The Volvo Public Charging service RFID…

The Volvo Public Charging service RFID card is operated by Digital Charging Solutions. My experience has been very unsatisfactory:
1. Despite having a contract with DCS/VPCS and having paid previous invoices on time during a trip through the UK a pre-authorisation amount hold was placed on my debit card every time I charged. I queried this and have been told that the amounts will be released once the monthly invoice is issued. What is the point of having a card/account??
2. Frontline agents do not have access to financial information so everything has to be 'escalated'. No resolution time is offered
3. The current month's charging cost, as indicated on the dashboard, does not reflect the actual costs per sessions (when added up), €20 discrepancy in favour of DCS. The agent was unable to provide explanation
4. The preferred partners discount was not applied to any of my charging sessions (in this case BPpulse). Upon querying this I was told that I have to sign up for a 'package'. There is no package offered on the website. I do have their 'large tariff' package which assures preferred rates.
5. There is complete lack of transparency in their dealings
6. Account was deactivated without prior notice

I’m almost speechless to be honest. Your employees don’t go through security properly and don’t know what each other are saying. They simply point blank ignored my main issue as it doesn’t even exist. They made a billing error resulting in me being charged a lump some without any warning, they just took the money, and won’t even discuss a refund even I’ve no idea what this “service” is and have never used it. Absolutely the poorest service I’ve received.

The devil in disguise

If you see anything with this company mentioned with any affiliation don't go near them. They had an issue with their charging network and billed me for 6 months of activity in one month and took the full payment, despite me querying why the activity wasn't registering. To make it worse 3 years later after closing my account they send a debt collection agency after me for £8, yes £8 with a £10 admin fee, there is a special place in hell for these guys.

I have now received 2 debts from a debt collection agency within a month one for 9 pound one for 97 pound i have paid both without receiving any previous correspondence. The original charges was from the start of 2025

I am now panicking regards my credit file being impacted as I have never had a debt recover letter before and I'm unsure how this works . My remortgage is due and I'm sitting myself please help

Absolute scum of a company

Absolute scum of a company. Charge you, then refund you weeks or even months later, then claim to invoice you, fail to prove they invoiced you, then many, many months later, refer to a debt collector (Debtist).

If anyone has or is thinking of taking a manufacture based charge card, supported by these crooks, cancel/don’t, immediately!

False billing

I have been charged NOK 614 for a charging seesion costing NOK 17 - I stopped charging before it began.
They have never sent me bills through post, e-mail or other channels, then use Debtist to force a payment for a service never given and never billed. Stay away!

Kia, please reconsider your association with these crooks!

These guys operate the Kia Charge service in the UK. When an initial "offer" became a paid "subscription" with no warning or notification, after 10 months a £7/pm subscription cost me £70 of which I recieved nothing. Upon complaining they just told me it was my fault and closed the case. I thought we had laws to stop this type of scam in the UK? Anyway, closed the account and I will be considering other brands when I get my next car in the summer - Kia should reconsider being associated with these crooks.

Betrügerfirma, die Guthaben einfach zu ihren Gunsten vernichtet

Auch ich habe leider schlechte Erfahrungen mit DCS gemacht. Dass es den Laden kein bisschen interessiert, von welchen Erfahrungen Kunden u.a. hier berichten, ist ja schon mal aussagekräftig.
Ich bin mehr oder weniger "gezwungen" zu DCS gekommen, da die Dienstleistung beim gekauften Fahrzeug dabei war. Die Dienste sind so gebrandet, dass man zunächst den Eindruck gewinnt, man hätte es mit dem Fahrzeughersteller selber zu tun ("BMW Charging" usw).

Im Sommer wurde eine Ladung zu einem falschen Tarif abgerechnet, was auch unstrittig ist. Bis es zu einer Gutschrift kam, war jedoch mehrfacher Mailverkehr über Monate nötig, obwohl von Anfang an alle Beweismittel zur Verfügung gestellt wurden.

Der Hammer ist, dass ich diese Gutschrift nicht brauchen können werde, da diese innerhalb von weniger als 1 Jahr abläuft und erst der mit dem Autokauf erhaltene, vom Fahrzeughersteller bezahlte, Gutschein gebraucht wird, welcher 3 Jahre gültig ist. Ein Teil davon wurde durch DCS so einfach vernichtet. Dass ich es nicht schaffe, das für 3 Jahre geplante Guthaben innert 1 Jahr aufzubrauchen, ist mein Problem.

DCS interessiert es einen Dreck.

Unauthorized charges, terrible support, and confusing branding — avoid DCS

I had an account with Kia Charge, which is operated by Digital Charging Solutions GmbH. The service never worked at all — I could not start a single charging session, yet they kept charging my card for a subscription.

After cancelling the account, DCS still charged my card months later without authorization. Their invoices come under their corporate name, not Kia, which is confusing and makes it unclear who is responsible.

Customer support has been extremely unhelpful. They deflect responsibility, provide generic answers, and make it unnecessarily difficult to get a refund. I had to block my card to stop unauthorized charges.

Reading other reviews, this appears to be standard practice: delayed billing, inflated invoices, subscription fees for unused services, and poor communication.

Avoid Digital Charging Solutions GmbH completely — the service is unreliable, the billing is opaque, and the support is nearly nonexistent.

