I have experienced the worst customer service at Cannon Hill, Brisbane. There has been absolutely no customer care, accountability or willingness to help resolve an issue with my order. The lack of support and complete unwillingness to work with a customer to find a reasonable solution has been incredibly disappointing. Unfortunately, head office has been just as unhelpful, which makes the whole experience even more frustrating. After this experience, I will never purchase from this store again and certainly wouldn’t recommend it to others.

Pathetic. Don't pre-order from the Launceston store. We always ordered our cheesecakes from the Launceston Tas store and had was very reliable. In the last 6 months we have pre-ordered 2 birthday cakes at different times only to be told on pickup that the cake was not available. once for my birthday and again for our son's birthday for today. Both times I have arrived to pick up the pre-ordered cakes and have been told it was not available. Dishonest staff, pathetic service. I will not ever be ordering from this store again.

they dont seal the box when it comes to handover to customer. what happens next is - you go home and children get excited to see the cake and they are the first who want to take it. when you handover to the kid it automatically falls down to floor like capsize situation. same happened to me. when i called to cheesecake shop ulster street hamilton that why dont you close it properly they say we dobt have much staff and sorry. but they dont say we will nevwr do this again or we will start sealing it from nowonwards. not good . all tour money go into vain .

Extremely disappointed and frustrated with my experience with The Cheesecake Shop, particularly the way my online order and payment issue was handled.

I placed an online order last Friday evening, specifically selecting the Lake Haven NSW store. The money was taken from my account and my credit card was charged, however I did not receive an order confirmation or confirmation number at all via email as per what is supposed to take place.

As I was concerned that the order may not have gone through, I contacted the store to try to resolve the issue. Instead of properly investigating the payment and order details, I was told that I had apparently placed the order with a different store. This is completely false. I specifically selected Lake Haven when placing the order.

I provided proof that the payment had been made, yet despite this, my mother was ultimately made to pay again when she attended the store last Sunday to pick up the cake. This was particularly frustrating because I had already contacted the business and specifically explained the situation and provided evidence of the original transaction.

I was then made to feel as though the problem was somehow my fault because the payment information apparently showed a different business/location. However, anyone who regularly shops online understands that the business name or location appearing on a payment transaction does not necessarily mean that is the physical store where an order was placed. Payments can be processed through head office, a central payment system, or another business entity associated with the company.

The fact remains that I selected the Lake Haven store, the funds were taken from my account, I had proof of payment, and the matter was not properly resolved before my mother was asked to pay again.

This was an incredibly frustrating experience and, more importantly, it demonstrated a lack of communication and willingness to properly investigate what had happened.

The business has now received $80+ for a cake that was $37 online with my discount. Since the Lakehaven store will take no accountability at all and told me they were “too busy” to help in any way. I have had to call and email the head office number with multiple unanswered calls, voicemails and emails, all of which have not been acknowledged since Sunday.

Do yourself a favour and do not use this business as they have zero customer service.

The Cheesecake Shop need to investigate what happened with its online ordering/payment system and to review how situations like this are handled in future. Customers should not be put in a position where they have paid online, can provide evidence of that payment, and are then expected to pay again because the business cannot correctly identify or locate its own transaction. I expect a response accordingly or this matter will be taken to ACCC and Fair Trade.

I bought two Dubai chocolate cakes last Saturday from Palmerston North, and they were a complete disappointment. They looked nothing like the pictures. The pistachio layer shown in the photos was practically nonexistent—instead, it seemed like a little pistachio was just pasted on the outside.

I bought two cakes expecting something special, but they tasted like ordinary chocolate cake. Definitely not worth the price. I felt completely ripped off and wouldn't recommend them based on my experience.

Bought the dubai desert jar as a favour, attracted by the layers of chocolate sponge, chocolate mouse and green pistachio stuff through the jar sides.
In reality, about 4mm of the pistachio stuff had been pipped up against the side of the jar and nothing inside. Other than a layer of green crunchy stuff at the very bottom, it was pretty much just chocolate sponge and chocolate cream.
NOT WORTH the about NZD$16 tag.

Very very disappointed. The Black forest cake should not be called that at all. The one we received there was only 2 cherries within the whole cake (other than the 4 marichello cherries used for decoration) it was dry, the layers were thick and uneven with a very very thin fil barely enough to keep the layers together with no cherry or anything cherry to indicate it was a black forest cake. We purchased the tropical torte and a lemon cheesecake. All 3 were very disappointing, the torte was also very dry. The lemon cheesecake was cracked (old). I have had better black forest cake from woolies which had the cherry filling, pieces of cherry and was not dry or tasteless. These were bought for a 60th birthday and very disappointed. Most of the cake pieces cut were left uneaten

Bought a cake for my daughter birthday yesterday on 16th and every kids has sore tummy and on the 17th I look the cake box it say best before 15. Wow that very disgusting place I wouldn't go back there again. Cheese cake shop at sydenham christchurch shame on you

The Dubai choc cake is a complete rip-off, the pistachio is made to look like a layer but is actually just piped onto the inside of the plastic wrapper of what is otherwise a very average sponge cake. First and last time i will be a customer.

