Most comprehensive boardgame site there is.

I was banned from the BBG Facebook group ran by BGG for replying to someone openly bashing Trump on a post that was about a card game and had nothing to do with politics. All I asked was "can we keep politics out of board game discussions?" When e-mailing the website about what rule did I break, they responded "what's done is done". Regardless if you are left, right, center, or non-political, if you choose to not participate with bashing the Trump administration, they deem you an enemy and remove you from their community.

Nothing but good things so far. Great promos at a good price, especially when they have clear outs

Banned after negative comments about pronouns/woke culture in a board game. My mates were banned because they disagreed with someone else opinion about lack of female characters in certain title. admins of this site are typical social justice warriors and if you don't agree with them you get banned. Pathetic

I found images and a description of a board game I invented and marketed the site.

The instruction booklet shown in the images is registered withe U.S. copyright office.

I provided BoardGameGeek with a scan of page one of the Certificate of Copyright Registration, proving I am the owner of the copyright.

The front cover of the instruction manual also contains my autograph, which can be used for identify theft.

The front cover also contains contact information.

The webpage for this game also contains completely false information about the game that was lifted from another wiki type site. It is obvious that this third party site, as well as the user reposting it to BoardGameGeek, do not possess a copy of the instruction booklet as none of the information posted is in the instruction booklet.

The webpage for this game also contains a image of a pirated copy of my game.

I removed the false information from the description and added captions to the images stating that the image should be removed for copyright infringement.

BoardGameGeek's response was to accuse me of vandalism, ban be from editing again, and the restoration of the false information.

BoardGameGeek engages in copyright theft, doxing, the encouragement of piracy and the publication of false and unverified information.

Boardgamegeek is a great source for all things board game. I have consumed and contributed much over the years.

"Octavian" (BGG administrator) however has a record of deleting posts that he feels are "inflammatory or argumentative". A noble thought. However, as usually is the case when acting on this level of power, the controller of said power ("Octavian" in this case) clearly allows his personal prejudices to show through. I have seen numerous inflammatory posts supporting leftest thought left up permanently (challenge me and I will demonstrate). But if somebody posts something speaking against those leftists thoughts, even if written respectfully and courteously, he will remove them. I've seen it happen numerous times, and numerous people have witnessed/discussed it. And these are game-related discussions. Many games deal with "controversial topics", and it seems if the point being made supports current left view points, they can stay,... even if generally disrespectful of others opinions and/or personally offensive. Argue against those points, your post is removed.

It is a shame that BGG supports this cancel culture. Even though I personally am middle of the road politically speaking, I will no longer contribute to BGG simply because I can not stand such selfish, single-minded, un-American thought/action. I hope BGG makes some changes in the future. I am only speaking of games/gamers in this post, but this single-sided cancel culture is hugely pervasive in society now. It stands in the very face of what this country is all about. Freedom of speech (even if I don't like what you have to say), the sharing of ideas, this is what makes the US special.

Board Game Geek is beyond laughable. The perfect place for all those toxic brats to hate on popular games and other users. This is the experience I want to talk about.
First, the reviews for popular, well-known board games. I was expecting popular titles such as Monopoly or Life to be in the top ten on the list of "Best Board Games", but NO! All of the top ten games on the list are all these weird roleplaying card games I've never heard of in my life. Even my favorite board game, Wheel of Fortune, is constantly bombarded with negative reviews from these brats.
Second, the toxic community. I have a friend who enjoys playing board games with me and my other friends. She was shocked to see her favorite board game, Monopoly, on the bottom of the list. She tried to write her own opinion saying it should be on top of the list instead of the bottom. Then some World of Warcraft loving no-life comes in harassing my friend, calling her names. This went on for days. One day, without warning, the brat banned my friend's account. The hyenas who rule this website know nothing about the First Amendment- Freedom of Speech. On this joke of a website, you're not even allowed your own opinion when the World of Warcraft loving brats are allowed theirs.
In conclusion, Board Game Geek is a wannabe board game website with wannabe know-it-alls in the board game community. Unless you want to be upset about the entire "community" hating on your favorite board game, stay away from this excuse of a website.

Seems there is no free speech on this forum website, where some people can have their opinions and be toxic to other members and if at any point you give your opinion or dont agree you get blocked and not able to speak or express yourself anymore. For a website that is all about boardgames and inclusion they are doing a very poor job.
