Took extremely long to get paperwork attested - with no update on steps or progress. When I asked for updates, suddenly an increase in cost was requested (3k rand)

Asked for a partial refund instead but it took days for a response and Tshepo (person responsible for my docs) did not respond. Handed over to Machelle who was equally incompetent and did no effort was made to post the documents back to me even though it was requested and paid for.

Absolutely disgusted with the service. Would not recommend for anyone to use.

I used Doc Assist to obtain an unabridged marriage certificate and Apostille and supplied all information correctly, including a copy of my passport showing my date of birth as 18 June.

Unfortunately, the final certificate I received contained an incorrect date of birth, showing 13 June instead. This error originated during the document production process and was not due to any incorrect information provided by me.

What was most disappointing was the response when the issue was raised. Rather than taking ownership of helping to resolve the problem, Doc Assist advised that I would need to pay again for the correction, a new Apostille, and additional courier fees, despite the fact that the original information submitted was correct.

While I appreciate that mistakes can occur at the Department of Home Affairs, I engaged a professional service specifically to manage this process and ensure the accuracy of the final documents. I do not believe it is reasonable for a customer to bear the full cost of correcting an error on an official document when the correct information was supplied from the outset.

The process was completed quickly, but the end result was an unusable document and a refusal to rectify the issue without further charges. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend the service.

Have used them one 2 or 3 separate occasions now for Death and Birth certificates. Found them to be extremely helpful, knowledgeable and prompt in their communication. Very pleased to have discovered them as an alternative to Embassies who are frighteningly ineffective

I have never seen the assistance in the world like Docassist company. I got my South African police clearance just in less than 3weeks, I wasn’t expected in few days because I thought that will take me 4weeks all with courier things but less than 3weeks I had my certificate on my hands from SA to Italy.

We needed to get a retention letter from SA as we are applying for Citizenship in the UK. We started the process and literally a week later the news came out that we did not need to do it anymore. Kirsten, based in the UK, immediately contacted us and informed us of the change and refunded the money.
This shows their professionalism and their integrity.

I had to get an unabridged birth cert , which my solicitor misplaced - to get an Irish passport . Although it took 5 months to get - and 2 applications ; i know how hard my consultant worked to get this cert . Always professional and curtious in all the e-mails i received . I was a potential new client. Never used this service before. First person of contact was Machelle Munroe. All I can say is rude, abrubt, no people skills and very unprofessional. Completely taken back by how you can be so rude and unprofessional over the phone for no reason at all. Very bad first impression of the company. I'll spend my money somewhere else. Very disappointing.

Very thankful to Docassist. They were very quick to respond to my emails and questions. I made a number of mistakes transferring money but that was my fault. They were very quick at getting the cert I needed and delivering them to Ireland.
Would recommend them to anyone needing certs from Home Affairs In SA.

Was in a bind and they helped me out with exactly what I needed, most importantly the unabridged birth certificate. Sent them the documents they needed, gave them time to deliver and they handled everything for me. Money well spent and will use again for sure.
