Matthew was our guide on the Golden Circle tour this week and the coach was driven very well by Tomek. Matt was kind, entertaining and very knowledgeable and and balanced personal insight with facts superbly. A great day, one I will remember for a long time. We did the Grand Golden Circle with Bus Travel and wow, what a day! Sure, they had to cancel our Northern Lights tour thanks to Icelandic weather, but that didn’t dull the experience at all. The bus pickup was spot on, and every stop went smoothly. But let's be honest—the true star of this tour was our guide, M-Dawg. Whether it was because he’s a proper northeast lad from England or just because he genuinely wanted to give everyone an epic day, Matt made the trip unforgettable with laughs and memories for days.

Definitely my 3rd happiest day—I learned a thing or two, and I've got a fridge-worthy photo to prove it. Cheers, Mdawg!!!

I had a very disappointing experience with BusTravel Iceland. I booked a full-day tour of South Iceland through Viator and paid extra for hotel pickup. I waited outside my hotel as instructed, but no one showed up. When I called the company, they first told me everything was fine, and the bus was on its way. Later, I received another call saying I was not at the correct pickup point, even though my ticket clearly stated “hotel pickup" and I even paid extra for it.

I explained that I was waiting at my hotel as instructed, and even offered to reach the alternative pickup location within 10 minutes. But they refused, saying it was too late and canceled my tour. I ended up missing the entire experience that I paid for and received no proper explanation or support.

I wouldn’t recommend BusTravel Iceland. Their poor communication and unprofessional service ruined my trip.

Northern lights tour. I know that seeing the lights is the main thing. But we ha Daniel (Northern lights whisperer) his knowledge about the lights was outstanding. He made a massive difference to the tour with his good humour and knowledge. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone. Take a camera tripod and rap up warmly.

We booked the Lake Myvatn, Hot-Springs & Godafoss Waterfall Tour from Akureyri through Viator at BusTravel Iceland. Unfortunately, due to bad weather, our cruise ship could not dock so we could not participate in the excursion. Viator and BusTravel Iceland point one after the other and I, as a customer, am left empty-handed. The only thing offered is a voucher that I can never use. Iceland stole our hearts, BusTravel Iceland our money.

advice for people on a cruise
do not book with them, because if you learn less than 24 hours that your cruise ship cannot make a stopover due to weather conditions, they refuse to refund you, so you lose your money (500 euros lost). And unfortunately the captain of your cruise ship will announce the postponement less than 24 hours in advance. Choose companies that take into account the requirements of stopovers, especially when the stopover of the ship is in a tender and not at the quay.

