Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re glad to hear your buying experience and delivery were positive, but we’re sorry the T-shirt didn’t fully meet your expectations. This isn’t the response we usually receive, and it doesn’t align with the hundreds of 5-star reviews we’ve had from customers on our website and Trustpilot.

It’s important for us to explain what goes into our garments and what differentiates them from T-shirts sold at half the price, because although the differences aren’t always immediately visible, they are significant and central to why our products cost more.

First, we produce all our garments on-demand, using a small-batch production process that is far more sustainable but also more expensive. Unlike mass-market high-street brands that create huge volumes of stock—much of which ends up unsold and ultimately in landfill—we only make garments when they are needed. This dramatically reduces waste, excess inventory, and the environmental impact of large-scale manufacturing, storage, and disposal. Smaller, more responsible production runs naturally cost more, but they significantly reduce waste and lower the overall footprint on the planet.

As for the T-shirt itself, our rolled-sleeve tees are made from 100% organic cotton and are GOTS-certified. This means the cotton is grown without harmful chemicals, the production process meets strict environmental standards, and everyone involved is paid and treated fairly. This is very different from the conventional cotton and low-cost labour used in cheaper high-street alternatives, and the fabric alone costs us more than double.

The garment is also produced in a climate-neutral facility, meaning all emissions are measured, reduced wherever possible through renewable energy and efficient processes, and any remaining carbon is fully offset. You may not “see” this when looking at the T-shirt, but the certifications ensure the garment’s production has no net negative carbon impact—again, something that costs more.

Our products are also PETA-approved vegan, ensuring no animal products or exploitation are involved. This limits where and how we can manufacture and increases the cost of production.

Even our prints are different. We use water-based, non-toxic, compostable inks, not the plastisol inks used on most cheaper garments. These inks are more expensive and harder to work with, but they’re better for the environment, safer for you, and create a softer, more breathable print.

Every order is shipped carbon neutral, and our packaging is 100% recyclable and plastic-free. These materials cost significantly more than the polybags and cheaper packaging widely used in the industry, but reducing waste is a core part of our values.

We’ve also planted over 37,000 trees through gold-standard reforestation projects and continue to direct part of our profits towards environmental and charitable causes—additional costs we willingly take on as part of our mission.

All of these choices—organic materials, ethical labour and fair pay, climate-neutral production, sustainable inks, plastic-free packaging, on-demand manufacturing and charitable contributions—result in higher production costs and, ultimately, a higher retail price. Some of these differences are visible, others are not, but together they reflect a business model that exists to make a positive impact. Few fashion brands can genuinely claim the same.

The vast majority of our customers value these factors and choose to invest in garments that align with a more sustainable, ethical and responsible approach to clothing. We appreciate your feedback, and we’ll keep working to ensure the value behind our products is clear.

Hi there. Thanks for your feedback, and we're pleased you love our product. We don't know from your review where you are based, but if you are in the U.S then the duty fee that you see is added due to the U.S President, Donald Trump, recently imposing tariffs on your purchases from brands and retailers that are based outside of the U.S. This is his charge for U.S customers. This is not our charge or a fee we impose, but the U.S Government impose this on you. For something we have zero control over is upsetting that it has affected your rating towards our brand, but of course, that is your choice to do so. Rest assured, from the moment the U.S president announced these tariffs, we were also extremely upset, but we have zero control over this, and obviously, we have to abide by the rules imposed. However, we do show all fees/costs at checkout, and what you pay with us is all you pay. There are no hidden charges later. All U.S customers shopping with Eden Ashram can then make an informed choice before making any purchase. I hope this clarifies what the charges are and who is responsible for imposing them on you.
