Camper build started with DVLA requirements and kept to it costing more. They said failed as will not look like a camper to police or Gov body. Well kids adults asked all say obviously camper van. Just another example of Gov body rules (laws) are to suit not whats right/fair/just.

I bought a private registration plate, I absolutely love it, it’s perfect, the full registration has meaning which is exactly what I was looking for. The transaction was easy and fast, and I was able to put the plate straight on my car!

Trying to resolve sorm issue After receiving a Fine, Phoned 6 times today, Very Busy call back Later Goodbye, What A Shower Dvla are Con Outfit All About Collecting money, Crap Service and Still Hide behind Covid.

Diabolical. Provided Group Nexus with an incorrect address for me, which lead to a parking fine not being received, and subsequently passed to a Debt Collection Agency. This was back in August. I am now being hounded for a debt of £170, resulting in a £60 parking fine (which WAS NOT placed on my windscreen), increasing everyday.

I am disgusted that my information can be given incorrectly, resulting in this fiasco.

And yes, I have contacted DVLA and had no response as yet.

I bought a private plate from DVLA, put it on my car and now the car is 'unknown'. I own an Unknown. But at least my 'unknown' is taxed and mot'd. I've sent the V5 in with the changes and proof of the model. Wish me luck! But why on earth would putting a DVLA purchased reg. delete my vehicle model? God only knows!

Update 6th Jan. I got one V5 back and correct. Both sent in same envelope. So only half crap then.

I wish I could give 0 star. Rudest and most useless customer service ever.

They advertise that informing them of a change of address is free, as it should be. But no, this is the British government and of course they have to charge you - £14. Once again, the British Government is using its citizens as Cash Cows, Take, Take and Take, squeeze them dry until they have nothing left - unless you are one of the rich as they are.

I had to renew my over 70's driving licence by post as my photograph needed updating. I sent my application by recorded delivery on Tuesday 25th October and, after reading reviews, expected to wait weeks before I received it. However, on Thursday 3rd November, after only 8 days, my new licence was delivered to me. Well done DVLA.

They are working very, very hard.

Why all the 1 stars?
My provisional came within around two weeks by a letter application. One week until I got the application, sent that off and my card took 7 days to get to me. I gave them my birth certificate and my wage slip, as I didn't have a passport.

I have bought a personalised number plate from dvla 6months ago. Applied for a v750 form 5times now and nothing. I call up dvla there’s nothing they can do at all and not helpful in the slightest. There’s no number to call about this issue aswell so basically nothing I can do but keep applying and hope they send it. Absolute joke of a company.

Shambolic waste of time dealing with them and they are so incompetent no company would get away with the way they behave

Just received a fine of £80 from a debt collection agency. Their letter didn't state what it was for.

After looking online, it turns out it was because I didn't renew my road tax at the start of the year. I was surpised, but couldn't find any evidence that I did. However:
- I've renewed it tonight for £0. It was also at £0 at the start of the year so goodness know why I would not renew, if anyone had bothered to tell me.
- I didn't receive any letter. I do have a dodgy postman, but no reminders. Nothing in my email, nothing. I thought it might have gone in my spam, but as my renewal tonight didn't: I don't see why it would.
- My MOT was renewed in January and no warning that I wasn't taxed - good of the the government to keep us all safe.
- There will be no point complaining, but this lot are as corrupt as the rest of UK Gov. Couldn't fleece me for my road tax, so found another way.
- The debt collection agency will doubtlessly have put a flag on my credit rating. Not that this matters as I have no debt and no financial issue.

Absolutely useless. I sent all the correct documentation to replace my lost provisional license, I had to ring up today as I'd not received anything back, got told that I hadn't sent the right i.d so I said I sent them my birth certificate AND my bank statement highlighting my national insurance number and they were confused why it never got accepted because they accept bank statements as proof of national insurance number. And to top it all off they claim to have sent my documents back on the 5th of October and I still haven't received them. So not only am I nearly £40 down paying for a birth certificate and postal order I sent them, they've somehow managed to lose the documents as well. Absolute shambles from a department that's supposed to be a government building. Don't trust them with any sort of i.d as it'll be hit and miss if you get it back. Now I have to fork out for another birth certificate and postal order and when I send the next lot back to the DVLA I'll be ringing them up every couple of days to check on the progress as it's beyond their pay grade apparently to phone up customers and let them know if there's an apparent problem. They seriously need to pull their finger out because the service is absolutely ridiculous. Never have I heard such incompetence.

On behalf of my husband they have had his licence since the beginning of June as he has to renew his licence for hgv driving every 5 years. In July they said they needed to write to his doctor with concerns over his medical history which he has had for 20yrs + so it was allowed and he spoke to the GP to see if everything was ok. They then wrote to tell him they needed further correspondence with the GP in August again no problem. We are near the end of October and he still has no licence and without it he can't work so has now been out of work for 5 mths. They are discriminating his disability and causing him undue stress. I believe they should get there act together and sort out there timings as they are costing the people who want to work there lively hood.

I waited 10 moths for them to renew my licence , during which time i was not allowed to drive. Finally after intervention from my local MP, it arrived.
You have no chance of getting in touch with them ..if you email them they send you an automated number by return, nothing else. Phoneing is genuinly impossible. 'Chat' is always full and can take no more..... neither could I !

My wifes car was stolen and duly reported as such to the police which then in turn are duty bound to inform DVLA. Since then she has cancelled remaining Road tax and insurance etc (obviously) but now the DVLA are persuing her with bailliffs for the tax due following the theft despite many letters and phone calls. Given that you can only cancel whole remaining months they still consider it my wifes responsibility.
Bloody shambolic disgrace.

I was having trouble ordering a new licence online so I decided to go online and was put through to Sion (pronounced Shaun I believe) He was so lovely and helpful, and fixed my problem with one minutes.

Absolutely shocking, unable to retain private plate on line so had too post off documents…. More expensive! 4 weeks later no progress and lost the sale of the bike ! DVLA NEEDS A MAJOR OVERHAUL !
