We've used Canopy and Stars multiple times to book staycations over the past few years. They have so many locations to chose from and such a variety of accommodations - treehouses, geodomes, shepherd's huts, yurts - with every experience being different but never less than fantastic. We've booked stays as a couple, as a family of 3 and as a family of 4. We've always found somewhere to suit our needs and always make incredible memories. Muddy walks in the pouring rain, burning Marshmallows on the fire, long chats with the farmers donkeys, or just stopping and sitting and taking it all in. Whether you're on a tight budget or looking to splash the cash - Canopy and Stars has a special somewhere for you.

What a little gem Lichen cabin is! Gorgeously rustic; secluded and peaceful but with access to so many good walks. The Wye Valley is stunning at any time of year, but even more so in the autumn. We appreciated the extra touches - fresh flowers, a lit fire, good coffee. The sculpture garden was a real treat, especially with it not being open to general visitors over winter; we had the place to ourselves. Being able to book a holistic treatment on site was another positive. A place to truly unwind and relax.

Canopy under the stars is great they have so many places to stay from lodges to glamping your sure to find your perfect stay.booking is easy and great that you can pay over time.we stayed at bus in the meadow it was great.a break with a difference and the outdoor bath was amazing.

The Cleave tree house in Windout Farm was beautiful, booking was easy and very good communication from the owners.
All information on how to contact the owners and about the tree house was detailed and easy to read.
The description of the tree house was exacaly what it said and we were not disapointed. The Tree house had everything we needed inside with good quality and well maintained fixtures, fittings and equipment. It really was in the middle of nature with nothing but the sound of birds and wild life. The out door bath tub made the stay even more relaxing, looking up at the stars in the evening was amazing.

My wife and I had a wonderfully relaxing and cosy stay in Cuddfan at Wildernest and enjoyed the local area too. Hugh and Jude, our hosts, were so lovely and accommodating and welcomed us with a box of their chickens’ eggs as well as a bottle of bubbly as we were staying there for my birthday - Truly very generous. The cottage was perfect. Rustic yet clean and well-decorated and very comfortable. Having no TV, it was the perfect opportunity to truly unplug and unwind with some good books with a small log fire crackling away in the evenings. The kitchenette was well stocked with utensils and means of cooking some simple yet tasty meals (carbonara using the eggs from the chickens!). The bedroom on the mezzanine level was very comfortable and spacious, but note you will need to be able to crouch to enter as the doorway is just over 1m high! The bathroom is a wetroom and so has a very spacious shower with very good pressure hot water. The surrounding grounds of Wildernest offer some lovely scenic relaxing walks. We enjoyed wonderful days out in Aberaeron, Afon Mel honey farm, and at Cow Companions spending some time cow cuddling - easy a brilliant highlight of the trip! Thank you!

I am a big fan of Canopy & Stars but this time when I stayed at one of their places, for a 2 night stay - the amount of emails & texts I got from their partner as well as from them really distracted from the stay itself.
When you see nobody at the place you’re staying (knowing they are on site) but they’re happy to send you lots of digital messaging - contradicts the whole ‘getting away from it all’ in my opinion.
And yes I did check out by 10am after several reminders!!

We always use Canopy and stars to book our short break UK trips. We trust their website, like their ethos and appreciate the 25% booking deposit. We get timely reminders and information. It is all very clear.
Canopy and stars have high standards for their accomodations to leet before highlighting them on their site. We have always been happy with our choices and generally get what we expect from the photos and information.
We shall continue using them in the future.

Lovely little hut -it is small but cosy and well equipped . Big benefit is having its own little bathroom . Remote & peaceful. Host is very approachable and friendly. Easy access to lots of great towns / villages but all via seriously narrow lanes. A real get away from everyday life.

I cannot recommend The Nightjars highly enough! Nestled away in the hillside, it is an absolutely incredible place to stay. The space is beautifully designed, exceptionally well equipped, and has a truly magical atmosphere. The shower and sauna deserve a special mention too — absolutely fantastic!

Ross and Martha were wonderful hosts: thoughtful, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating. They went out of their way to help me with an issue that was entirely my own responsibility and which they were under no obligation to assist with, but they did so with genuine kindness and generosity.

