I’m honestly fed up with Expressway Route 52. The evening buses from Ballina to Galway are always late — sometimes over 60 minutes! No communication, no apology. Horrible reliability and zero respect for passengers.
Most unreliable bus service
Always late or never shows up have to wait around after 12 hour shifts everyday. Often the double decker is not sent and people are left waiting another hour on the side of the road as there isn't enough seats available. Extremely unreliable.

Why isn’t there a zero star button?! Actually disappointed I have to award a 1… paid online for coach tickets. The money was taken twice by the company. I emailed to ask for it back and that was it! Never even had so much as a reply! This was despite me repeatedly emailing with the reference number and asking them to at least respond regarding the fact they’d stolen my money. Nothing at all. Customer service an absolute joke and money lost to them that I just can’t afford. Avoid at all costs.

Would give 0 stars if I could. Me and my friend were planning to go out on results night for the junior cert and we said we would use the bus to go get food. We knew we would be waiting40mins but we were waiting 1 hour and 30 mins and we rang the helpline and they said another 38mins so we couldn’t go anywhere for our results night absolutely disgraceful, customer service is useful

If I could give this 0 stars I would , unfortunately I can’t so it’s a 1. I have never met such incompetent workers in my whole life. There was an incident with a man who “broke his knee” as he sat down on the bus ~ this led us to wait on the bus a full 2 hours before even pulling out of the bus station in cork. NEVER again will I get a bus with this company as every week there is more and more issues.

I don't understand how there are so many bad reviews! I have used them a few times to and from Dublin airport to Longford - it's the Sligo bus #23. Every bus I have been on is clean and well maintained and the journey unremarkable, certainly no incidents. They are sometimes a few minutes late at most. But that is not the reason for my review... I also came to give praise to one of the drivers:
I got onto bus 23 in Longford (Dublin Road) stop at 09:44 am on 24 September, this was going to Dublin airport. When the bus stopped I was impressed as the driver got off with a clipboard and name checked us by our first names, which I thought was very friendly. When getting off at Dublin airport, I had mistakenly of course, left my phone on the bus. Well I could have wept, I had my boarding card on it and bank cards and had no cash or cards. My brother happened to call me to see if I got to the airport OK and the driver answered! It transpired that the driver was due back in Longford at 4pm that day, so he met my brother at the same stop and handed back the phone. I cannot express my gratitude enough, without my phone my world was falling apart! Especially as it was brand new and on a contract for 2 years.
I hope that Expressway read this and recognise the driver and reward him in some way. This is what you call fantastic customer service 😍

They even have a specific driver that refuses to let me on his bus but will happily let anyone else on.
But obviously the 15 euro price tag simply makes everything better, because i love having to pay 30 euro a day just to go to college and back with the lovely guarantee i won't be allowed on to begin with❤️

Bus didn’t show up, I had to take a taxi from drogheda to the airport, otherwise I would have missed my flight.

Terrible customer service!
Terrible customer service. Accidentally booked a ticket for the 11th of August 25 when it was meant to be the 4th - the day I was searching the website at Dublin Airport. Tried calling customer service but could not get through (lines blocked on bank holiday) so simply bought an additional ticket. Planned to get a refund for the 11th as was still well before departure on 11th. Called them on 6th of August and asked for refund - customer rep confirmed they would process a refund for me (even asked me to wait while he requested it). Checked credit card statement in September - no refund. Emailed on 13th of September and got response from 'Emily' that unless done online at least 1 hour before departure - no refund. I explained clearly the situation with confirmation from rep but again received second email with same response. Shockingly bad customer service - Expressway are simply really poor and do not value customers!

Horrible, I go from Sligo to Bundoran every week, always ALWAYS late!!!! The maximum time was 1 hour waiting at the hella bus station, and it happens every time. Even if I take an early morning bus, I am still late to work or college because of the extra 40 mins waiting. When will it stop, Expressway?

Awful experience but I suppose it beats walking. Barely.
Full disclosure: I took the 40 from Cork to Waterford (before making this connection). It was a nice ride.
