Definitely a great service at such a sensitive time, June was wonderful and definitely took us through and guided us on things with sensitivity and care. Even when things got a little tense and there were hiccups June handled very well and was able to find ways of making it work very well. Funeral Directors were very professional and very helpful on the day too. Would highly recommend

I purchased a pre paid coop funeral plan. The website was easy to use, explained things very thoroughly.
There was a good emphasis on making sure that you were choosing the right plan.

Decided to take out funeral plan and co-op came highly recommended. Their representative Hannah was very informative about all the plans and I felt no pressure at all in choosing or buying a plan.

We sit here today 15mths following my mothers laws burial and still we do not have a date for the stone to be returned. We have this morning been told that the stone would be ready for the 22nd December. Following that permit request and the works to install programmed in. We could be looking at 21mths from the burial.

The people at John Johnson Tunstall were amazing , especially Philip who gave us so much help and support. Our family has dealt with Co Op funeralcare for decades and have always been very satisfied. Many thanks to everyone involved.

We attempted to book my dad's funeral but had to be rebooked due to staffing levels. This took us to one week after long standing offers had finished. We were not advised about this by staff otherwise I would have bought the funeral online myself. We found the f2f consultation impersonal and overall a poor experience. The team member didn't have the best interpersonal skills. The equipment wasn't working (printer not printing and issues with the card machine). Overall not a good experience and only reason we proceeded with purchasing the funeral is due to pressing circumstances- otherwise we would have gone elsewhere.

I chose Co-op Funeralcare because I felt it was a trusted and established brand. I assumed that a company of this size would have good resources, strong customer service and well-coordinated support at what is an incredibly difficult time. When I originally purchased the funeral package over the phone, the gentleman I spoke to was knowledgeable, kind and empathetic to our situation, which gave me confidence that I had made the right choice.

Unfortunately, the experience following my mum's death has not been a positive one.

There have been some elements that were handled well, but there have also been many things that were dealt with poorly, and overall the experience was much more stressful than it needed to be. One of the main reasons I chose to purchase a funeral package in advance was so that, when my mum died, I would not have to deal with so many difficult conversations and decisions immediately afterwards. Sadly, that is not how it felt in practice.

Communication between the different Co-op funeral homes and teams involved was poor. I found myself having to repeat information and chase things that I had already discussed. I raised my concerns on multiple occasions with different people, both at the funeral homes and with head office, and was very clear that I was unhappy with the way things were being handled. Unfortunately, I did not feel that raising those concerns resulted in anything changing.

I also didn't feel that the funeral service was particularly personalised, despite the fact that I pushed on every element to make sure that it reflected my mum rather than feeling generic. At a time when you are grieving, you shouldn't have to work quite so hard to make sure the service feels personal and meaningful.

What is particularly disappointing is that, despite the difficulties I experienced, I have not received a single phone call or email after the funeral simply asking how everything went or whether I was happy with the service. It would have been genuinely helpful to have had the opportunity to talk through what happened and to explain how the experience could be improved for other families.

It is also difficult to reconcile this experience with the fact that I am now being contacted by another Co-op team, the probate team, asking me to choose Co-op to deal with my mum's estate. I understand that this is a completely separate service and that they are trying to win my business rather than chasing me for payment, but after my experience with Co-op Funeralcare, I simply don't have the trust in the brand to want to use another Co-op service.

I am very sad that arranging my mum's funeral has left me feeling this way. At such a difficult and emotional time, I expected Co-op Funeralcare to make things easier, not add to the stress.

Ultimately, I would not choose Co-op Funeralcare again, and I would find it difficult to recommend them based on my experience. I had hoped that choosing a large, established and trusted organisation would give me reassurance at one of the most difficult times of my life. Sadly, it did not.

Fast easy service.

The co op Funeral plan seems straightforward although it’s too early for the documents to arrive but I found the process quite easy and very informative .

The whole experience was explained in detail from start to finish everything was was explained by James Minks he took his time to make sure everything was understood and answered all questions would highly recommend

The staff were very caring, and extremely helpful, at a very difficult and emotional time. Nothing was too much trouble and they provided a lot of comfort to the family.
We would not hestitate to recommend the Co - Op funeral service to anyone.
