Excellent value on the Sunshine Coast
We hired an almost new Corolla hybrid for 3 days for about $110 plus the insurance waiver. It was excellent value for a surprisingly good and economical car. Staff were helpful and friendly as well.

Quick and easy service
The pick up and drop off was quick and easy. The drop off service was excellent. I arrived at 6:30am as I had a 8am flight. The store doesn’t open until 7am but I was just going to drop the keys in the slot and walk to the airport. One of the staff just arrived and asked me what time my flight was and then offered to drive me to the airport in my hired car. It was going above and beyond what I expected. I also liked that I was asked to take photos at pick up as evidence of the state of the vehicle. My only small complain is that during pick up, the guy kept asking me to pay extra for insurance. I told him my credit card covers car rentals but he kept insisting that it doesn’t cover what I needed.

Date on car seats are missing
The pick-up and return to the airport was quick and efficient. The check-in took some time. First they couldnt find the right booking and then they had fforgotten the carseats for the children. The date on the car seats installed was removed so you couldt see how old the car seats were. According to the manufacturer they are not allowed to be more than 8 years and he only way to tell is the date on the seats. This is not very safe for parents.
Great value and good cars. Booked through the entertainment book and got a good discount there.

Excellent service !! From the moment l was picked up from the airport ( l clearly couldn’t follow instructions to pickup point and got lost ) however the pickup driver rang called me and kindly guided me to the correct pick up point . Thank you !
The girls in reception were amazing and so friendly both on pick up and drop off , car was great and such competitive prices.

Great Car, Amazing Customer Service, Would Recommend.
I arrived after a 25 hour flight to collect my pre-booked hire car. The service was amazing. From landing I received a message to let them know when I was at the airport. A transfer bus arrived and helped with my luggage and took me to the car hire place.
The gentleman dealing with my booking took time to explain everything, very friendly and helpful.
My initial car had a SatNav related issue, so they upgraded me without fuss.
On drop off, they inspected the vehicle, and I was ready to head back to the airport. A frictionless and seamless transaction. Great customer service, friendly transfer to the airport.
The car was reliable, amazing and very happy as I travelled Kangaroo Island.
Definitely recommend and thank you to the gentleman that went the extra mile to help a very tired and weary traveller.

So good, I booked again!
The pick-up and return to the airport was quick and efficient. The check-in again was fast and efficient. Great value and good cars - got an upgrade on my first visit. Re-booked with ECCR when I returned to Melbourne - only minor criticism, I had to wait 30 minutes for the car to be prepared on my second visit.

The staff at the Marcoola branch were excellent. I had made a reservation via website and no issues when I went into collect car. They also put in two car seats that I had forgotten to book. That was appreciated.

I have used ECCR several times. Adelaide branch are very helpful. The pickup is prompt and its 3 minutes to the depot. The drivers are friendly and informative. The cars are spotless and I requested the same model the following week- which they did for me. Great value too.

service provided at collection was very good. The courtesy drivers were also very good.
the car was clean and readily available.
two issues.
1. very difficult to locate the pick up point as the car is a few kilometers off site (as is the office). telephone calls were not much help, but another company told us we were in the right location for pick up.
2. we paid additional insurance through booking.com (as we have with previous other car rental companies), however, East Coast rentals wanted us to make a payment through them (even though we had already paid the extra). there amount was more than the car rental. I declined and noted any damage was a $4000 excess and I had to pay $1000 deposit on my card. They said any accidents, i would be liable for the above and have to contact booking .com if I needed to make a claim. We could have used a different car rental company and would not have had this hassle.

Pick-Up Location:
We are an offsite car rental provider, which is noted during the booking.com booking process. Listings typically differentiate between "in terminal" providers (located onsite and usually higher priced) and "shuttle bus" providers, like us, which offer a courtesy transfer to our branch.
To make the process as simple as possible, we send an SMS 24 hours prior to collection with instructions for arranging the shuttle. Once ordered, step-by-step directions guide you to the pick-up point. Alternatively, our contact centre is available for assistance. A review of your booking shows that it was booked less than 24 hours prior to collection and therefore this feature would not have been automated and a call would have been required to arrange the shuttle.
Insurance and Liability:
When booking through a third-party provider, the additional insurance offered is an excess refund policy. This means that regardless of the car hire company, if an accident occurs, you would need to pay the excess upfront and then claim it back from the third-party insurer.
At East Coast Car Rentals, we offer options to reduce liability at the counter, which eliminates out-of-pocket expenses in the event of damage. This also waives the $1,000 security bond required when liability is not reduced. The details of your liability and security bond are outlined during the booking process and included in the confirmation email for transparency.
We understand that this can sometimes be confusing, which is why we always recommend booking directly with us. This ensures clarity on pricing, liability options, and the booking terms.
