Odpowiedź od BookyAI
Hello Joan, thank you for telling us, and sorry BookyAI did not feel easy to use. We would like to know where it got in your way, because that is exactly the feedback that shapes our updates.
If you are willing to give it one more try, open the live chat inside BookyAI and mention this review: Alexander will walk you through your first book step by step, at your pace, from the idea to the finished file. A few minutes with a guide usually makes all the difference.

Thank you. Helpful, polite and actually solving the problem is exactly what we want every support conversation to be, and we are glad that is how yours went. We will pass your words on to the team. Happy writing!

It helps me outline my ideas better while still giving me full control to edit and not just do a one-click cretion. I View BookyAI as a tool not as the substitution of the writer's escence.

Thank you, Miguel. You have described BookyAI exactly as we think of it: a tool that helps you shape and outline your ideas, then hands you full control of every line, never a one-click substitute for the writer. The essence of the book stays yours; we just help you get it onto the page faster.
Happy writing!

Thank you, Kerry. You are about to publish your first book, which makes you anything but useless with this technology; you simply had questions, and answering them patiently is the job. We are glad support felt that way from your side.
Congratulations on the book. Tell us when it is out; we would love to see it!
Not very intuitive
Not very intuitive. I waste a lot of time getting answers from Alexander.
Nothing so far (12 attempts) is clean and publishsble. Your own Quality Control finds errors anf worn out tropes.
The cover generator says I have used all my allotment kn my first try.
Human help is confusing. I have no idea what I am doing wrong. I don't speak Techize.
I see potential, but the learning curve is enormous.

Odpowiedź od BookyAI
Hello Susan, thank you for the honest account, and sorry for the hours this has cost you. You are not doing anything wrong; twelve attempts without a result you can use means we have not explained the tool well enough, and that is on us.
Two things worth knowing. The Quality Control finding errors and tired tropes is the tool working as intended: a first draft is meant to be checked, and the same screen fixes what it finds with one click, Polish for the errors and Rewrite for the tropes. And the cover message about your allowance does not come from BookyAI: covers are generated through your own OpenAI or Gemini account, and that message means that account has no image credit left, which happens on a brand new OpenAI account or on Gemini's free tier after a few images.
Adding a small amount of credit at OpenAI, or switching the cover engine to the other provider in Settings, fixes it in two minutes, and we will gladly do that step with you.
Most of all, you should not have to learn "Techize". Please write to support and mention this review, and a person from our team, not the chat assistant, will walk you through your book from start to a clean, publishable export, at your pace.
You have already seen the potential; let us show you the rest.

Not user friendly
Not user friendly, I cain't find the book I started, I can't figure out how many books I can do in a day. Frustrating.

Odpowiedź od BookyAI
Hello Stephen, thank you for telling us, and sorry for the frustrating start. Two quick answers that may help right away.
Your book is in the Library, the first screen you see when BookyAI opens: every book you have started is listed there, with its progress, and one click reopens it exactly where you left off.
And there is no limit from BookyAI on how many books you can write in a day; the only pacing comes from the free AI key you connected, which has its own daily quota, and the app waits and continues automatically when that quota resets.
If anything is still unclear, open the live chat inside BookyAI and Alexander will walk you through it step by step, in a few minutes. We would rather show you than have you struggle.
⭐ 1-star review
Issue resolved — thanks to support!
I initially had a problem accessing the software after completing my payment. However, the BookyAI support team responded and fixed the issue within a few hours.
I now have full access to the software. I really appreciate the quick response and resolution, so I’m changing my original 1-star rating to 5 stars.
Thank you.

Not being able to get in right after paying is a bad first hour with any product, and we are sorry it happened. We are glad the team got you full access within a few hours, and that is the response time we intend to keep.
Enjoy BookyAI, and happy writing!
The most flexible AI writing platform available (Goodbye, credit systems)
I originally bought BookyAI through a Facebook ad because I wanted to break something—I wanted to test the limits of my older computers (an RTX 2060 and 3070) and of the 4070 I borrowed from my boyfriend. I also secretly wondered if the hype around longform book writing with AI is overrated or not. TLDR: I would 100% recommend this software!
Main reasons:
No Suffocating Credit Systems: Their software completely frees you from the restrictive, pay-per-word credit models that dominate other AI writing platforms.
Ultimate Flexibility: You are not locked into a closed ecosystem. You can hook the software directly into your own local Ollama instance, OpenRouter, or direct API keys for Claude, Gemini, Grok, and OpenAI. I ran an entire 30-chapter novel locally without paying a cent in API fees.
Lightning-Fast Support: The software is actively evolving with regular, meaningful updates. When I ran into an incomplete-generation/chapter truncation timeout bug during my stress tests, their development team was incredibly responsive and deployed a patch to squash the bug within 24 hours.
Clean Narrative Control: The interface relies on standard, easy-to-use dropdowns that make it simple to lock in your Genre (like Cozy Fantasy), Target Audience, Tone, Writing Style, and Narration. It also handles chapter pipelines and back-matter generation seamlessly. You can also write in your own voice (and almost every other field), and they just added the ability to add book series, book and series "bibles", consistent characters, and more features that I have not yet played with.
This software works great "out of the box" for the less tech oriented people, and is a tinkerer's dream if you want to use and customize the other features. BookyAI has too many awesome features to remark on here!
If you want total flexibility and control over your writing pipeline without being nickel-and-dimed by commercial APIs, this is exactly the tool you need.