If I could score ZERO stars I would. Avoid this shambolic business.

If I could score no stars I would. I had a BMW EV Charge Card but cancelled it 2 years ago. I did use it once or twice to charge up but without a wide network of BP Pulse and Ionity chargers on my frequent routes I decided to cancel, no drama there or so you'd think...
This weekend I received a letter in the post from Debtist, a company retained by Digital Charging Solutions Gmbh to chase unpaid invoices. They claimed I had not paid for a small EV (£6.50) charge session in November 2022. Now being suspicious I checked the internet and found that DCS had a major data breach in September 2025 so thought this might be a scam letter.
So I phoned DCS customer services. They confirmed the letter was real and that I had failed to pay an invoice in Nov 2022 (3 Years ago!!). So far they have failed to advise me that my data could be at risk!!. Now on to the fun part. I checked my bank statement and there in black and white was my payment to them using the correct references paid well within the timescale in early Dec 2022. The very same payment they said they have never received. I have sent a PDF copy of this bank transfer to the debt collection agency with a note telling them politely to go away and also copied this to DCS. Their customer service colleague advised me on my earlier call that records of unpaid invoices do not get reminders to pay, they just get laid directly off on to debt recovery companies like Debtist. This practice is absolutely shocking... zero customer support. A quick email 3 years ago could have sorted this out without them waiting for 3 years to hit me with a bill that was inflated 10x with fees etc. The whole issue took me 2 hours this morning searching through historic emails and bank statements, I advised them I am going to charge them for my time it took to prove that their systems are shockingly poor and frankly fraudulent. I am now waiting for them to admit they got it wrong and for confirmation from the debt recovery agency their interest is terminated. Lets see what happens!!

BMW Charging: Kundenfreundlichkeit fehlt

Ich bin sehr enttäuscht vom Umgang mit Kunden.
Wir haben lediglich um Information zur ordentlichen Kündigung unseres Vertrags gebeten – daraufhin erhielten wir eine unverschämte Nachricht, in der uns angeblich offene Forderungen und rechtliche Schritte angedroht wurden.

In unserer Buchhaltung ist nichts offen, und wir haben nie eine Rechnung oder Mahnung erhalten. Statt einer sachlichen Klärung kommt sofort eine Drohung – das ist für ein Unternehmen wie BMW absolut unprofessionell und kundenunfreundlich.

Kundenservice sollte anders aussehen. Leider hinterlässt dieser Vorfall einen sehr schlechten Eindruck.

The ChargeMyHyundai (Digital Charging Solutions GmbH) subscription came with my car so I assumed it was a trustworthy company. They not only add significant markups to whatever the CPO charges, but also add charges that the CPO does not (e.g. blocking fees when none are applicable). When challenged they persisted, without citing any (contractual) ground. They ultimately dropped the specific charge, but persisted in their entitlement, without providing any justification. I have ended my contract and reported them to Hyundai and the consumer authorities.

Vær obs på hvem de samarbejder med

De fakturererde mig for en defekt lader i Tyskland (Holmmoor, ved Hamborg), som ikke har registreret at jeg forlod ladestanderen efter endt opladning. De fakturerede mig derfor for et blokeringsgebyr for 40 timer og 141 khw!🤬 Der kan i øvrigt slet ikke være så meget strøm på min bil. Kundeservice er tavs og vender ikke tilbage på email. Det er på grænsen til SVINDEL! Hvorfor skal jeg betale, fordi de bestyrer en defekt laderstander? Undersøg hvem dit ladeabbonement samarbejder med, f.eks Mercedes og BMW.

A company in Berlin that takes money from your bank and ignores your emails..

I rarely have to use public chargers. Last month I noticed monthly deductions had been taken from by bank by this company. My bank cancelled any further payments. I emailed to enquire if this was a subscription I was unaware of and requested cancellation but received no response.
I then received an email with an invoice for a further payment and to notify me that digital charging solutions were unable to take the money from my bank.
I have emailed again, but if I receive no response I will block further communications from this company.

Ich habe eine Smart Guthaben Karte.
Von dieser Guthabenkarte wurde mein letzter Ladevorgang von 26,88 € ordnungsgemäß wie immer
abgebucht.
Da ich eine neue Visakarte bekommen habe und diese bei „smart charge@street“aktualisiert habe, wurde mir dieser Betrag, der schon abgebucht war wieder von Digital Solutions von meiner neuen Visakarte abgebucht.

Nach dreimaligem Anrufen wurde mir immer wieder das gleiche erzählt

Schlimm, das sich Mercedes/BMW auf solche Firmen einlassen.
Ich werde meine Smart (Mercedes) Card verbrennen.😤 Obwohl ich noch 40 € Guthaben auf meiner Smart Lade Karte habe , werde ich das Risiko eine Doppelabbuchung nicht eingehen.

Schlechte Dienstleistung

Mir wurden provisorisch 3x CH 20.00 belastet. Ich konnte den Strom nicht beziehen, weshalb eine Erstattung erfolgen sollte. Bei anderen Anbietern erfolgt dies relativ rasch. Bei dieser Firma offenbar Tage. Ich hoffe, dass die Gutschrift noch erfolgt.
