Brighton & Hove currently operate 222 buses across a network of 73 routes with 2,000 bus stops, serving the urban area of Brighton and Hove and connecting the city to Crowborough, Eastbourne, Lewes and Tunbridge Wells. Metrobus our sister company currently operate 125 buses across 50 routes through Sussex, Surrey and Kent. Between the two companies, our passengers made 50 million passenger journeys during the year which is more bus journeys per head of the population than anywhere in the UK outside of London.

ALWAYS late, cancelled, re-directed, re-scheduled and all the rest, absolute joke of a company, decaying, outdated & not fit for purpose, just like the rest of this god forsaken country.
Having to rely on these clowns to get to and from work is actually hopeless, quicker to just give up.

Following some conflicting information and experiences concerning the use of my disabled persons companion Surrey bus pass between home and West Sussex on the return journey, I sought clarity on that from West Sussexr. Ciara answered my call & I was hugely impressed by her kindness, patience & help so readily given. She was extremely kind and listened to the query I made, confirming the situation afterwards by email. It is very unusual these days to experience such superb customer service and she is an enormous asset to her employers. Thank you so much Ciara.

I bought a monthly subscription for a few months to commute to work and back, but after moving away I didn't cancel the automatic payment before it came out of my account. I sent an email asking for a refund, and received a reply and the refund within a few hours! (speed depends on bank). Thanks Mark!

Bus Driver Tony (Driver 7790) was an absolute pleasure. I had lost property on the bus and he made sure to keep my item safe and handed it back to me when I managed to track the bus back down. Was very helpful and I cant thank him enough!

Waiting at bus stop in Steyning for No 2 bus today- There were 7 of us + a dog and the bus went sailing past even though I had my hand out. Not amusing to have to wait over an hour for the next one. Not the service I usually expect from B&H Buses. However Customer Service have been VERY helpful and polite -I would give them 5 stars!

I was waiting for the number 7 bus at the st James street at the coop and I saw two number 7 stuck behind a rubbish cart in the steine.the buses were already late the one behind less so but timed six minutes ( sad I know) stationary while they collected sacks no attempt to move.no conception that it would mean their turnaround at the marina was just drive back to keep up the time so no break to stretch legs sat in a cab for over 30 minutes .like the drivers who passengers seem to think are their personal one stop journey planners is any consideration made by those complaining? As regards ' chatting' when I meet my favourite driver Steven he being involved in an incident previously described any chatting is quick and minimal and only when not in motion.
So perhaps consider why the bus is late before complaining .
I was delayed too after a night shift but it wasn't the buses fault.

I had a lot of issues with getting to Brighton due to cancelled buses and being told they weren't cancelled. We had bought a ticket to Sealife centre which we never got to due to the buses. I complained and the service I received was amazing. Immediate response from them and they asked for details and then refunded our ticket price for Sealife. Very impressed and grateful

Brighton & Hove Buses offers mixed experiences. While some drivers go above and beyond, others show poor attitudes towards passengers. Timetables often don't match, leaving people waiting unnecessarily or facing overcrowded buses. Service to places like Southwick is unreliable, making commuting stressful. Improvements in scheduling and customer service could make public transport a preferable option.

I’m a Brighton resident, born and bred
. My poor review is because I’ve noticed an unfriendly attitude develop by drivers; and maybe it’s because they are following a policy, that means if you are running to the bus stop, as I was today, and very nearly there, the driver just drives off. This is so unfriendly and to put it mildly ‘shit’. It’s not fair to say the bus would be late if they waited 15 seconds, it’s just bad customer service and I’ve had this happen several times in recent years. Just makes you feel they have no care at all for customers. Give us a break. We all have to wait while people piss about and scan their cards before getting off the bus!
