This is a straight-up fraudulent car rental scam operating right at Heraklion Airport (CNG, also known as Car N Go and under similar shady names). They lure you in with ridiculously low online prices, but once you're there – exhausted after your flight – the nightmare begins.
They refuse to accept credit cards properly (sudden "problems" with the terminal), push hard for cash payment, slap on massive hidden surcharges and extras you never agreed to, and then demand an outrageous cash deposit / block over €1000. When you return the car (even with tons of photos, videos, and witnesses proving zero new damage), they magically "find" scratches and dents that weren't there before. They charge you hundreds of euros anyway, inventing fees and ignoring all your evidence.
It's a deliberate, predatory system: They know you're under massive time pressure because your return flight won't wait. They argue, delay, and bully you into paying up just to catch your plane. The local police seem to do absolutely nothing – these crooks have been scamming tourists for years, probably with some protection or bribes in place, as nothing ever changes.

Brokers and comparison sites keep feeding them customers for their commissions, apparently not caring that people get robbed. This isn't a rental company; it's organized theft targeting stressed tourists.

WARNING TO EVERYONE: DO NOT BOOK WITH CNG / Car N Go / carandgo.gr at Heraklion Airport – or any suspiciously cheap deal that leads there. Use reputable international brands only, even if it costs a bit more. Save yourself the stress, money, and rage. Zero stars – they deserve to be shut down!

I WAS ASSAULTED AT THIS LOCATION BY THE ATTENDANT
**** They marked the place as “Permanently closed” on GOOGLE so we can't lower the rating and change the name to CNG but still as CarAndGo.gr. Unfortunately, this SCAM IS STILL OPERATING AS CARANDGO.GR ****
Do not rent from this place. They made up a 150 euro cleaning fee out of nowhere and also ASSAULTED ME.

It all started when we went to pick up the car. They gave us a car that was WORSE than the one we paid for and also invented a fee of 18 euros. When we returned the car, we cleaned and vacuumed it, but there were a FEW grains of sand. The attendant insisted on a 150 euro cleaning fee. I explained that since it's a beach environment, sand is unavoidable; even the ground in Crete has sand in the city. He then told me to clean it by hand if it was so little, to which I asked who he thought he was to talk to me like that. He got agitated and started hitting me with a clipboard around my ribs, trying to provoke me into starting a fight and lose my temper. I remained calm because he was 1.65 meters tall and a arrogant person, probably with mental issues. He only stopped because I threatened to call the police. Of course, a big brute suddenly appeared to defend the attendant and ordered me to leave.

I am attaching today's photos proving that this terrible place is still open, but it would be much better if it were PERMANENTLY closed along with the attendants who should be in jail. I didn't call the police because my flight was in less than 1:30 hours.

Ich habe weltweit schon viele Autos gemietet, aber CARANDGO am Flughafen Heraklion war mit Abstand die miserabelste und frustrierendste Erfahrung, die ich jemals machen musste. Diese Firma hat meinen Urlaub ruiniert.

Der Mitarbeiter vor Ort behauptete stur und ohne jeden Beweis, dass meine Kreditkarte nicht funktionieren würde. Das war schlicht falsch. Ich habe dieselbe Karte wenige Minuten später bei zwei anderen Autovermietern am Flughafen genutzt, beide Zahlungen gingen sofort durch. Meine Bank bestätigte ebenfalls, dass meine Karte absolut fehlerfrei war.

Und trotzdem wollte der Mitarbeiter plötzlich mehrere hundert Euro in bar von mir haben und zusätzlich einen Teil der Kaution ebenfalls in bar. So etwas habe ich wirklich noch nie erlebt. Diese Vorgehensweise wirkte extrem unseriös und hinterließ bei mir ganz klar den Eindruck, dass man hier versucht, Touristen zu unlogischen Barzahlungen zu drängen.

Der Mitarbeiter war unfreundlich, abweisend und komplett unkooperativ. Er zeigte keinerlei Interesse an einer Lösung, keinem Versuch eines erneuten Kartenversuchs, keinem Ansatz von Kundenservice. Ich fühlte mich regelrecht abgewimmelt und unter Druck gesetzt.

Das Ergebnis war eine komplette Katastrophe:
Ich habe über zwei Stunden verloren, nur weil ich mich mit diesem unglaublichen Verhalten auseinandersetzen musste. Am Ende stand ich ohne Auto da und musste auch noch ein Taxi nehmen, um überhaupt weiterzukommen. Genau das, was man im Urlaub absolut nicht gebrauchen kann.

