I ordered the lamb biryani from Dilpasand through Deliveroo. The restaurant has a £6 small takeaway biryani, but on Deliveroo it was listed at £15.99 with a Buy One Get One Free offer. Before ordering, I called the restaurant to confirm that the Deliveroo biryani was not the same as the £6 takeaway portion, and they assured me it wasn’t.
The order cost me £17.99 in total. When it arrived, I was very disappointed to find that it was exactly the same small takeaway portion. Even worse, once I opened it, it was obvious the biryani wasn’t fresh.
This all happened while I had guests at home, which made the experience even more embarrassing. I contacted Deliveroo customer support and spoke to Marwa, but I was simply told that nothing could be done and that I should contact the restaurant directly. As the order was placed through Deliveroo, I expected them to take some responsibility and help resolve the issue.
After this experience, I cancelled my Deliveroo Plus subscription and will be using other food delivery apps instead. The poor value, disappointing food quality, and lack of customer support have completely destroyed my trust in Deliveroo. Paying £17.99 for what turned out to be a £6 takeaway portion that wasn’t even fresh is simply unacceptable. Every time I see the Deliveroo logo now, it reminds me of this frustrating experience.
