Great cover but I shouldn’t have to…
Great cover but I shouldn’t have to apply for a new policy to avoid the price hike of the renewal. Quoted £221 for the renewal but took out a new policy for £153, with more cover. Love the cover otherwise, just remember to turn off the auto renew!

We completely understand how frustrating it can feel to see a higher renewal price compared to a new policy quote. We wanted to clarify that renewal pricing is subject to regulatory “price walking” rules (price capping), which mean we’re not able to offer a renewal price that’s higher than what an equivalent new customer would be quoted at that time. However, new business prices can sometimes include introductory discounts or promotional rates that are only available when a policy is first taken out.
At renewal, policies move onto our standard pricing, which reflects the full cost of cover without those introductory offers. This can sometimes make it appear more expensive compared to a new quote, especially if promotions are running at the time so I do understand your frustrations but our prices may not fit everyone.

This company has added the bike insurance to my credit file and my score has dropped over 90 points.

I’m really sorry to hear that you’re unhappy with your experience, this isn’t how we want our customers to feel when taking out a policy with us.
In relation to your concern, when a policy is set up using monthly instalments, this involves entering into a credit agreement. As part of this process, a hard credit check is carried out, which is standard for this type of agreement. Customers are made aware of this during the application before proceeding.

I have no idea what the company is like because I only took the policy out a couple of days ago. I think that asking me to review a company this soon is frankly ridiculous.

We’re sorry to hear you feel this way. Cancellation fees for ending a policy mid-term are standard across most insurance providers, as there are administrative and regulatory costs involved in setting up and cancelling cover before the policy has run its full term. This is also outlined within the terms and conditions of you being insured with us, you will have agreed to these when taking the policy out.
While adding a bike to a home insurance policy can be an option, specialist bicycle insurance often provides additional benefits that may not always be included under standard home cover. These can include features such as accidental damage, theft away from home, higher value limits, and more tailored protection designed specifically for cyclists.
That said, we understand that every customer’s needs are different, and it’s important to choose the cover that best suits your individual circumstances and how you prefer to protect your belongings.