Great service

I recently had my first shift here and, unfortunately, it wasn’t a great experience. I was left at the front alone for several hours on my first day without proper training or guidance. I was expected to answer calls, manage online orders, serve customers, and decorate cakes, being only shown once how things should be done. This made things difficult. They didn’t even give me a proper tour on where things were, such as important necessities like cleaning products, until I asked.

While one of the bakers was very kind and supportive, the overall environment felt unstructured, and I didn’t feel set up to succeed as a new employee. I was told I could ask questions during the shift. Whenever I asked questions, I got a judgemental look and a passive-aggressive attitude. I was shifted for 5 hours; they didn’t even tell me I was entitled to have a 10-minute break. Oh, and in fact, the managers left early. Why would you leave a new employee at the front of the store alone? Is it fair to say that I should have had someone’s guidance? The only two other staff in the store were the bakers, which, of course, because they’re busy focused on the baking. Whenever I turned behind and asked for help, I was judged by one of them. You guys literally asked me to ask questions, and I will state again: why would you leave a NEW employee at the front alone? Let’s make it make sense.

Even though for my first shift I think I did great, considering there was close to no guidance, I still decided to ask for feedback so I can grow and learn from mistakes I could have potentially made. After asking for feedback so I could improve and come in better prepared, my following shift was cancelled. They didn’t even tell me i no longer had the job, where’s the communication? i found out because i was blocked out of there roster app.

The cakes and products are lovely, but from an employee perspective, better onboarding and communication would make a big difference for new staff. very unprofessional.

Awful afternoon tea experience. Sat by door in busy shop. Staff were too busy to check on us. Food was mediocre.
If you are offering a high class high priced experience please have a separate area or a quiet side room for this. After looking forward to this for months, would never go again unless the expense matches the experience.

Beyond disappointed! We ordered a Pinata fun cake for my daughter’s birthday, they didn’t honour the Black Friday deal even though their website wouldn’t accept the code. Then we cut into the cake and all the chocolates inside were all glued together and the cake was I don’t know how to describe it, because it tasted like it had been in a freezer too long and it was dry and tasted awful! We had to throw it away!
My daughter was really disappointed, I rung the shop spoke to a gentleman who said he’d have to wait until his partner came in and they’ve avoided me ever since!
The old owners were amazing, I won’t be buying from the new owners again, I’ll be heading to the frankston store in future!

Got my daughter’s birthday cake yesterday Double choc strawberry torte. We have gotten it every year for every person in our family from the cheesecake shop in birkenhead and its amazing but this time there was barely any filling and it was very dry. No one finished their slice and no one will eat the rest of the cake. Very disappointing as we were all looking forward to it.

Oh my goodness. My partner thinks this is a treat and has bought for me on several occasions. I actually googled does it contain cheese? It is truly awful. Whispy, sugary coconut filled crud. Stop. Please. May the universe bless us and send these sad fkrs out of business

I’m got a dressed pavlova for Christmas, I know this is a busy time, but not removing the rind on any fruit (oranges and kiwi fruit) and leaving the greenery on the strawberries, ruined the dessert, we took the fruit off and replaced it with our own. Probably the last year I will order

We celebrated our 15th anniversary with a sweet Black Friday treat from The Cheesecake Shop, and it couldn’t have been better. My all-time favourite, the Wildberry Baked Cheesecake, was once again the star—rich, creamy, and bursting with flavour. The American Baked Cheesecake, Tiramisu Torte, and Black Forest Torte followed closely behind.

Each cake felt beautifully handcrafted, made with quality Tasmanian cheese and berries that truly elevate every bite. The Black Forest and Tiramisu Torte are absolute must-tries, offering the perfect balance of sweetness, softness, and freshness.

A delightful experience worth every celebration.

I just wanted to say the Red velvet cake is amazing and even the non cake lovers loved it.
It tasted like a cheery ripe.

Ordered two cakes to pick up, was called about 30 minutes later to tell us one of the cakes was not available AND that they would be closing at 4pm (two hours early). When I asked for a refund was told I would have to go to the shopfront for it.
Luckily was able to get the cakes at a second location nearby, barely.

We asked for a refund but said can’t be done online have to write to head office for a refund
They have no understanding of customer service
Why do they have the cake on line then can’t deliver and can’t do a normal online refund
