The Co op prices !!!
The problem I have with co op Is the price charging
Some display prices are not the same at checkout,
Today, the Rountree ice lolly, any 2 packs for £4.00 but on checkout, they charge £6.00
The other day I bought a pack of 4 buns display price £1.85 but it was charged me £2.20,
I pull them about it many times, sometimes they correct, sometimes they argue
I tried several times to order online
I tried several times to order online. Each time was told "We don't deliver to your country." I live in North Wales. There are several Coops in the area. I had to pay a 4th lifetime membershipand got past this hurdle. Last week, afer ordering some 60 GBP of produce, it told me that I was trying to use the wrong payment card. My card had been "saved". But that card had suffered a cat-astrophe and I had a new one. I got nowhere, but had food delivered from ASDA. Have been a member since 1960s.

Got a £70 "fine" for apparently parking for 7 hours in my local co-op. I visited once in the morning and once in the evening to shop. I did not spend 7 hours parked there!
I live 2 streets away and have parking off road and on the street. I also attended the local hospital about 5 miles away while I was supposedly parked in the co-op.
Complained to the manager but was told I had to deal with the parking company. I'll see them in court, and won't bother Co-op with my custom any further.
Mouldy fruit and meat items without use by dates, zero customer service
Thought it was just my bad luck...across 4 orders I had 2 items without use by dates..one meat, the other stale crisps..completely blank BB / Use by dates . Then this week I had bananas that exploded open within hours (never experienced in 5 decades of life) and blueberries with bloom of rot on. (Deliveroo did not keep other items frozen) Contacted Coop and they use no reply emails and a portal for me to upload images and data stamped photos. No action taken..just sent another no reply email. Was diverting all my shopping to Coop after their brave human rights stance ...sadly their honour doesn't extend to food safety standards or respecting customers wish to receive edible unspoiled groceries.

I can not think of a worse shop to visit. Probably the most rude and unintelligent staff I have ever encountered.
The Co-Op in Ifield
The Co-Op in Ifield, Crawley isn't very helpful at all. Went to pick up a parcel from there and the woman behind the counter wouldn't let me have my parcel whatsoever. She kept saying she needed a bar code which I didn't have. I had all the id it was me and a email from the seller letting me know where my parcel was even though DPD said they had delivered it but they hadn't and no card to let me know where it was. Explained this to the woman behild the counter and she would not give me my parcel. She was horrible I won't be going in there anymore whatsoever.
Be very careful writing a review for…
Be very careful writing a review for the co.op they will use it against you and if they really want to they can get you removed from there store ..just like the the little white robots whizzing around your streets ..its no different to the robots inside the store ..they will stick together and remove you ,
Diabolical
Diabolical, 3 weeks ago I placed an order, part of that order was for a £6 breakfast deal, one item wasn't available (didn't say out of stock when I ordered) so they charged me the full price for the other items which totalled double the amount of the deal, when I complained they quoted some policy number said I didn't have a leg to stand on (scam)!
Last week had to cancel after waiting over 3 hours and no delivery and had to go pick my little girl up from school. Today driver turns up with someone else's order, he went back to the store, now I'm not sure what is happening so I ring the store to be told that they have not received my order yet? but I have an order number and email with tracked delivery and someone just tried to deliver someone else's order so how did they get my address? then said it could be another couple of hours but I'll chase it up for you. Said I'll cancel don't bother. (he was nice enough, not his fault)
So NEVER AGAIN. CO-OP you are already in trouble financially and this is the reason why, I know and you know you will cease to trade in the next 12-24 months, had you treated your customers better didn't outprice yourself then I am sure things would have been different for your company. My nan an avid CO-OP customer (her generation) will be spinning in her grave.
