Bad customer service from Conor - Wrong item sent no return postage covered :(
Ordered a life jacket, description stated 3-15kg. They sent a 15-30kg jacket by mistake and when I asked Conor from buywake uk via email to simply swap for the size I had ordered (3- 15kg) he stated that they were in fact out of stock of the size I needed and the website just hadn’t updated and that a refund would only be given if I paid for the postage to send it back (even tho was their fault) The item of course is 4 years to large so no use and I will have to get tracked postage back as expensive item so out of pocket for an error on their end.
Don’t usually leave bad reviews but I provided this feedback to them and asked for the postage to be covered but Conor at buywake uk blamed it on the maker of the jacket even tho it was his website I ordered from so nothing to do with them about how he advertised the wrong size no apologies or solution so be careful when ordering as I sent screen shots explaining that the buttons on the site did not have correct sizes (which they sorted the next day) but the description still says 3-15kg which is not what I received or what they have in stock.
Shame the customer service is so poor and website misleading just needs work can’t advertise one thing and send another and expect customers to pay for returns.
Hope this review is taken as constructive feedback rather than private emails that were dismissed. Would not use again.

Hi Claire,
The Life Vest that you are referring to is the Baltic Split Front EI, which comes in two different sizes Toddler (3-15kg) and Child (15-30kg), these are Baltic's (the manufacturer) sizes stated on their size chart which is displayed on the product listing on our website.
The item that you ordered was the Child size vest and item that you promptly received was the Child size vest. As far as we at Buy Wake UK are concerned we sent you the correct product.
As you have addressed the description for the product on our website does mention "3-15kg", again this is information given to us by Baltic, and like most websites this does not change based on whichever size you select. In fact the exact quote is "The size 3-15 kg has wider crotch straps and two fastening points for the best fit." implying that the two different size have a different design better suited to different age children.
Whilst I appreciate that the selection buttons themselves did not have the specific recommended weights on them when you first made your order, this information was available elsewhere on the website and previously we had never had anyone make this mistake, and following your feedback we updated the website to make it even more clear.
Moreover, if you were unsure of which size to purchase we would have happily advised and you gotten in touch.
Furthermore, at Buy Wake we regularly sell high quantities of products and once you had contacted us to ask about an exchange the last Toddler (3-15kg) had already been sold the day prior, leaving a return for a refund as the only option available.
As per our returns policy the customer is responsible for the return shipping costs unless we have either shipped the incorrect product or there is a fault in the product itself, neither of which applied in this situation hence why we asked you to return the Baltic vest at your own cost.
