Not really a shop suited for disabled customers
**Review: Clarke Aquatics**
**Rating: ⭐⭐☆☆☆**
I recently saw some local media hype surrounding this new store, so I decided to pay them a visit. Unfortunately, the experience was challenging from the very start.
**Accessibility and Logistics**
I initially checked Google to find the address, but the listing states the establishment is "permanently closed." When I called the number provided on the listing, I was confused to find it belongs to an electrical and plumbing firm. After speaking with them, I confirmed they are indeed the same business and remain open, but the phone system only provides options for electrical and plumbing services—there is no clear way to reach the aquatic department.
**Store Environment**
Once inside, the layout is quite difficult to navigate. The aisles are extremely tight; they are barely wide enough for one person to pass through, making it impossible for two people (or children) to walk side-by-side.
More concerning is the safety hazard on the shop floor. There was large pipework lying in the aisles with no signage or warnings, which creates a significant trip hazard. Given how narrow the space is, it is also important to note that the store is unfortunately not accessible for wheelchair users. It seems like the shop would benefit from closing one day a week to manage tasks like water changes and floor maintenance to ensure the space is safe for customers.
**Pricing**
Regarding their inventory, I found the pricing to be a bit steep for this area, especially when compared to other similar stores.
Giving good credit where credit is due, the amount of products avalible is very vast and I feel this is the only good point going for them currently
Ultimately, we didn't end up purchasing anything on this trip. I hope they can address these accessibility and safety concerns soon, and we wish them every success in the future.
