I had rhinoplasty and upper blepharoplasty with Dr. Varsak, and the results are amazing.

I reached out to the team to ask about a neck and face lift. They sent me a quotation on WhatsApp for 12,000 USD. Before contacting them, I already had a rough idea of the usual cost because other people who had the same procedure were quoted between 9,600 and 9,800 USD.

When I received this higher quote, I asked the agent about it, and they told me the price varies depending on skin type and medical history. I wasn’t satisfied with that answer, so I contacted the manager. After looking at my pictures, the manager told me I was being charged more because of my dark skin. She explained that people who look like me supposedly have “thicker skin,” so Dr Varsak would take longer during the operation.

Basically, this means white or Caucasian patients are charged less, while Black patients pay more. The manager also said that people with chronic conditions or who are on medication are also charged more.

I really wanted Dr Varsak to do my surgery, but I’m struggling with the idea of paying more just because of my skin colour. I feel this is discrimination at the highest level. I’ve heard good things about this doctor, but this experience hasn't been very pleasant. It hurts to see that some people still practice discrimination based on skin colour or medical conditions.

This made me feel very sad, especially because people like me face this kind of treatment every day. To think that a top surgeon like Dr Varsak still allows this kind of practice is truly upsetting.

These Turkish surgeons send you quotes through a WhatsApp group, and you won’t find those prices on their official website. Their prices aren’t consistent. It makes it hard to know what’s true.
