We saw Blue Lion band perform a showcase gig in Liverpool, having already seen them at another friends wedding and were eager to secure them for our wedding.

They are a great group of musicians who made our wedding absolutely perfect and were able to accommodate our song preferences/first dance amazingly well. The band were high tempo and judged all the sets just right, giving everyone an opportunity to hit the dance floor that was pretty much filled up all night!

It’s Fantastic to be able to adjust the band setup to meet your needs, and you have Peace of mind that you will have excellent musicians guaranteed to play your wedding even if someone falls ill etc. The night before, so removes any worries in build up. We asked if the brass section could play a trad Jazz set during the drinks reception with about two weeks notice, and they absolutely nailed it so you really are getting super talented performers who can do it all!

Finally in terms of communication with the band in build up - they have an Easy to use online band page for your event that allows you to communicate and store details of the day with the band, and Damien is really friendly and helpful throughout. I couldn’t recommend these guys more!

We hired Blue Lion Band for our wedding reception in July. We saw them pop up on facebook and contacted them, they asked if we would like to see them perform in one of the London bars and we absolutely loved them!
There were a couple of singers we liked and wanted them for our wedding and they were able to ensure they were present for the evening.
We were in contact with Chris and he helped organise music etc for the evening.
Hiring the band was quick and smooth, they set up a great page to allow us to input information on our day + what type of music and any other recommendations (So simple to use!).
They played 45mins x 3 with a 15min break in between where they usually play their own music but they were able to play Indian music for us (I did make a spotify playlist and sent a link - they were able to phase in and out of songs to make it sound like an actual DJ was playing).
Week of the wedding, Chris was in contact to run through some final details and to confirm everything was as we had hoped!

The band is the one thing I knew I didn’t have to worry or stress about. From using their portal to speaking to Ed prior, I felt completely comfortable that they knew what they were doing and I didn’t need to give it another thought. I cannot rate them high enough. And the band themselves were exceptional on the night. Everyone was on the dancefloor and we had so many comments. I can’t thank Ed and the band enough.

Listened to the Blue Lion Band twice at their Cambridge show case nights -choosing the right band for 6th July was really important to us! They bowled us over both with their musical talent and infectious energy. Chris is a top guy to work with, his well organised and responsive approach made that aspect of 'wedmin' easy, he helped us select the most apt band line up (6 people inc Sam on sax and Becky on female lead vocals). The personal online event planning page was a help, and being able to chat to the band about our ideas and plan gave peace of mind. Blue Lion Band learned two songs for us and have an awesome repertoire. The most important thing to say is that on the night, OUR DANCE FLOOR WAS RAMMED! So many guests spoke to us after the wedding and the first thing they did was praise Blue Lion Band. Incredibly good fun. We just want to do it all again. If you have the opportunity to book these guys then go for it!

We had an acoustic guitar and saxophone for our cocktail hour in the afternoon and a 6 piece band with Chris as our lead vocalist in the evening. We dealt with Tommy and he was amazing. So easy to talk to and was really helpful. They had the dance floor packed out and everyone commented on how amazing they were. We would highly recommend!!!

We booked Blue Lion Band after seeing them at a showcase in Cambridge, from that moment we knew we wanted them and in particular Becky to sing as the vocals were incredible. We were not let down in the slightest, the band truly made our night, they were perfect. Every single person commented on how amazing they were and the song choice was phenomenal. Our first dance was so special, such a beautiful rendition of the song. The booking process, organisation before the wedding, and set up on the day was so smooth. I would recommend Blue Lion Band to everyone and anyone getting married. We could not be happier! Thank you.

We really had the best wedding day ever and you really helped bring the evening to life and turned it in to the party that we had always dreamt of!! The dance floor was always full – thanks to your amazing music, but also you choosing the best songs to do at what points to keep us all going!! Your website that had a page dedicated to us really helped us to tell you what it is we really love and then you ringing to go through it with us made us so excited and we knew we were in safe hands. We have had so many compliments about how amazing you were since our day. You accommodated the needs of the venue and the sound limiter without any issue – we didn’t even notice!! It removed all stress for us. You also made us feel like it was all about us as you were really flexible with the schedule to fit around our sparkler photos outside. We are SO pleased that we not only booked you, but we upgraded to the 6 piece! We will make sure we come and see you at rehearsals again soon!

I can't rate the Blue Lion Band high enough. In the lead up to the wedding they were very professional and supportive and talked through what would work best on the big day. On the day itself they absolutely smashed it and had the whole dance floor packed. So many people came up to me and said they were the best wedding band they'd ever heard and I have to agree!

We had the blue lion band as the main evening entertainment at our wedding last July. They were in regular contact during the lead up to the big day making sure that they understood the timings and the facilities as well as being able to answer any questions we had. They were flexible when they arrived (we were running a little behind schedule) and once they got up on stage they put on a fantastic show. Really made the night. Can't recommend them enough.

Blue Lion Band played at our wedding last summer. They were amazing. From learning a song for our first dance to keeping the dance floor packed even at the end of the night we couldn't have asked for more. The quality of the live music is amazing and there was absolutely no hassle on the day whatsoever. Neil was assigned to us from start to finish and dealt with all our questions quickly and thoroughly. We also had our own webpage where we could put details of the wedding and song requests. We really couldn't have asked for more.

The Blue Lion Band (four-piece version) played at our wedding, and were absolutely superb! Their exceptional talent kept the dance floor full all night, and our guests were very complementary.

The band was very accessible beforehand, too, with a fantastic website where we could enter in all of the wedding details, including timings and musical preferences. Dealing with the band directly was a much, much better experience than going through an agency website. I can recommend this band in the strongest possible terms!

Excellent band! Played beautifully at our wedding, setting the perfect tone for our special day. We received lots of complements about the band and a friend of ours who is getting married soon wanted their details, so they obviously impressed. I cannot thank Blue Lion Band enough for how amazing they were at our wedding reception. After watching them at a Showcase in Cambridge, we just knew we had to have them and I am so pleased we did! Chris did all he could to ensure they had every detail for our day (even when I change my mind so many times), communication from the start was brilliant and their performance at our wedding was just out of this world. Even now six months on, our friends and family are still talking about how brilliant our band were!

Our first dance song was PERFECT ("As" Stevie Wonder) and I'm so happy we got the bigger band in the end. Everyone was dancing and having fun, even Dan's Nonna was still on the dance floor when we had our farewell circle :)

I was put in charge of the music for my brother's wedding last year. The price quoted was similar to other bands, but they offered more playing time over the whole night instead of just the dance music at the end. With other bands we would have had to pay extra for the cocktail music even though it was within the same time frame. The only extra I opted for was the guitarist to play for the garden ceremony earlier in the day because it worked out much cheaper than hiring another musician through an agency. Much nicer to have the live music than a DJ overall. Everyone had a really great time and the music definitely made the night. I'll use them again for my own wedding next year as they still offer a much better deal than other bands.