Thank you Jessica!! Liked your blog post too!
So much fun
First, I was suspicious of paying for a scam. But to my great relief, it was not! After a hiccup with the API key it all went well, and so far I tried the same prompt with different settings just to see the differences. Fun! It really is fun! Easily customizable and it let me incorporate stories I had started years ago and never finished. I don't -have- to accept what the AI writes. I can just take the ideas it gives me when I get stuck, or I can let it write me a whole book when I get bored for something new to read! The possibilities are endless...

Thank you, Heike!
"It really is fun" might be our favourite line in any review so far.
And you have found the two ways we hoped people would use BookyAI: as a partner that hands you ideas when you are stuck, and as a writer that can finish the stories you started years ago, or spin up a whole new one when you want something fresh to read.
You are always the one deciding what stays. We are glad the API key hiccup was only a hiccup.
Enjoy the experiments, and happy writing!

I bought Booky months ago and would like to briefly share my experience. At first, I noticed a few important features were missing, such as an expanded legal notice, but those issues were all quickly resolved. Booky is one of the best software tools for efficiently creating books for Amazon, and I’ve tested just about everything out there. I highly recommend Booky and its team—try it out for yourself; you’ll be thrilled.

Thank you, Andreas. Coming from someone who has tested just about every tool in this space, that means a great deal. And you have described how we like to work: you told us the legal notice was missing, and it was in the next release. Feedback like yours, especially the German Impressum requirement, has made BookyAI better for every author who came after you.
Thank you for months of trust and for recommending us. Happy publishing!

This is such an amazing product. It doesn't matter whether you need help creating a full manuscript or want to format your existing work. You can ask the program to create a cover for you or bring in your own. They release updates and upgrades weekly!

Thank you, Jennifer. You have summed up what we set out to build: one place that works whether you are starting a manuscript from scratch or bringing in a book you have already written, with the cover generated for you or your own brought in.
And the weekly updates will keep coming; most of them start as suggestions from authors like you.
Thank you for the trust, and happy writing!

This is a trusted product and NOT A SCAM!
I highly appreciate the time and effort that was put into this project and application BookyAI is helpful, formal, and informative. The staff are on call to help when they are able, they are polite and kind and willing to help. If anyone tells you this is a scam, they are lying. The BookyAI is new and needs time to develop and grow. I trust it and will continue to give it a chance.

You have described us fairly, in both directions: a real product built by real people who answer when you write, and a young one that still has growing to do.
We would rather earn trust the way you are giving it, by showing up and improving every week, than ask for it.
Thank you for the patience and for taking the time to say this publicly. We intend to keep deserving it.

Managing customers' grievances with utmost care
I had grievances about the products that I purchased. I connected with them, and they did the needful, which I feel was the best thing they could have ever done to keep their customers happy. They'll go a long way with this kind of culture and ethics.

Thank you for this. A customer who comes to us with a real grievance and leaves feeling heard is the outcome we work for, and we are glad that is how it went for you.
Doing the right thing when something has gone wrong is not a policy for us; it is simply how we want to treat the people who trust us with their books.
Thank you for giving us the chance to put it right, and happy writing!
This feels scammy so far
I purchased the product along with the ghost writer license and one other bonus. I received the welcome email with the link to access the platform. More than 48 hours later the system does not recognize my email address. I tried to enter a support ticket, but that requires the email address their system doesn't recognize. I've emailed twice for help and haven't gotten a reply. As of now, I have no way to request a refund as all contact methods either require the email I signed up with (that they don't recognize) or are autoresponders from boxes that do not get read. So far, customer service is non-existent. It's actually kind of bonkers that I'm filling out this review from an email they sent me to solicit a review lol

Odpowiedź od BookyAI
Hello Rob, you are right, and we are sorry. We found the cause: your payment went through, but our system failed to create your account and issue your licenses afterwards. That is why the platform did not recognize your email, and why the support form, which checks for an account, locked you out as well. It was a fault on our side from start to finish, and there is nothing you could have done differently.
Your account and both licenses have now been created manually, and you can log-in now at https://members.bookyai.net
We are also fixing the two things that let this happen: a check that every payment has a matching account before the welcome email goes out, and a support path that never depends on an email the system may not recognize. Thank you for telling us plainly, even if it had to be through a review request. That was not the experience we intended for your first day with us.

Thank you, Ezekiel. Books written because their author believes they matter are the reason we built this tool, and hearing that BookyAI helps you get them into the world, in print and in audio, is the best encouragement we could ask for.
Keep writing them. We are glad to be part of the work.