Diese Erfahrung war nicht nur schlecht, sie war respektlos, chaotisch und völlig unprofessionell. Für mich ist klar:
Wer seinen Urlaub nicht zerstören lassen will, sollte CARANDGO Heraklion unbedingt meiden.

Rekenen dan 620 euro aan, die in orde gekomen is via de verzekering die we zelf moesten contacteren !Volgende huurder zal waarschijnlijk dezelfde voorruit moeten betalen wegens een klein krasje, geen barst .Bedriegers zijn het, lichten de verzekering keer voor keer op

I recently used Car & Go for a rental in Crete, and I have to say the experience left a lot to be desired.

First of all, the directions to find their rental stand were completely misleading. They tell you to take a right turn, but in reality, the stand was the furthest to the left with no signage to guide us. That was just the beginning.

We arrived just after 9 p.m. (around 9:05) and were immediately hit with an unexpected 40-euro late fee. This charge was buried in the fine print in the tiniest text possible, and it felt incredibly unfair, especially since we were only a few minutes past the hour and the staff took their time to even address us. That fee ended up being about half of our entire rental cost.

On top of that, the car itself wasn’t in great shape. It wasn’t provided with a full tank of gas, and it had numerous dents, scratches, and even some rust. We made sure to document everything with a video, especially because we picked it up at night, and the agent seemed annoyed that we were so thorough. Later, when we returned the car, they questioned us about damage that was clearly pre-existing—luckily, we had the video to prove it.

In the end, while the car itself drove fine, the overall experience felt a bit shady and definitely not transparent. If we had known about the hidden fees and the condition of the car, we would have chosen another rental company.

I am now currently waiting for a refund on the amount that’s been put on hold.

Ich habe ein Auto bei Carandgo für ein Zeitraum von eine Woche in September gemietet. Bei der Fahrzeug Übergabe habe ich das Fahrzeug fotografiert, das war ein Fahrzeug, das weißen Lack hatte und relativ neue war.ich müsste nur vor der Rückgabe dem Auto eine Autowäsche machen,was ich nie von einem Autovermieter gehört habe ,aber kann mann das so stehen lassen.
Als ich das Auto wieder abgeben wollte ,habe ich die Autowäsche natürlich vergessen und wenn ich das ohne Autowäsche abgeben kostet 40 Euro on top.Nach hin und her waren die einverstanden mit 20 Euro,wo ich das eingesehen habe,wenn das deren Bedingung ist.
Jetzt kommt der Trick mit Abzocke,der Mitarbeiter prüfte,ob irgendwelche Kratze am Auto waren und sehr gezielt zeigte er mir bei dem linken Kotflügel einen Kratzer, was sehr merkwürdig vorkam,das kann mann am besten bei den Bilder vorher nachher sehr gut erkennen. Ich dachte zunächst, daß es kein Schaden ,sondern irgendwas anderes ist.ich hab dann mit Wasser das sauber machen wollen und sieh mal an ,da ist einer eindeutiger Kratzer ,und wenn mann das letzte Bild vergrößert, sieht mann eindeutig, daß es kein Ratscher ist ,sondern das wurde mit einer wasserlöslichen Farbe beilackiert worden,unfassbar genial, weil gerade bei ganz hellen Farben wird so etwas bei den Aufnahmen nie auffallen.
Ich könnte natürlich nichts machen ,weil bei der Übernahme, auf den Fotos könnte ich es nicht mehr beweisen, daß der Schaden von mir ist.eindeutig ein Betrug um die Versicherung zu bescheißen,die ich in Deutschland abgeschlossen hatte,unfassbar,so etwas habe ich in der letzten 30 Jahren nie erlebt. Das ist absolute Frechheit und offensichtlich mit Ansage BETRUG.
Falls ihr da ein Auto mieten, achtet bitte auf den Betrugversuch ,am besten diese niederträchtige Autovermietung vermeiden. 500 Euro haben sie kassiert für diesen Schaden.ich bin bis heute SPRACHL8S und SCHOCKIERT.
Ich hoffe,daß diese Betrüger irgendwann mal die betrügerische Praktiken heimzahlen müssen und sich schämen wie sie Leute verarschen.

