Worse experience ever
Worse experience ever ! Do not use these guys because you will be ripped off! I signed up through my dental office for invasline to pay off because they recommended them for the 0% interest. But it’s a trap! The second you enroll with these guys they hit you with card insurance for 1.6 of what you owe. Like seriously? I never missed a payment and I dumbly set up auto pay not checking it bc I was like it’ll be payed soon. I was very stupid to not check in because to my horror 1000 of my dollars went to some insurance for a card I don’t even use! I am beyond pissed. I’m working and hoping to get my money back.
Beware of hidden fees and credit…
Beware of hidden fees and credit reduction with just cause and notification!!!!
Avoid at all cost there fees are ridiculous worst than a credit card
They charged me an extra 10 bucks for some card security, then somehow my payment was late and that’s a 30 dollar fee. I finally settled everything and went to make my due payment and they charged me literally my whole bill. Idk how a 67 dollar payment became a 671 dollar payment. I called to dispute and they said I had to wait 10 days. But I’m actually looking at the statements and it’s supposed to be interest free for a year and they’ve been charging interest to me. How can a late payment be more than my minimum payment?
Worst credit card ever!
Worst credit card ever!! Never use this card. They are scumbags that take advantage of someone and do not care you pay more than the minimum payment each month to turn around and charge you $81. Interest charge. When I called these POS they basically told me this is what I signed up for. Well I'll make it my mission to tell the world how sorry you are. It should be illegal what they get away with.
AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE.
AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE.
If you are thinking about opening a CareCredit account, READ THE REVIEWS FIRST. I wish I did !!!
DO NOT OPEN A CARECREDIT CARD.
This has been one of the most frustrating financial experiences I have ever had. After I PAID OFF MY ENTIRE BALANCE (which was increasing 35% + every month) I received another $76 interest charge afterward. And when you try to fight it, you discover it's impossible to get any support.
What I thought was simply a way to finance a bill turned into a constant cycle of charges, confusion, and frustration. Once you're in, it feels like there is always another fee, another charge, another obstacle.
I am sharing this because I wish someone had warned me before I opened the account.
PLEASE READ THE REVIEWS. DO YOUR RESEARCH.
For me, the lesson is very clear:
NEVER. AGAIN.
STAY AWAY FROM CARECREDIT.
Not very IT savvy and poor customer service
I tried to apply for Care Credit. They send a link to open and you have to do a video of your face but even though you give access to your camera fir this step you cannot continue to take the picture. All I get is my camera is not working even though I gave access. I did a diagnostic check and there is nothing wrong with the camera on my iphone. I called Synchrony to tell them the link is not working and they are not very helpful. Keep telling me to try again but I get the same result and then after about 3-4 tries the link does not even ask for access to your camera. I talked to an Apple tech and he said it is not my phone camera. I call Synchrony and get told by a manager they can send me something to mail in and that it can take 30 days to process. I said I will try the link again and still does not work so when I call back to request the mail in process they tell me they don't do that. Very poor customer service.
Received a line of credit for LASIK
Received a line of credit for LASIK. Apparently the line of credit had promotional financing that expired 1 year later. They expect you to download a pdf statement to see this information otherwise the expiration of the promotional financing was buried at the bottom of an email. There is zero notification through the portal you are asked to join on MySynchrony to view and pay your bill. I payed the just over the minimum for a year and randomly logged in to discover I had been back-charged the interest from the start. I now owe more than the original amount. When I called to ask if they could roll it back and let me pay off the credit line they bounced me between account managers who said their manager could not take phone calls. They each said that, "there was a 30 day grace period, but because you are 2 days after the end of that period there is nothing they can do, you should have checked your monthly statements."
They were very sneaky at charging the back-interest and completely unyielding when on the phone with their customer service call center with managers who had accents so strong they were difficult to understand.
The lack of transparency alone is a huge reason to avoid using their service. I wasn't given a choice as they were what the LASIK center used. I feel scammed and cheated and hate carecredit for not caring at all. Avoid at all costs.
shady as f***
I used my credit card and the next day they closed my account due to inactivity. Now I cannot go online and pay or look up my balance. They could tell me that there is a direct payment option that is set up from years ago and will be coming out each month. They would NOT tell me which account this money will be coming out of!