Esse passeio iria ser feito pela Compania Bus Travel da cidade de Reykjavik na Islandia.
Por email eles avisaram, no dia anterior ao passeio, que nos pegariam no ponto de encontro
combinado de 9 horas da manha até 9 horas e 30 minutos. Foram embora 9 horas e nos deixaram sem o passeio, sem a opçao de ir em outro passeio já que todos seus onibus de todos os seus outros passeios estavam lotados. Nos deixaram em uma situaçao bem desconfortável e vergonhosa e resumindo estragaram um sonho de meses de planejamento. Entendam, estávamos em um cruzeiro com um dia para passear em Reykjavik, não havia outra chance nem plano B.
Ligamos para o serviço de atendimento ao consumidor da Bus Travel e disseram que o onibus já havia partido, que não iria voltar, que os outros passeios estavam lotados e que não iriam fazer mais nada sobre isso.
Ao serem questionados disseram que o horario combinado era as 9 horas e que não estávamos
lá e que, por isso, foram embora 9 horas. Disseram isso de forma crua e simples, não o que
seria esperado da sensibilidade de um ser humano que trabalha no ramo do entretenimento internacional.
Depois de questionados sobre o email que enviaram sobre o horario de busca ser de 9 horas as 9 horas e 30 minutos eles responderam que realmente cabia essa interpretaçao. Mas disseram
que não fariam o reembolso mesmo assim. Eles partiram do pressuposto de que eu deveria
imaginar que de 9 horas ate 9 e 30 era o tempo em que eles pegariam pessoas em vario
pontos. Agora sério, eles confessam que no email o modo como eles falam cabe mais de uma interpretaçao, eles esperam que eu tenha que imaginar como eles operam, esperam que eu
saiba que eles tem um onibus só, que não sao varios onibus distintos em cada ponto de coleta.
Convenhamos, se você assume que existe dupla interpretaçao nas suas informaçoes, voce larga seus clientes no ponto de coleta sem maiores satisfaçoes, voce nao oferece nem o basico do inicio do seu serviço, voce nao trabalha nada para merecer esse dinheiro, e mesmo assim voce se recusa a fazer o reembolso. O que seria de se esperar dessa atidude indigna e mercenaria.
Capitalismo predatorio ganancioso sem motivo. Indigno para o ser humano em geral. É o básico da convivencia humana.
Eu nao era obrigado a saber como o sistema de coleta funciona, a comunicaçao
com a bus travel é difcultada pela get your guide pois as mensagens nao sao instantaneas, ligar
para o serviço ao consumidor da bus travel depende de chip de celular internacional, a lingua
deles e os endereços são impossiveis de entender qualquer coisa.
A bus travel adimitiu o erro e me ofereceu a possibilidade de fazer o mesmo tour com eles no
prazo de 3 anos. Mas fala serio, eles sabem que a Islandia é longe, que a chance de alguem voltar
lá em 3 anos é pequena.
E eu nunca confiaria nessa empresa novamente. O que garante que eles nao me deixariam
de novo. Eu iria tranquilamente em um passeio com a Imagine Island em akureiry ou até em Seydisfjordur com a bus travel, esse pessoal chegou ate a esperar um casal que atrasou e todos
os outros participantes aceitaram e entenderam que esperar um pouco nao faria mal a ninguem.
Mas eu nunca marcaria um novo passeio com a bus travel de Reykjavik, nao dá para confiar.
Nao dá para saber se eles vao melhorar nos proximos anos. Entao eu prefiro o reembolso e optar em fazer um passeio na Islandia se eu quiser e
quando eu quiser. Essa garantia de ir no mesmo tour nos proximos 3 anos com o mesmo pessoal
que me largou para inicio de conversa parece um tentativa de mal gosto de tentar compensar
o erro. Eles dizem que é contra a politica deles dar reembolso. A politica deles seria entao a
seguinte: Mesmo que nós da bustravel reconheçamos nosso erro e adimitamos,
voce nunca vai ver seu dinheiro de volta. Isso quer dizer o que: capitalismo selvagem.
Faltou realmente a sensibilidade sobre todas essas questoes, faltou humildade em adimitir o
erro com o email que permitia a interpretaçao do horario de busca ser ate 9 e 30, faltou decencia
por nao devolver um dinheiro ganhado de forma desonesta, faltou entender que eles estao
trabalhando no ramo de realizaçao de sonhos.
Eu espero o reembolso.

Fabulous excursion in the company of ‘Siggi’ (the best tour guide ever) and Heidi, his ‘shadow’ for the day. Siggi took time to learn everyone’s name and he was attentive, informative and funny throughout, as well as visiting all of the main Golden Circle attractions, Siggi made other stops which he thought we would enjoy, which included an extra waterfall and delicious ice cream😀. The day lasted 10 hours (2 hours more than advertised) however nobody on our small tour complained as we were all having a great time.

I booked two tours south iceland and golden circle. Both buses were on time. The guides were funny, entertaining and knowledgeable. They really make the trip! I saw so many beautiful sights in two days. The times you need to be back are made clear. Lunch breaks can be a bit tough I'd advise getting something quick so you have time to use the toilet as there can be queues. The drop off back home was on time too. Drivers were great I never once felt unsafe they do a great job driving in Iceland's conditions.

Booked blue lagoon with golden circle including kerid crater. When blue lagoon was cancelled was offered alternative trip to secret lagoon which we did not want to do. Was then offered golden circle tour and they didn't say that would include kerid crater which it should have done. Was eventually put on the premium golden circle including a visit to horse and tomato farm that I did not want to do, and consequently was charged for premium tour even though I never asked to be put on this tour. Leaves a very bitter taste of this company which up to now we're very good. Asked them to explain the refund calculation and they kept ignoring my emails because they knew they were overcharging me. Awful service

Can’t praise them enough! We did the Golden Circle tour, with Dave the mad Irishman as guide, Alsa his manager and Dr. Christoph the driver. And Jeff the seal. Very knowledgable, friendly and helpful. We even had extra stops to feed some horses and we were ‘forced’ to stop for ice cream - as if! We were picked up and dropped off from and to our hotel, no having to get to the bus station. Great job guys!

Shocking, just shocking. No words really.