Nous sommes victimes d’un service organisé pour soutirer de l’argent au client.
Ayant récupéré un véhicule bleu foncé de nuit avec de nombreux points d’impacts sur une peinture terne et fatiguée nous avons eu la désagréable surprise d’être facturés ( 350 euros) pour une légère trace de frottement sur l’aile avant. Trace difficile à détecter de jour et impossible à voir de nuit.
En analysant la restitution du véhicule il est évident que ces personnes sont rodées. En lisant les avis sur cette entreprise nous sommes nombreux à subir le même scénario.
Pendant combien temps nous allons laisser ces pratiques perdurer ?

È una truffa .Attenzione perché se prenotate alla fine vi trovate con una piccolo graffio, vi fanno pagare l’assicurazione dicendo che poi la rimborsano e poi invece Garjet non la rimborsa. Da denuncia

CarandGo Heraklion- bad/ scam / avoid

Wie andere habe auch ich unangenehme Erfahrungen machen müssen. Da würde eine "Altersgebühr" von 50% erhoben, dazu dann noch eine Gebühr für Kreditkarten Zahlung, die ich mit Barzahlung abwenden könnte, was andere Vermieter gar nicht akzeptieren. Bei Rückgabe würde dann moniert, dass ich nicht durch eine Waschanlage gefahren bin. Alles das steht im Vertrag, den man vorher zugeschickt bekommt - im Kleingedruckten. Bei der Buchung selbst kommen diese Gebühren nirgends vor. Insofern empfinde ich diese Vorgehensweise sehr nahe am Betrug.

I can only praise car&go i hired a car for12 days late sept 2025 i found the collection point within 10 mins of looking but i did read the instructions. Car wasnt brand new it was a cheap price it gave good service & i looked after said car as if it was my own. the staff were good i wasnt scamed & will use them again next year

dei truffatori state alla larga non prendevo nulla da questi , per un graffio hanno voluto 300€ nonostante avessimo la copertura assicurativa totale .

Le 25 septembre, j’ai loué un véhicule auprès du site Carjet.com (Loueur CARANDGO.GR) à l’aéroport d’Héraklion. Le personnel de cette compagnie est extrêmement désagréable, l'accueil est exécrable. Alors qu’il m’avait été annoncé un véhicule de marque Volkswagen, on m’a remis un modèle Skoda et il m’a été demandé un supplément de 18 € si je souhaitais régler par carte bancaire, contrairement au tarif initialement convenu, l'état des lieux du véhicule s'est fait à 20h30, dans la nuit et de matière expéditive !
5 jours après, le 29 septembre à 14h, au moment de restituer le véhicule, j’étais en train d’accomplir les formalités administratives avec un agent de l’entreprise, dans le bureau situé à quelques mètres du parking extérieur. Pendant ce temps, un autre agent m’a demandé les clés et est allé seul inspecter le véhicule, garé à environ cinq mètres de moi. Deux minutes plus tard, il est revenu m’appeler en affirmant avoir constaté une rayure sur le par choc arrière gauche.
Je précise que cette rayure, minuscule et à peine visible, n’était pas présente lorsque j’ai pris le véhicule. J’ai alors constaté qu’elle se trouvait à un endroit bas de la carrosserie, exactement là où l’agent s’était penché un bon moment en l’examinant. Dans ces conditions, il est tout à fait possible et même vraisemblable, que le dégât ait été causé à ce moment-là !
L’agent m’a immédiatement annoncé un coût de 590 € pour cette prétendue réparation. Face à mon étonnement et à mon refus, il m’a menacé de prélever la somme directement sur ma caution de 1 000 €. Après insistance de sa part, il m’a proposé de "négocier" en ramenant la facture à 300 €, à condition que je règle sur-le-champ. Dans un contexte de forte pression, mon vol étant imminent et mon temps très limité, j’ai dû céder et payer ces 300 € afin de récupérer ma caution.
Je considère cette situation comme une véritable escroquerie, une "prise en otage" ! l’agent a inspecté volontairement le véhicule sans ma présence, ce qui ouvre la possibilité d’une manipulation, le montant demandé pour une rayure quasi invisible était totalement disproportionné, la réduction immédiate proposée confirme le caractère abusif de la démarche.
Ces pratiques jettent une ombre sur mon séjour, alors même que j’avais été enchanté par l’accueil des habitants, la qualité des services touristiques et la beauté de la région. De plus, en consultant les avis en ligne après coup, j’ai constaté qu'énormément de voyageurs avaient été victimes de manœuvres similaires de la part de cette même société. De telles pratiques de voyous, nuisent gravement à l’image d’Héraklion, à la Crète et plus largement à la Grèce.

