I used to be their customer since 2008, I believe. Everything was fine until they changed ownership. I don't use the Card often, last time I put money on my calling card in March 2022. In April 2022 I got email explaining about the changes, it also said:" Any services purchased before April 12, 2022 will continue to be available using the old PIN and access number provided to you via email at the time of the original purchase." Ok, I have nothing to worry about, right? Wrong!
Few days ago, I tried to use my Calling Card and wasn't able to. I logged into my account and found out I got no money!
I called Customer Service, Representative told me that because of the new ownership, old owners were supposed to email everyone and we, the Customers, had to claim a refund. Because I didn't claim my refund, my money is gone. I was in total shock. The only e-mail I got was telling me not to worry and keep using my card as always. By the way, the same message is on their website when I log in into my account.
I tried to explain to Customer Service Representative (CSR) that I didn't get anything about refunds etc. He sounded bored and wasn't interested. I told him it doesn't make any sense, and I'll take my business somewhere else, he said something like "it's fine".
I tried to contact Customer Service by e-mail but got ignored again.
Here are my questions:
- why the email from April 2022 (yes, I still keep it in my files, as everything related to my Calling Cards account), says: "Any services purchased before April 12, 2022 will continue to be available using the old PIN and access number provided to you via email at the time of the original purchase", the same message is on my Account when I log in, but my money is gone according to CSR?!
- if the Company changed hands, money on the account should stay, it's like having money on my bank account. Why my account is empty?
- why the new owners have such a lousy Customer Service? If you run business in US, please, make sure your standards are based on US standards. CSR didn't handle the situation well, maybe they don't train them well overseas or maybe he just doesn't care.
Long story short, I think they should return the money they took from my account, otherwise I will consider them a fraud, and I will share my story, so people will not have business with them.
ADDED AFTER REPLY FROM CALLINGCARDS.
-In the original email I received from CallingCards in April 2022 nothing said about "transition period", it stated clear that I can continue to use my card as usual.
- My old account is still available through your new platform, but the message is still the same: "Any services purchased before April 12, 2022, will continue to be available using the old PIN and access number provided to you via email at the time of the original purchase."
There is NOTHING about time frames or refunds required. I still keep on file all emails related to CallingCards, it would be strange for me to miss one related to refunds, IF there was one. Especially about the refund and the deadline.
With previous provider I used to move some money to my Account, and it lasted me for years because I used the card only few times a year. When you put money on a card it should NOT be a "limit of validity" because it equals having money on a bank card. Of course, only if you deal with an honest provider.
-Regarding "clear communication on your end". I got a call from your Customer Service last weekend, which was a Holiday weekend, after 3 PM on Saturday afternoon. I was traveling that day and was not able to take a phone call. Beatrice, the Representative, left a Voicemail, but, unfortunately, it's not possible to understand what she said.
- I have been a customer probably since 2007 or 2008. Never had a problem. Until now. You can find all kind of excuses to justify your position, but nothing changes the fact that my money was gone after the change of ownership. What does it say about your Company?
