Beware of using the supplied tracked return service! The headline claim that this is insured simply isn't true because you can't actually make a claim to Royal Mail since they dont consider you the sender. Boost will then hide behind their terms and conditions and tell you its your own fault for using the service they supplied and tough luck, go speak to Royal Mail.

After 2 months of trying to get anywhere, they simply don't care, knowing full well and proven that I am unable to raise a claim they still wont raise it on my behalf. So this review is simply a warning to others to think very carefully about selling your devices as they won't help you when things go wrong.

The technicality that this creates is, Boost purchase the postage with Royal Mail as a tracked return, making themselves the Sender and Receiver, the contract with Royal Mail is with the person who pays them, which is Boost. Royal Mail wont accept a claim from me, Boost refuse to raise a claim so I'm left with nothing.

I sent in a brand new iPhone 17 Pro Max 256GB to Boost Gadgets. Upon receiving the device, they revalued the initial quote from £800 down to £500, stating that contract/pay-monthly devices carry a risk for them. When I declined the low offer and requested the device be returned, their handling of the process became frustrating, they initially stated in writing that the device would be sent back on Friday’s scheduled return collection. Once I formally rejected another offer of £650 which they increased from £500 in less than 10 minutes and insisted on a return, they immediately changed their story, claiming collections had "already taken place for this week" and pushed the return date back a full week. Facing a week-long delay to get my phone back, I eventually gave in and accepted a negotiated offer of £650 just to resolve the matter quickly. After sending my bank details to them they ghosted me, It took me to threaten escalation of action for a response and then payment to be made which did not take 5 minutes as they stated originally.

Disappointing. Was quoted and needed the money, was then forced to accept a significantly lower quote due to needing the funds as a priority. Looks similar to other reviews…..

I sent in my Meta quest 3 that was in pristine condition after there website suggesting £272 trade in value. Once they recieved the excuses followed offering me £50 then further increasing it to £80. I have declined this offer and requested for my item to be sent back to me AS NO CONTRACT HAS BEEN ACCEPTED from both parties. Communication is very poor, and they are hoping customers except there astonishingly low offer. They are now not responding to emails, so i have contacted trading standards and the police.. i have made them aware i will goto small claims court. Avoid this company. Use anyone but these. There pricing on there website are overinflated to draw customers in. AVOID AVOID AVOID..

I will edit review once ive recieved my meta quest in immaculate condition back!!

Truly awful experience with these people. They will offer you a price when you complete the order then will spend 2 weeks with back and forth emails , often not replying offering you 30% below what they originally offered then gradually work there way up. Will not send you the device back will just keep low balling you. Please all STAY AWAY. They also said I had to give them a good review to be paid out.

I sent my Google Pixel 9 Pro in pristine condition after being quoted a very reasonable £620 online, thinking I’d get a fair deal. As soon as they got their hands on it, the excuses started rolling in, and they aggressively slashed the offer down to a mere £310.
It's a textbook bait-and-switch operation designed to lock you in. They count on the hassle of getting your device back so you'll just accept their pennies. Customer service was unhelpful and evasive when I questioned the drop. Do yourself a favor and trade your tech in literally anywhere else.

I have now received my payment, so the transaction was eventually completed. However, I cannot honestly leave a positive review based on my experience.
I was originally quoted a higher amount, but this was later reduced because I was told the phone had been activated and therefore classed as used. I found this disappointing, as the phone was in pristine condition and still had nearly two months of warranty remaining.
I was also told I would receive payment on Thursday 27th August, but this did not happen and I had to repeatedly chase for updates. Communication was extremely poor, and I was left not knowing what was happening with my phone or my payment.
The situation became so frustrating that I had to formally warn them that, if the matter was not resolved, I would consider pursuing the matter through Small Claims Court and contacting the police regarding the device.
Payment was eventually made, which I appreciate, but I should not have had to reach that point simply to receive payment after agreeing to the sale.
Overall, the experience was stressful and disappointing. The communication and handling of the transaction could have been considerably better.