Avoid this car rental company as you will definitely get ripped off. I took the photo before rent and after, but thats not visible on the photo !!!!!!!

Cauzione di 900 €!l!! Mai pagata una cauzione cosi alta!! Ho restituito l'auto il 29 agosto ma ad oggi, dopo 17 giorni , non mi hanno ancora sbloccato le 900 euro sulla carta di credito!! Inspiegabile! Tutta valuta per loro! Devi anche far lavare la macchina a tue spese prima della restituzione.

Pay attention to Car and Go, a scammer affiliate of Carjet.
Only their cars, among dozens of cars parked on the street, very significantly (try to understand), are damaged by vandalism overnight (e.g. broken rear-view mirrors and scratches on the paint).
The Car and Go business is on damaged and scratched rented cars (old and without maintenance) to charge damage amounts that even exceed the value of the rented vehicle.
They will try to keep the bail amount.
Do not communicate the exact address of your stay in Crete so, despite the satellite locator, they will be more afraid to track down the car to damage it (I hope one day they will be arrested)
Advice
If you have already booked pay attention. To return the vehicle, arrive BEFORE the departure time of your plane, you may need time (Two or more hours).
Once you have returned the car and marked on the sheet that there is no other damage, photograph the form.
If not call the POLICE immediately.

2 - non date il vostro indirizzo esatto di soggiorno a Creta e parcheggiate in aree videosorvegliate.

Le loro macchine (solo le loro in mezzo a decine di altre parcheggiate in strada) vengono 'magicamente' vandalizzate di notte (qualcosa tipo la rottura di specchietti retrovisori o graffiano la macchina).
Sicuramente è il noleggiatore - a guadagnarci su questa pratica - poiché cercherà di trattenere l'importo della cauzione, nel mio caso € 950, importo che superava, sempre nel mio caso, il valore del veicolo.
Consiglio: se danneggiano - i soliti ignoti - la tua autovettura - e se sei certo, come lo sono io che ho visto cosa è successo, che la responsabilità sia da imputare alla condotta fraudolenta del noleggiatore - devi far risultare la verità, ossia che il danno non è di tua responsabilità.
A tal fine, per la riconsegna recati in aeroporto con almeno tre ore di anticipo rispetto alla partenza del tuo aereo, il tempo potrebbe servirti a resistere alle richieste di questa gente.
Una volta riconsegnata l'auto e annotato sul foglio che non ci sono danni (piuttosto chiamate la polizia in caso di resistenza da parte dei noleggatori) fotografate il modulo.

Oplichters!! Niet huren via dit bedrijf! Als je de wagen voor 9 u komt halen of brengen reken ze 60 euro extra. Tegen ons zeiden ze dat zij de wagen ging wassen,eens we de wagen terug bracht moesten we 150 euro betalen.. veel discussie gehad en bijna gevochten zo een agressieve gast. We hadden de wagen besteld via car jet, dus wisten we niet dat ze zo slechte reviews hadden. Nooit meer via car jet... met zo reviews zouden ze niet meer met dit bedrijf samen mogen werken..

mi hanno chiesto 200 euro in cash non accettavano carta di credito solo cash per fare assicurazione che avevo già pagato a Carjet, inoltre lo stesso è passato ad altre 3 coppie arrivate da Bergamo con stesso aereo, ho dovuto perdere soldi che avevo pagato e rivolgermi ad altro noleggiatore auto Piu professionale. sono rimasto malissimo per il comportamento e il modo di trattare poco pulito, ho noleggiato tantissime volte auto in vari paesi interazionali, non mi è mai capitato una cosa simile.

This was not noticeable on the initial inspection and even when the employee pointed it out to me. Highly suspicious when he found it from a walk around. They charged me 510 euros for the damage to the vehicle. Avoid this car rental company as you will definitely get ripped off. The car was a grey Skoda Fabia.

Véhicule au top mais malheureusement le cliché négatif du loueur de véhicule : carte bancaire qui ne passe pas comme par hasard, paiement demandé en cash, caution de 1800 euros débitée et cerise sur le gâteau au retour, une petite surfacturation de 550 euros demandée pour une rayure sur le plastique en bas de caisse. Bien évidemment, tu es pris à la gorge car ton avion va décoller donc ben tu paies quoi....(Avec le petit sourire narquois "c'est dommage que vous n'ayez pas souscrit l'assurance"...). Bref, bon courage.