Tesco Whoosh on the other hand deliver promptly within 20 mins! I'll give them my business from now on
Staff cannot do too much to help…
Staff cannot do too much to help especially older people. Until recent years demographic has been middle aged and elderly for whom the Coop has been the go to shop. Excellent they take time to be polite, to help in every way possible. Newcomers must recognise this was a community where everyone knew each other for years. If you want a delivery there are bigger supermarkets nearby. This cannot carry the range that larger shops do but they try very hard to meet local needs from early morning to late at night. I cannot fault them.
absolute disgraceful delivery of…
absolute disgraceful delivery of products
i’ve always shopped with co-op ,
but the standard of food lately is diabolical
over the last month i’ve had multiple damaged items (that have clearly not been done by the delivery drivers i will add )
multiple out of date items and items with that days use by date in fact il go as far as saying they have actually sent me slime green bacon !!!!
it’s as if the the co-op are reserving these spoiled damaged and generally unsalable items that the customers refuse to buy
in store
and are instead being sent out for delivery
knowing full fine well you will have to file a complaint online in which they drag there heels in responding too ?
Poor Management - Basingstoke South Ham
Overheard the manager speaking to a member of his staff. He was incredibly condescending and unnecessarily rude right in the middle of the shop floor, in front of a handful of customers. He clearly needs training to be a better manager. I felt humiliated for the member of staff who, in my opinion, did nothing wrong.
Payday and the banking app goes down
Payday and the banking app goes down, great job co-op, not the first time either, the app is very slow always. Bank no problem, banking app utter rubbish
Awful
Awful! Should be, click, WAIT FOR A VERY LONG TIME…THEN collect. Incredibly under staffed. More thought needs to be considered with the footfall.
Co op food delivery is hopeless
Co op food delivery is hopeless. You send me emails about how ethical Co op is and yet you deliver food that's due to expire next day. Im not talking about dairy products. I'm talking about sausages and eggs. Sausages arrived today but will expire tomorrow. This is dishonest and unethical.
Very overpriced
Very overpriced, no range of products. I'd pay £2.50 for chicken tikka slice if I went to a petrol station at 2am because it's the middle of the night and there are obviously higher costs to running a business 24/7 365. However the majority of co-op stores close at 10pm at night, charging £2.50 for a small pastry is ridiculous and that's only one example I can think of. I mean is the pastry gourmet or something? Is it vegan, gluten free and organic? No none of those things. It's just price gouging and greediness by the higher ups as per usual. It's a sad day when you can't pop to your local corner shop and get a quick snack for a resonable price
Substitute charges £4.72 what?!
How wonderful I thought, Co-op have given me a £5 voucher for sales over £30. I went ahead and put £38 of items in my basket to then realise I was being charged for a substitute charge £4.72, as well as £2.99 for delivery. And what if none of my items were substituted? The total was £46 minus the £5 = £41. So no savings.
I purchased some 5% beef mince
I purchased some 5% beef mince, when I opened it came out as this dense spongy gelatinous texture, it was difficult to break up and difficult to ensure it was cooked through.
When I checked the abattoir code on the front, it was halal slaughtered and processed but was not labelled as such.
I feel that I have been deceived into buying something I would never buy given a choice.
£10 worth of meat went in the bin.
At least label it so people have a choice.
Absolutely the worst customer service…
Absolutely the worst customer service from all angles of this company, they do not care or acknowledge customer complaints one bit
Bad to worse.
I have a membership but never get discounted prices for members. False advising fraudulent. This has now happened twice!
Senior management need to start caring!
Ripponden store. Unfortunately I've given the store 2 stars! Not because of choice or the staff but how it has become a 'free for all' and top senior management don't appear to be doing anything about it; leaving both staff and customers vulnerable. I have witnessed many times theft by both young and old just filling up their baskets and walking out without a care in the world, knowing they can get away with it. Once there were 3 guys who got into a waiting car with full baskets and arms full of stolen items. Another time 3 women again with baskets full of stolen items got into a waiting van which was in the carpark, reg covered up! School children filling up their bags and laughing at you when you challenge them. Come on senior management; you know this is happening. You know Ripponden coop has now got a reputation for 'a free for all- take whatever you want'. Stop turning a blind eye to what's happening and do something about it. If you don't care about the loss in profits, then at least care about the safety of your staff and customers. This is ongoing.