This trip was excellent both for the tour itself and the tour guide. We booked the golden circle tour, pick up was on time, each stop had ample opportunity to have a good look around, and although they changed the hot springs location the week before, we received a partial refund for what we’d over paid, and the replacement location was amazing. Highly recommend booking your trips with these guys

We booked a generic northern lights tour. The booking experience was straightforward and easy to complete. Our first tour was cancelled due to poor visibility, but we rebooked for the next day (at no cost), and were actually issued a free upgrade to a small group tour. The bus showed up outside the hotel at exactly the correct time and collected us. Our tour guide, Ody, made this the absolute best experience. He was knowledgable, friendly and knew all of the good locations to spot the northern lights (and we always got to each spot first!). I couldn’t recommend Ody enough, he was a great tour guide and made sure everyone was okay (as it was -17 degrees!), and managed to get us to a perfect spot to photograph the northern lights in front of the most perfect mountain range! It was our final night in Iceland and Ody ensured we ticked off this from our bucket list. Request Ody as your tour guide if you can!

I had a good experience with the trips.
But my problem is that I canceled a trip and they said that to me they were going to refund me in 14 days, but I never received my refund.

We went on 3 tours with Bus Travel Iceland in Sept 23, Golden Circle, South Coast & Northern Lights. We chose Bus Travel after careful consideration, they had the best reviews & were also competitively priced. Artis was our guide for The Golden Circle Tour. She was enthusiastic, knowledgeable & even made an extra stop for a photo op with some Icelandic horses. Anna was our guide for the South Coast Tour. Very friendly and knowledgeable. The weather took a turn for the worse this day, but Anna wanted to persevere so we didn’t miss out. We really felt the power of the Icelandic weather at Reynisfjara Beach with powerful wind & rain, & Anna made the tough decision to miss Sólheimajökull glacier which was disappointing but she had our safety in mind. Our Northern Lights Tour was cancelled twice due to cloud cover. It went ahead on our last night there, Gary was our guide. We waited for hours losing hope, but Gary kept holding on and looking out for us, he really wanted us to see them. Finally we did, an amazing display! Big shout out to the drivers too, especially on The South Coast Tour during tricky weather conditions. Highly recommend Bus Travel Iceland! Thanks for an amazing time.

Rude driver/tour guidewe had to sit at back of bus due to all individuals sitting alone so there was only one two seat left, (which if this was not available I would have had to have done 10hours without my partner, if you are a large group you will not be sat together) the they shouted at us to hurry up getting off.

I thought we could actually enjoy the places and do the walks but but you can't as you don't have time. For example we were told not walk up the stairs at waterfall and then you have 30mins nins just stood at bottom of waterfall despite bus driver rushing you off Aroan was south coast tour bus driver and Joseph the tour guide wouldn't recommend get a car and enjoy the experiences yourself

Deze trip vooraf aan onze cruise geboekt via Get your Guide. Alles perfect geregeld. Je wordt goed vooraf geïnformeerd. Deze excursie zou plaatsvinden op zaterdag 2 september 2023. Echter op 1 september,laat in de middag, kregen we aan boord te horen dat de route van onze cruise werd aangepast door heel slechte weersomstandigheden en werd onze stop in Reykjavik helaas geannuleerd. Meteen contact opgenomen met Bustravel Iceland en doorgeven dat we helaas moeten annuleren. De reactie van Bustravel Iceland was dat er geen refund zou komen alleen de mogelijkheid om de trip op een ander tijdstip te maken. Hetgeen voor ons niet mogelijk is. Omdat ik weet dat wij zeer zeker niet de enigste zijn geweest die hebben moeten annuleren zou een beetje flexibiliteit van Bustravel Iceland netjes geweest zijn.
Ik kreeg trouwens wel vandaag nog 2 mailtjes dat we niet op tijd op de afgesproken plek waren en dit terwijl ik gisteren al geannuleerd had. Heb eerder ook al tours geboekt via Bustravel Iceland en die waren top. Vandaar toch nog 3 sterren

I went on two excursions with Bustravel Iceland in Northern Iceland, dyjandi tour and lake myvatn and godafoss tour. Both my guides, Rock and Vik were very funny and very knowledgeable about all things Iceland. What stood out to me about this conpany is they went back and were in contact with travellers that were confused about pick up, which unfortunately happened to me later with a different conpany and I missed the tour and wasn't refunded. I highly rate this company, and it was my favourite company out of three whilst in Iceland.

I have just used this company for seeing the Northern Lights. I don't know how it's in general, but I can tell that my night was great because of Roberta, the tour guide.

Roberta tried her best to lift everyone's mood despite people weren't very collaborative. She offered too a very detailed explanation of why we can see the Northern lights. She also knows what apps are more accurate (great research) and informed the passengers how to set the phone of different brands to get the best photos of the Northern lights.

On top of that, Roberta had songs selected to call the Northern Lights. The one that I'll never forget is her modification of the song Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! A man after midnight. She changed cleverly a man after midnight for Aurora after midnight. Very catchy indeed.