The whole experience was exceptional, and I honestly cannot wait to return. I would go back in a heartbeat!

We wanted to decompress. Our stay at The Gardners Shed in Dorset provided just that - it was a little piece of heaven. Tranquil and secluded. A perfect tonic. It was very difficult to leave - we loved it!!

Unfortunately, my stay at one of Canopy & Star's properties (a boat on an estuary in South Devon) fell far short of what was advertised / anticipated and I would not return to this property and sadly be very unlikely to consider this company again (this was my first experience with one of their properties).

I received no contact from the owner before my stay and only heard from them after I made contact myself. On arrival, the property was noticeably dirty, with multiple cobwebs throughout the accommodation.

As a solo traveller, I was particularly concerned by a number of safety issues. The entrance door had no lock, which left me feeling vulnerable. There were also hazardous sections of flooring with an area of damaged floor that had simply been taped over, and a spikey wooden batten between rooms. Both presented potential trip or injury risks.

I was also concerned to find that the stove inside the accommodation was clearly labelled "for outdoor use only" and certainly gave off fumes when used. Despite this, there was no smoke alarm installed, and the carbon monoxide alarm appeared very old, with no visible date indicating whether it was still within its service life. These issues left me questioning whether appropriate safety checks had been carried out.

The facilities were poorly maintained. The first aid kit was dirty, the tea towel smelled unpleasant, and the kitchen equipment was limited (only one teaspoon, for example). Neither the clock nor the barometer worked. The mattress was also rather thin and not especially comfortable.

The compost toilet was particularly unpleasant. It was almost full of previous guests' waste when I arrived and was surrounded by hordes of flies. The handwashing sink in the toilet was broken and had been replaced with nothing more than a jar of cold water, which I did not consider an adequate or hygienic solution.

The listing described the location as tranquil, but that was not my experience. A barking dog could frequently be heard, and multiple party boats passed by throughout my stay, creating considerable noise. No deckchairs were provided, despite being advertised.

Access was also more difficult than suggested. The slope to the boat was slippery (especially after rain) with nothing to hold on to. During the high spring tides on two days of my stay, I was required to paddle through the water to reach the property. In addition, I was very unhappy to observe wastewater from the boat being discharged directly into the creek, which was both unpleasant and environmentally concerning.

Overall, the property felt poorly maintained, inadequately cleaned and, in several respects, unsafe. While the location itself has potential, significant improvements to cleanliness, maintenance, communication and safety standards are needed before I could recommend it, and therefore this company, to others.

always had excellent stays with them, and responsive bookings. Really beautfully curated selection of stays, and the hosts have always been lovely.

We had booked a three-night stay through Canopy & Stars for our 15th anniversary and were really looking forward to it. Unfortunately, shortly before the stay, my wife’s health took a sudden and serious turn, and we had to attend hospital for multiple days. We asked whether it might be possible to move the booking to another date.

They told me they needed to be fair and consistent and keep to the booking terms for all guests, which I understand. That said, this is exactly the kind of situation where I would have hoped some discretion might be possible.

Canopy & Stars were polite and responded quickly, but ultimately there was no flexibility offered beyond cancelling the booking and hoping the dates could be resold. I do understand that booking terms exist and that small property owners need to be protected, but in the circumstances the response felt very process-driven and left us significantly out of pocket at an already distressing time.

The staff member I dealt with was courteous, and I appreciate that they may have been following policy. However, the overall experience has made me much less likely to book through Canopy & Stars again, as the lack of practical flexibility in a genuine emergency was very disappointing.

Had to cancel a booking we gave 5 weeks notice to be told we have lost all our money! The worst part about this is the booking from the owner stated full refund if cancelled 7 days prior to booking! When I questioned this they advised they are going with their terms not the owners. This was a gift for us that has been completely lost.

Stayed here in Feb, communication ahead of our stay was all really thorough. Place is really quirky and magical. We had the best weekend reading from the amazing book collection, going for walks (the host was really nice and dropped us off at the starting point), finished a puzzle and of course hung out in the tub and swam in the absolutely icy pond. We were so high on life! Really recommend