Ticked off in WV
I have used Care Credit for chiropractic care for about 3 years, and although they had a "No interest promotion" running when I signed up, they still charged me 32-37 percent interest. I submit payments well over the payment amount, and have stopped using the card, but cannot seem to get it paid off. I have another credit card with a reputable bank which offers 0% interest if paid off within one year. I have been trying to transfer the Care Credit balance and they refuse to transfer it. I have called Care Credit and was told "No, we don't do that". When I asked the lady that I spoke with, "so I can't use a credit card and pay this off?" she replied with a solid "no". Care Credit is a ripoff! I like the Synchrony site, in that I have all of my credit cards right there when I sign in, but Care Credit sucks.
Beware - Care Credit
Don’t use Care Credit!
After settling my bill in full, I was shocked to find additional, unauthorized interest fees tacked onto my account after the transaction had already been completed. When a customer pays a final bill, the transaction should be closed. Sneaking in extra charges after the fact is completely unethical, misleading, and borders on outright fraud.
Do not use this company
Do not use this company. They just closed the account without notice. Didn't owe them, didn't do anything wrong. I hope they go out of business very soon.
I opened an account with care credit to…
I opened an account with care credit to get new dentures for $4000 over 18 months. I paid every month over $250 so I word have it paid in 18 months. Zero balance on account.
Now I am done OR so I thought. All this happened in the last 3 weeks. Now I get an alert from one of the 3 main Credit Reporting. My alert said
I have a negative account with card credit. I did everything right. Paid on time and have a zero money I owe on
that account.
I call in today and after 5 calls finally get to speak to a customer service
person. My question is Why was I reported to the 3 main credit score
places? She says I don't know!!
So now Care Credit is suppose to file a dispute. My credit score went down 30 points.
I will have to check at the end of the month to see if it is taken off. I DO
NOT trust this company.
Beware when using this company as to what just happened to me.
I see others are having lots of problems too. I guess I will also try filing with Consumer Protection Service. This is not right and the company needs to be checked out.
Absolutely useless
Absolutely useless, and now because of them, I have no coverage for my dogs surgery. I was fully approved after providing my ssn and income for the loan I needed. It just needed my driver's license pics. I used the app, but it didn't recognize the back of my dl. I tried multiple times; eventually it timed out and said the link has expired. Then when I went back to the link, it was still expired. I tried going through the process again and this time it said I was denied for the exact same loan I was just approved for (literally signing the contract for). I called and it took 20 calls to talk to someone. I kept getting rerouted by the robo operator. When I was finally rerouted, I was told I was denied. When I told them I wasn't, they said their system said I was. I looked it up, if the app closes out because it sucks and can't take a good Pic, it AUTOMATICALLY denies you and any future attempt; all because the app failed. I called back to explain, but was provided no support. Absolutely awful, I wish I could give no stars. Gonna have to find an alternative so my dog doesn't die now all because they're too inept to deal with a broken app issue.
Deceiving tactics and predatory pricing
This company acts like a savior company to just turn around and change your payment plan if you have to use it more than once. Then they charge you 30+ percent interest. They have a misguided moral compass.
Snare and Gotcha!
The ads are for "promotional time" to pay at no interest.
We had a couple bills under $1000 and were given up to 18 mos. to pay them. Fine, although they increase your Minimum payment without notice..*SNAP*-DEAL'S OFF if you don't catch that. Highest Interest rate going. No savings/favors there. Then we had an almost $5K Vet bill. OUCH. Put it on this card...after never late, always over minimum payments from us - they gave us 6 MONTHS to pay it off or the hatchet comes down. Tried to edit a canceled ph# from within my own account on the website-you have to send a video of yourself to do that! Silly. Will pay balances and NEVER come back here. It's a snare..
