Welcoming,friendly staff.
Beautiful journey through the countryside.
Compensation ticket, because we had a replacement Diesel rather than a steam train.

Lovely overall experience. The train carriage was very clean. The seats were comfortable. The table setting for lunch was really nice. Our drinks were already on our table on arrival. We set off on time and our food was served during our journey. The food was very tasty and hot. The staff were welcoming, friendly and attentive. Asking if we were enjoying our food with each course and if there was anything else we needed. It was good value for money. The only disappointment was that we didn't have a steam engine to pull us. The one we should have had wasn't working, but that was explained to us and we also received a ticket that will allow us a free trip with a steam engine in a non dining carriage at a time of our choosing. Which I thought was a lovely touch. Highly recommended

Only negative was the scenery I was a little disappointed .

We did "Spud & Steam" and enjoyed a jacket potato at the beginning of our steam train journey. I would suggest to arrive at least 45 mins early as the cafe gets busy if you're collecting pre-ordered food. Train journey is lovely, but I would suggest adding a bit of a stoppage at one of the stations so people can get out and stretch their legs. All staff are very friendly and helpful. And overall it was very good value

Steam train ride was lovely had butties and and a brew food was brill. And staff were very friendly.

I arranged a block booking for 25 adults and the service we had was fantastic, everyone commented how well it was run , I have recommended the churnet valley railway to others

Friendly staff on a relaxing 2hour 15 min train journey

Excellent from start to finish. Would recommend without hesitation. Extremely welcoming staff. Food was delicious. Service was faultless. Booking was straight forward. Thankyou for a lovely afternoon.

A lovely, gentle train ride through the beautiful Staffordshire countryside, along with a bacon butty and a brew - the perfect way to spend a summer Saturday morning.
Staff were all friendly and approachable, the station was well looked after and a credit to all the volunteers.
Only one small suggestion for improvement: using the postcode given didn't take us directly to the station so we had a few panicky minutes trying to pin it down! It would have been helpful if the booking details had stated 'Dovedale Road' as well as the postcode. But other than that - perfect 👌

Staff very helpful and attentive

Booking and prepayment was easy. Good large carpark, directed well, fantastic knowledgeable staff and volunteers, good food and drinks, lovely 2 hour train journey. Very good value for money, highly recommended.

It was a truly wonderful experience. Food was lovely. Staff were very friendly and attentive. The murder mystery was very entertaining we didnt work out who did it but had fun trying too.

Brilliant experience the actors were second to none. The train was perfect and the staff were polite and very attentive and professional. Couldn’t fault the food hot n delicious.
