Great cruise reservation service!
I have booked cruises with DLC many times over the years. Yesterday I booked a new one and had another great experience. Leslie was efficient and even tried to find a way to get the cruise cheaper. after everything was arranged, I realized that I had money coming from the cruise line. I contacted Leslie and she was able to have that money applied to my reservation. Leslie was terrific!
My only complaint about DLC is that when you try to contact an agent, if they are not available, you are put on hold for a long time. Yesterday I tried twice to call my agent and both times I was put on hold for 10 minutes, and both times it ended with me hearing a busy signal. I finally decided to email the agent directly. My brother has also experienced this difficulty. This should definitely be improved.

Good experience
I needed to call to book a cruise as I had a specific need and couldn’t do it online. Although there was a longish weight for an agent, when he answered, he was knowledgeable, efficient, and personable. I got a good price and onboard credit bonuses.

Unexpected agency fee tacked onto the specified rate
I booked the cruises at a specified rate. Then when I got the confirmations 2 of the 3 showed an Agency fee of $200 each. I have never been charged this before and was not advised that it would be added on this time. No other agency I have worked with charges such a large fee. It is either no charge or at most $24.95. The charge of $200 without warning is outrageous. it will turn me off from DLC for all future cruises. And I normally cruise about 7 weeks per year.

Thank you for your feedback and for booking with Direct Line Cruises. We certainly understand why seeing a $200 agency fee listed separately on your confirmation could be concerning, especially if you were not expecting to see the charges itemized in that manner.
We have carefully reviewed your reservations and can confirm that no additional fee was added to the total price you agreed to at the time of booking. The $200 amount shown on the confirmation is part of the itemized breakdown of the original total and was already included in the price displayed to you during the online checkout process. Your final reservation total has not been increased beyond the amount you originally authorized.
The charges are structured this way in order for us to provide the more than $300 in onboard credits included with your reservations. We apologize that the way the fee appeared on the confirmation created confusion, as we certainly would never add an undisclosed charge after a client completes a booking.
We sincerely appreciate your business, particularly as a frequent cruiser, and hope this clarification provides some reassurance. We would be happy to review the reservation totals with you directly and confirm that they match the amounts originally quoted and accepted at the time of booking.
