I recently received service from our Property Relationship Manager, Xavier Au at DJ Alexander, regarding some maintenance work required in our apartment.
I must say that Xavier was extremely quick to respond, understood the requirement clearly, and promptly arranged an appointment with the contractor. The entire process was followed up end‑to‑end, and the work was completed yesterday.
We are very happy with the outcome—the bathroom looks clean, well finished, and professionally done. What stood out most was Xavier’s attention to detail and professionalism. Even after the contractor confirmed completion, he did not close the ticket immediately and instead checked with us to ensure everything had been completed to our satisfaction.
Overall, we are very pleased with the service and the level of care shown throughout the process. Excellent experience.

Lauren Stocks was really helpful with a tricky checkout, tenants left without giving notice. Lauren kept us up to date throughout the process of checkout, repairs, maintenance, deposit recovery and re letting.

Lauren Brown provided professional and comprehensive support for me regarding the negotiation of a rent increase. Her service was excellent and she responded in a timely manner to ease my concerns.

Sana was very helpful when we went for a viewing, her reply times were impeccable and always professional. She still offers the same help once we have moved in. DJAlexander have been great and helped so far with the move in. We viewed the flat on Wednesday, heard we were successful by Thursday and had references etc completed by Monday.

I want to take this oppurtunity to save anyone considering renting with DJ alexander the mental and physical strain i went through from 2024 until now.
First off, id like to say that chloe the estate agent in the glasgow branch i dealt with is one of the lovliest people ive ever met, and this review in no way reflects her or her ability.

Chloe was the first person i met who showed me the flat and went through all the processes with me when filing paperwork etc. everything went smoothly as it could i wish her a great success in her life.

Once that paperwork was signed - it was as if that was it for me. I had asked multiple times for my rent payment date to be changed from the moment i moved in, to the 25th to the 28th. This was to reflect my wages. I spoke to accounts in November, December, January, February , never once was this changed. So, each month i was accused of paying "late" even though this was all explained.

Now, lets get into the fun stuff. On April 9th, i reported that there was a leak coming through my bathroom ceiling. This was coming strong, and fast. I emailed and called, and continuously got told someone would be in touch. Within 24 hours, no one had contacted, and the water had started coming through my light fixtures, so i had to phone the fire brigade. Dj alexander STILL sent no one. At 4pm on the 10th april after numerous calls from myself, i finally had someone appear, who looked in the ceiling , went "hmm nah thats not my job" and left.
Through all this, i am in communication with lewis at the edinburgh branch. He reassured me time and time again i was a priority. I was not. April 11th my ceiling caved in. This is finally when dj alexander decided that i should be put in a hotel for the next 3 days. I must reiterate this -3 days. The first hotel they suggested was outwith the centre in a hotel currently used to house males coming from other countries. I am a single woman. I then explained this and was told that i can pay for my hotel and be reimbursed. I refused this. I pay a monthly rent and im expected to have funds for days of hotels? So eventually, the landlord did cover it. I was put into a hotel for 3 days, then another for 5 days then another for 5 days. I had to constantly contact lewis, who was useless with information, just filling me with nonsense. I was told time and time again different dates id have access to my home again, and it never happened, all while im still paying rent.
I eventually was allowed back in my home, where i had to take time off work to allow construction men into my flat on the daily. I have constant email correspondence from lewis & my landlord. This is where things get 10x worse. I was told id be in a hotel again for a couple weeks while work took place. I was told via email to put all my personal belongings into my livingroom space so that the construction guys could work around it. I went home one day to collect more clothes when i realised alot of my things had been moved and went through, and my bed had been broken which made me extremely uncomfortable. This was reported again and again, but more nonsense came. All this continued until AUGUST Of me staying in hotels, staying on a work site, constantly dealing with this mess. I went on holiday, and was told the job would have been finished that week. I got home to my flat at 4am and it was a disaster. Everything was everywhere, place was dusty, dirty, black tarps all over the floor all my belongings needing cleaned, furniture rearranged, and tools etc still in the property. I got in, and had to spend an hour clearing somewhere for me to sleep. I went to leave that morning, only to discover my front door had been broken and i was locked in. I was left there for 2 days. Ive never felt so dehumanised in my life as i did by dj alexander in the summer of 2025.

Finally i got my home back, this went on from april to mid august, and i requested when the deep clean would happen. I requested this multiple times, it never happened. I was left to clean up the disaster the flat was left in, obviously only being capable of so much since i don't have professional equipment.

I have since moved out on the 30th march, and im still waiting on my deposit being returned - why? Because they want to keep a portion for a CLEANING FEE. I cleaned it to the best of my ability before moving out and took pictures!
I have obviously fought this, and been told that if i continue to dispute, it can take 8 weeks to return my deposit or i can accept the charges, even though they owed me a deep clean months before !

Ive never experienced such lack of care from a company. They don't not see you as a tenant, but as a number. Thats it. You can fight and fight to be treated correctly but it means nothing to them as long as you are paying.

Please. Find a different company to rent from, do not go through what i have. Save yourself the grief.

We sold the property with DJAlexander,with Sarah.We hoped to sale the property for a whole amount of its valuation,but it’s sold for less(just because the market current tendency and economy global situation,not an agency’s fault).Want to say that the process went good anyway and also would like to mention our solicitor Natasha Temple,who Sarah recommended to me.Natasha was amazing and very professional!So,I can definitely recommend both DJAlexander’s agent Sarah and Natasha Temple as a solicitor.

Probably one of the worst service experiences I have ever had. Reasonable sales pitch when seeking the business but just dreadful once the business was secured. Late payments, arrears at the end of the tenancy, severely damaged property and resistance to correct any of the problems. My advice would be avoid if at all possible.

I recently moved into a new flat and used DJ Alexander's Aberdeen branch to do so. Throughout the experience staff were professional, highly efficient and ensured a smooth process. In particular Patrycja Poscik was incredibly helpful and always responded swiftly to my emails/enquiries. I would highly recommend her services to all others looking to move/rent.

I'm impressed by the good communications at D J Alexander. The contact we have had with Callum Barcham, one of their senior property managers, has been excellent, keeping the landlord and applicant tenants fully updated on changing circumstances. We are pleased with the positive outcome.