Just awful
Just awful. Hidden fees, high interest rates, awful customer service
Care credit tells you that you are…
Care credit tells you that you are prequalified, then tells you that you are not. I have excellent credit was requesting only what matches my monthly income and I was declined. Wondering who does actually qualify??? Not the folks who need it.
Beware!
I paid off a mental health hospital bill with my care credit account online at the hospital’s website. When the option didn’t come up to offer me 3-12 months at 0% interest to pay off the bill with care credit, I texted care credit . I asked the representative why it is not showing the bill I paid under a promotional 0% interest and why it didn’t give me the option of how many months I want to pay it off, I was told it would show when the transaction was completed. At that moment it was still in a pending status. I could have requested to have the transaction cancelled if I hadn’t been lied to.
So the next day I checked on the charge and it showed the transaction completed but still not listed under a 0% promotion. So I used my previous ticket number and reached back out to care credit. This time I was told that the service provider has to offer the promotion to me at the time of service. I explained AGAIN that I paid this bill online the previous day and was told the promotion would be applied once the transaction completed. This new representive assured me this was not the case and the service provider is not listed as a medical provider anyway. What? I asked for a supervisor.
The supervisor told me that he cannot stop/reverse the transaction now that it is complete and I’m not allowed to pay it off with another lower interest bearing credit card, BUT he said I could pay it off with a balance transfer. Ok. A hassle but not insurmountable.
My husband opened a credit card with our bank that has a 0% balance transfer for 12 months just so we could move the balance from the care credit account to this new credit card but I was wary. I have another $3k ambulance bill I wanted to put on the care credit card before doing a balance transfer and paying the care credit off, but I was worried. What if care credit or my bank pull some other hijinks. So I called and confirmed my bank doesn’t have any issues with doing a balance transfer with care credit but I may want to check with care credit to make sure they don’t reject the payment. Again what?
So this time I call. I call in person so there is no misunderstanding or miscommunication. The rep I spoke said they accept balance transfer and gave me the address to mail the check. I was just about ready to hang up when I confirmed that all I would have to do is give the address she gave me to the credit card company and tell them I want to do a balance transfer with my care credit account and they won’t need anything else? This is when she said that they do not accept payments from credit cards. If I want to send a check to that address then I can. Ok. Final time. What???? I informed the rep that balance transfers are when you pay off one account with another, usually another credit card, because the transaction she was describing is called PAYING OFF THE BALANCE!!! EVERY CREDIT CARD WILL LET YOU DO THAT!!!!
So it appears as though not only am I F’ed by the hospital and ambulance company but I’m being F’ed by care credit.
In the 15 pages of small legalese they send you when you first sign up for a care credit it probably tells you all this, but I read it and checked with my lawyer as much as the rest of the saps with a care credit card. Beware!
Surprising Finance charges
I used CareCredit to finance $5,000 in hearing aids and was told my monthly payment would be $179 until the balance was paid off. I set up automatic payments specifically so I wouldn’t have to monitor the account every month.
On 7/1/2026, I was suddenly charged $2,635.64 in interest, with no warning. When I called, I was told my “promotion” had ended — a promotion I was never informed about, never agreed to, and never received any notice for as it approached the end. They offered a 30‑day grace period, which I only learned about because I happened to catch the charge by chance.
I paid off the balance immediately, and they agreed to waive the fee. But on the next statement, they added another $65 interest charge, even though my account showed a credit balance. I had to call again (after another hour‑long wait) to get that removed. Then I was told I had to call back again a week later to request a refund of my credit balance, and then wait 7–10 days for a check.
Every step required long hold times, multiple calls, and no accountability for their lack of communication. If I hadn’t caught the charges myself, I would have been stuck paying thousands in surprise interest.
Predatory!!!
They have processed my payments incorrectly multiple times. This has left me so upset because I make my payments on time every month and yet they have hidden my so called expired promotional purchases with balances due, which never had their payment allocated correctly for my statement so that I keep getting charged interest and when I called, they keep telling me that I’m unable to file a dispute because they can’t track down how my payments were allocated incorrectly. This is such a predatory company. Please do not trust CareCredit.
