Extremely impressed with the friendly service.
I brought a variety of trees and shrubs. I wasnt happy with my Magnolia, and I called - got through straight away and spoke to a lovely person. They arranged for a replacement to be sent without delay.

Disgraceful service. Delivered 5 delphiniums, 2 were healthy, the 3 others were dead or dying. Blamed me for lack of care during heatwave despite them being delivered after heatwave!

I ordered 2 plants from Burncoose in March 2021.One plant Calycanthus 'Venus' £35 which was a good plant and is thriving. The other was Choisya x dewitteana 'Atzec Pearl' £15 which was very small and weak-looking on receipt. I did not plant it straight away because it was not growing strongly and I thought that doing so would shock the plant. In Sept 2021 I complained to Burncoose that the plant was very poor for the price and that I had wanted a bigger plant. They admitted that the plant did look as if it was premature to be sold and they would refund half price but that a larger plant was not available.
Now Aug 2022, 16 months on, having nurtured it in a pot, the plant is still alive but it has not grown. The plant height is now 25cm and the rootball is 7.5 cm long and wide with a single longer root of 15 cm. I complained again and this time asked for a full refund. This was denied. The reason that they gave was that I had not given it the correct aftercare (ie I should have planted it in the ground) and that if I planted it out now, it would grow. Possibly, but after 16 months this tiny plant is of no use to me as I have now filled the space intended for this plant. I also challenge the implication that a plant cannot be grown for some months in a pot as long as it is watered, not pot bound, has good compost and is vine weevil free. Mine was carefully looked after and I believe is only alive now through my care.
The whole of the container plant retail trade is based on container grown plants.
In the nursery T&C's they do not state whether they give full refunds. Do they? I made it clear that I was very dissatisfied with their recent response. Is the nursery concerned about customer satisfaction? Reading a sample of the edited customer reviews on their own website, I did not see a single bad review. Really?
I would like guaranteed plant quality or money back. I will not buy from them again.

5 of the 7 plants I ordered were very healthy, one however was shrivelled & the other just a root in a pot. I tried to contact the company but no response then kept on hold for an hour before being cut off. I’ve emailed twice but received no response. I’m very unhappy with the customer service which appears non existent. I won’t be using again.

This company is removing reviews from people that are leaving of their terrible customer service and less than adequate plants. I am contacting trading standards!

I ordered and received two plants from the nursery, one was fine, the other half the size of the indicative picture on the website. Certainly responded to my email in a timely manner and rather than me send it back offered a refund of half the cost. Fair enough, carbon footprint etc. Unfortunately, it didn't happen and I emailed tham an via the Paypal process to remind them. Told couldn't refund as my case was blocking it initially?! That was Monday, now Wednesday, told it was an effort to involve paypal to refund £10 and sent an offer of £9.99. Really? Clearly others have had a better experience, but I won't buy from them again.

An excellent nursery to deal with. They let you know when the plants are in before you order so you do not have to pay months in advance. The shrub arrived well packed and in really good condition.

I had an issue with a tree that arrived damaged. I sent an email and pictures to burncoose who were brilliant and said they didn’t have another tree that size but would send a smaller one and refund the difference or I could have a full refund. Great service, would defiantly recommend

A brilliant nursery in great gardens free to look around. Loads of plants for sale and many well established plants around £12.50 to £16 so no need for a large budget. Staff are well knowledged and very keen to help. Either order on line for delivery or pickup. I ordered on a Sunday and order ready Monday afternoon. Will use and visit again, next time intend to look around there large wooded gardens. Highly Recommended. Jim Redruth

Burncoose was the only grower I could find who could supply Abutilon x suntense. They responded immediately to say the plant was back in stock. I ordered on Monday evening and the plants arrived in Colchester 2.5 days later. All in excellent condition and growing strongly. Many thanks - I will definitely use them again.

Excellent experience, I was told my order had shipped overnight and, although delayed by heavy traffic, it arrived on the afternoon specified and the plants looked healthy and vigorous. I was particularly impressed with the growing and care tips that came with the order. By clicking on the plant ordered I got care tips and Burncoose's own experiences with growing that plant. Happy customer I am!

I've ordered 3 ivys about three weeks ago. They arrived fast and really well packaged. So, I have re-ordered since. Once again 6 ferns arrived in no time and professionally packaged. Healthy, strong plants. The delivery charges are a bit high but the service it worth it.

This is my second year of purchasing from Burncoose.All of the shrubs planted last year have flourished and the Snow Queen passion flower was simply stunning.
I ordered the Graphite White agapanthus earlier this week.Delivery was exceptionally quick and the plant arrived this morning.Packaging was excellent and the plant already has a healthy looking umbril.

and they arrived on 11th June 2021 10:05.
The courier - APC - kept in touch and gave a time slot for delivery.
The plants were well packed and look very healthy and well cared for.
So, I've very pleased and will be ordering again.

I ordered 4 plants from Burncoose about 6 weeks ago. The Mahonia was not in good shape when I received it. It had a white mildewy residue on it. I emailed Burncoose to ask advice. They told me to look on the RHS website for how to deal with it. I don't really expect to have to do that with a new plant. It was also not cheap, about £13 I think and small. Anyway I did my best and planted it. It still does not look very healthy, the leaves are black. The Vitex does not look dead but it also does not look very alive. The three main plants, mahonia, cotoneaster and vitex are all quite small for their cost I think. I will not use this company again.

During Spring 2020 and 2021 I have purchased a number of batches of shrubs and herbaceous plants from Burncoose Nurseries. On all occasions I have been very well pleased with the well-grown plants of uniform planting grade. Excellent labeling and careful packing for dispatch to Lincolnshire completed the orders. Additionally the excellent illustrated catalogue
offers an amazing choice to suit all situations.

Disappointing service in a previous order. I was charged immediately although stock did not become available until months later and staff were unapologetic.

This time delivery was quick but plants had seen better days, not really what you would pick yourself.
