I was a good customer for years. Happy to support NZ companies, especially by women. Disappointed now, as waiting on an item for 9 months. I was fine with delays at first and the owners FB messages about her personal struggles; we've all been there. But having no communication personally regarding my order is not professional and nothing specifically mentioned since May regarding the items in my order. I have emailed directly and no reply either. The owner has my money and I want it back!! Shocking for a NZ company.

I waited 10 months for a piece of clothing to arrive. I could have almost tolerated the long wait and given understanding and kindness to situations out of the business’s control. But when the item arrived it wasn’t even the same as what I had ordered. It was similar but clearly different and had I known the true colour and pattern of the material I would not have ordered it. So after 10 months I have an ugly top that I will never wear. Learn from my mistake and don’t buy from this company.
Etc clothing is a joke
Etc clothing is a joke. Do not buy, been waiting months for a reply, only for them to make an excuse and not refund me like asked. Replied to the email now I’ll have to wait another 3 months for a reply. If they send my stuff eventually I will be sending it right back. Customer service is a joke, excuses after excuses, taking people hard earned money and having extravagant trips over seas, not communicating with customers and having 1 admin person when you know you are up shit creek with no paddle. Not doing anything to sort frustrated customers just making excuses. Now creating a hand made range spending hours to “promote” new items when she hasn’t got back to people waiting months but can find the time to make more clothes. Marketing consistent, she’s got time for that, she’s got time to make new items, but what she doesn’t have time for is long standing loyal customers who have now had enough. Making my complaint to the commerce commission and further if I have to. This is unacceptable do not buy, don’t waste your money on poor quality and disgusting customer service.

I’ve kept quiet for far too long.
I am still waiting on a dress, 7 months later. I have emailed, messaged, and posted seeking an update, with no response. Comments are deleted and customers blocked rather than concerns being addressed.
This isn’t the first time, by a long shot, that I’ve experienced long waits for items from ETC Clothing. Time and time again I’ve given the benefit of the doubt, shown patience, and continued supporting the business, hoping things would improve.
There seems to be plenty of discussion about how unfairly others behave, yet little accountability taken for customer experiences. I have been a loyal customer, but sadly I will not be purchasing again. I’ll be clearing out my items and moving on.
Every business, organisation, and agency is expected to acknowledge mistakes, communicate professionally, and take responsibility when things go wrong. No business is exempt from that.
Due to the lack of communication and resolution, I will be seeking legal advice regarding this matter.
Has anyone else had a similar experience with ETC Clothing or taken steps to recover an order or resolve an issue?
Disappointed to have to write this, but accountability, professionalism, and communication matter.
Really disappointed with this company…
Really disappointed with this company and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I ordered items in August 2025 and to date I still haven't received one of the items. I received one item after waiting eights months. I am still waiting for the rest of it and despite sending them numerous emails enquiring about delivery dates, they have chosen to ignore my emails. I thought it would be alright buying local but was I wrong. Gives a bad name to the genuine local sellers out there. Never again.

Unfortunately my experience with ETC Clothing was disappointing. The quality of the items was very hit and miss, and customer service was extremely poor. I sent multiple emails and received no response until I commented publicly on one of their Facebook posts.
It then took around a month to have my refund processed, again only after commenting publicly for an update. Overall, not a good shopping experience and I think people should be aware before ordering.
Dont waste your time or money
Used to be fab - now is far from. They do not reply to emails etc, I no personally of several people owed money from a number of years ago.
They love to rant on facebook, but beware do not comment they will delete or put you on blast.

I personally haven't ordered for a long time after falling 'victim' to been an awful person for wanting to return something however have a few friends currently in the boat i was - but i do feel has got worse!

Done a pre-order last year was due to arrive October. 7 months later I still havnt received it. They said April when I wrote on their post after emails wernt answered. They were happy to take the money but no communication for any form of refund or credit due to the significant wait. This company used to be really good as ive purchased alot through them over the last few years. Shame it hasnt stayed that way.

Fleece lined hoodie
Fleece lined hoodie, I thought i was getting a decent quality hoodie like they used to make instead I've had this awful cheap shiny polyester thing turn up, it is so thin you can literally see through it, yes it is kind of fleecy more soft than actual fleece that will keep you warm, 100% waste of money, it went straight in the bin, after a very long wait for it to arrive. Buyer beware.

Absolutely awesome clothing company, I've been a customer for around 10 years and an admirer for much longer. Gorgeous pieces with brilliant designs and high quality material. I have many pieces from years ago still! 80% of my wardrobe is Etc! Great customer service, awesome small team of a couple of mums. My fav!

Shocking Customer Service
I think this business is very poorly run, if your order is late and a query them via email you get ignored! If you write any comments regarding your late order on their FB page (due to not getting a reply via email) they will delete your comments and block you from their page!

Ordered goods and paid in full 9 months ago and still waiting. Also, handbag I ordered arrived but was faulty and I haven't received a response to my many emails. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY as they do not care about their customers and I feel they are scamming customers and their clothing is such poor quality!
UPDATE. Sweat shirt ordered in August now no longer available. Still waiting for my refund. No reply to my 4 emails. Going to make a complaint to the Commerce Commission as this company should not be in business!

I give etc see no stars. I have been waiting for an item since October last year. The response from them is nonsense as I have had two automated responses and one that said they would get back to me within two to three working days and that was on the 10th of April. I certainly will not buy from them again.

I ordered clothing through Etc clothing on the 3rd December 2025, states that it is getting prepared for shipment. I have emailed several times always getting an automated response. I have not received the item as of yet. Very disappointed in the service. Will not be ordering again. This item was not advertised as a pre order item. Was looking forward to it arriving for Chrisrmas. I ordered items from Australia and received those for Christams this did not happen with this company.
Huge disappointment
I’ve bought lots over the years. It’s not cheap but the quality and uniqueness makes it worth it. I’ve got jumpers I bought 4 years ago that are still thick and warm
They have gone downhill sooo much though. I bought a fleece zip up hoodie, expecting it to be good quality fleece lined cotton, like the other jumpers I have bought in the past, instead it is thin shiny sh*t material like what you’d get from Temu. Fuzzy on the inside but certainly not fleecy. I feel annoyed as I’ve seen recent reviews and seen the excuses but gave the benefit of the doubt and made an order because all my other items have been decent quality. I even prepared for the shipping to take ages but I did not expect such a crap quality item. I have literally felt the same annoyance when a temu clothing order has arrived, except this is worse because temu clothing is quarter or less of the price that I paid.
Won’t even bother leaving a review on website or FB or asking for a refund, because everyone knows how that goes (reviews are deleted and emails are ignored). Silly me for ignoring the latest reviews. Even if your past experience was good, don’t even bother now. Just shop on temu or shein.
