Thank you for taking the time to share your honest feedback. We're sorry to hear that your experience with our curriculum and some of our staff has not met your expectations. At Enlightium Academy, we aim to provide a comprehensive education that challenges our students while fostering spiritual, academic, physical, social, and emotional growth. Hearing that the material feels repetitive and questioning the qualifications of our teachers are serious concerns that we intend to address promptly.

Regarding the curriculum, we aim to build strong foundational knowledge while advancing students' understanding each year. We will submit your feedback regarding the Bible curriculum to our Bible Faculty Chair and curriculum team for review. We value the spiritual development of our students as a core aspect of our mission and consistently seek to enhance their learning experience in meaningful ways.

Regarding our faculty qualifications, please be assured that all of our teachers hold at least a Bachelor's degree, with around 40% possessing Master's and Doctoral degrees. Additionally, faculty members are certified by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and/or are state certified. We can confirm that all faculty meet these standards and are fully equipped to provide the best possible educational experience.

Our goal with the fifth-grade History curriculum is to provide students with a foundational understanding of both United States and World History. It serves as an introduction to these subjects, setting the stage for a comprehensive study that continues throughout middle and high school. As students progress through our curriculum in grades 6-12, each unit is designed to be developmentally appropriate and builds upon the knowledge gained in previous years, cultivating a well-rounded understanding of historical events and their complexities.

Hello,

Our team is genuinely glad that you reached out about the team’s communication. We see that your family recently enrolled, and early on is the best time to get ahead of potential issues.

On the Enlightium Parents app, the default group you were added to provides communication from the Enlightium team to your family. However, you can click the search bar to look for and join groups for your student’s grade level, your state, your student’s program (Online, Homeschool, or Sapphire Live), as well as other groups like a Spiritual group, social clubs, etc. In these groups, you have the opportunity to post questions, concerns, achievements, and more for other Enlightium families and team members to assist with. You can also direct message within the app other Enlightium parents and team members.

Your student’s grades and progress are provided via email; you can also find detailed information by logging into the parent portal; you can find information about the portal here: https://support.enlightiumacademy.com/support/solutions/articles/48001147411-parent-portal-grades-3-12-

You likely also received a welcome letter from the student’s counselor (which provides a link for a one-on-one meeting) your student’s teachers (which you or they can message within Ignitia), as well as invitations to join Bible Studies, student chapels, social events, and plenty more.

If not already completed, we’d recommend completing the Parent Orientation within the Enlightium Parents app. You can find it by going to the menu and clicking on “Parent Orientation”. This video course will talk you through connecting with Enlightium team members, finding social opportunities, keeping up with grades and progress, and opportunities to increase your student’s grades. We’ll also ask the team, including support, your student’s counselor, and your student’s teachers, to reach out as well.

Thank you for sharing your concerns about the lack of personal interaction in our learning environment. We appreciate your feedback, and we want to assure you that we are continually working to enhance the overall student experience. We’re pleased to note that there are dozens of opportunities each month for students to connect with staff, faculty, and other Enlightium students between group sessions with teachers, Bible Studies, social clubs, and one-off events. Parents receive information about these events upon enrolling and in the Enlightium Parents app, and students receive invitations to join events as a direct message in Ignitia.

At Enlightium Academy, we understand the importance of human connection in the learning process. We offer various opportunities for students to interact with teachers, fostering a sense of community and support. These opportunities include weekly live sessions for most core classes. Our live sessions offer a dynamic platform for students to engage with teachers, ask questions, and participate in discussions, creating a more interactive and collaborative learning experience. Additionally, teachers are available during office hours on Fridays, offering support and clarification for students who may need it.

We believe in the importance of social development alongside academic growth. Our virtual retreats offer students the chance to enjoy teaching from Scripture, fellowship, discussion, and worship, creating a holistic learning experience. Monthly student chapels provide a space for students to come together for spiritual growth and fellowship. We offer a variety of clubs, such as Art and Book Clubs, providing students the opportunity to connect with peers who share similar interests.
