Bulletproof made achieving the Cyber Essentials Plus certificate painless. We were guided through the process at all times and our assessor Jason was incredibly patient and helpful. We started using Bulletproof back in April 2019 and kicked off our relationship with a 2-day visit where a gap analysis was undertaken. This was a very useful exercise to determine how robust our data protection practices and IT security measures were. The DPO assigned to us worked through the ‘gaps’ with us.
To put the relationship into context for you, other than a day to day working knowledge of data protection, I had not dealt with it up to the point we engaged with Bulletproof, and I was given responsibility of overseeing the relationship with them, and for data protection for my company. The assistance and reassurance I get from the team at Bulletproof is exceptional and I feel confident to navigate data protection on behalf of the company and feel confident that as a business we are compliant. I have learnt a great deal about the subject along our journey together.
I receive an excellent service from them and the turnaround times for responses to queries is brilliant. Even though we have a dedicated Bulletproof DPO, any email queries also go to a DPO support service and so if my DPO is busy, the query is immediately picked up by someone else. Contact numbers are provided for various members of the team for any really urgent matters.
The Target Defence portal and the training videos and exams are very beneficial, and I can share these with our staff. In addition, my DPO is able to produce dedicated training slides for the staff to undertake, and these are designed around any issues we identify throughout the year.
I receive monthly newsletter updates, which again I can share with the staff and network membership, and they also produce a monthly report for me that goes into our board meeting pack. Template documents are shared by the team if they are needed. My DPO also arranges regular catch-up video calls. As a general rule we receive help with reviewing of policies, privacy notices, SAR’s, member queries, management reporting, general compliance issues, potential breaches, assistance with regulatory documentation etc, etc.
The team go to great lengths to understand the business they are working with, so that they can ensure the very best advice is given. My business is a financial services network with complex member relationships and, as you will be aware, is very highly regulated, so this has not been an easy task for Bulletproof. If I have any ‘tricky’ issues I am always offered a telephone or Teams call to discuss in person. If more research is required they advise of this and can also consult directly with the ICO on our behalf if required.
To summarise I can honestly say that Bulletproof provide us with a very robust and proactive service across all aspects of data protection and I would not hesitate to recommend them.

Great support in helping us understand the risks around personal data protection and in ensuring that we have policies and processes that manage these risks. Generally very reactive to ad-hoc requests and planned support activities.

We engaged Bulletproof for 2023 Pen Testing, and Matt Kinally and Jack Payne have been great in helping us organise Pen Testing, especially at short notice when required for adhoc engagements. They have done very thorough testing as well as giving us the best advice/knowledge around scoping and remediation. We look forward to continuing our engagement with them in 2024.

Paid monthly over the course of a year for a full penetration test of our application. Terms were net30, so not sure what the other reviews are referring to.

The report was thorough and the support afterwards was prompt and professional. No hesitation in recommending Bulletproof.

Although the majority of the team were young they were very knowledgeable.

We also use the Defense.com platform for training staff on Information and Cyber Security which has been a great help.
