin buss Aras at 1.20pm, and arrives at 2pm. I got late to my contacting train. Really I'm commuting Monaghan to Cork and back every second Friday for last 6 years and it is all the time hassle with the express way. Disaster

Lazy incompetent drivers, with obviously no accountability for their actions.
They just skip stops without proper notice, I be took a return journey. My stop for skipped on the way out and o had to wait 3.5 hours for the next one, and on the way back they skipped Busarus and went straight to Dublin Airport.
Deeply Disappointed and Heartbroken by Discriminatory Treatment
I am writing this with deep frustration and sadness after experiencing what I strongly believe was discriminatory and unprofessional behavior from one of Expressway’s drivers on April 13, 2025.I arrived at the Letterkenny bus station at around 7:06 PM to catch the Expressway 64 bus to Sligo, which was scheduled to depart at 7:12 PM. There were two buses parked at the station, and I mistakenly boarded the wrong one, a bus heading to Derry because the driver was not present to offer assistance or direction.At 7:09 PM, I realized my mistake and got off to head to the correct bus. As I approached, the driver of the Sligo-bound bus shut the door in my face. Despite it still being before the departure time and the bus still parked in the station, the driver looked directly at me, nodded, pointed at me, and wagged his finger in a dismissive way before reversing and driving off.
This left me stranded, heartbroken, and forced to pay for an expensive taxi just to get home to my children. This experience was humiliating, especially considering that I had arrived on time and was clearly trying to board the correct bus. What’s even more disturbing is that this is not an isolated incident. A close friend of mine experienced the same treatment while trying to board an Expressway bus to Galway she had a pre booked ticket, was waiting at the correct stop, and the bus driver drove past without stopping. It’s hard not to see a pattern when such disregard is shown repeatedly, particularly toward passengers of color.
Meanwhile, I’ve personally witnessed drivers stopping in the middle of the road to pick up white passengers even outside of designated stops. Why is that courtesy not extended to all passengers?
I’m incredibly disappointed in the lack of professionalism and humanity shown by this driver and deeply concerned by what feels like racial bias. Expressway needs to hold its drivers accountable and ensure all passengers are treated with dignity, fairness, and respect regardless of their background.
I sincerely hope this message reaches someone who cares enough to take action. This is not just about a missed bus it’s about being seen, heard, and treated equally.

Shocking!!!! Even tho we had tickets bought, bus never stopped at the bus stop. He just simply took on ppl in diff stop and didnt bother to stop for ppl who purchased tickets online. Left us in Galway, it was last bus, had to stay in a hotel. Trip from Claremorris to Galway worked out st 200euros. Do not trust this service!!!!

You can only buy a return ticket in the station with a card. You can buy a one way ticket from the bus driver with cash which adds 50% to the cost. Use another bus company
