Blue-green vacations is a HORRIBLE

Blue-green vacations is a HORRIBLE. They smooth talked us into getting in this. Told us when signing up it was not a cost share but indeed it is. Also told us that if we couldn't afford they understood and we could get out. BIG FAT LIE!!!! Now we are stuck but will be getting out. It will cost you lots more in the end if you get conned into it. We highly recommend NOBODY to get involved with them.

No clear exit path and conflicting guidance from Bluegreen-affiliated rep

I’m leaving this review after repeated attempts to resolve my Bluegreen timeshare situation and being met with no real solution. What was originally sold as flexible, affordable travel has turned into a financial burden we can no longer sustain. Our annual maintenance fees have escalated dramatically, now exceeding $12,000, and as retirees with reduced income and significant health limitations, we are no longer able to use the product. We are also left holding a large balance of unused points that only adds to the frustration.

After trying to cancel, I spoke with Josh from Responsible Exit, who stated he is affiliated with Bluegreen. During that call, I was told our account is in collections and that if we cannot pay, collections will continue calling and sending letters. I was also advised to simply ignore it because it would “eventually go away” after a couple of years, which left us confused and concerned about potential credit impact.

Despite clearly explaining our financial hardship, the only option presented was to pay additional money to exit the contract. From our experience, the process feels confusing, dismissive, and financially pressured, especially for older owners trying to find a way out.

THIS COMPANY MIS-REPRESENTED ITSELF!!I talked with one of the agents who said we can stay in one of Bluegreen Vacation resorts in many different locations and states.
1. Lie #1. I later found out you will NOT BE STAYING in a resort that they show online… but in an average hotel like Choice Hotel, a 2-3 star rated hotel.
You have to travel over to the actual resort for a 90 minute tour and pressure sales to get you to buy from their vacations. I was originally told that we would stay at the resort to determine if this was something we would want to experience before going through the tour presentation.
When I tried to get a refund for the money I paid in advance to stay at the resort for the 3 days… I was later told they don’t do refunds after 30 days. I will need to contact my bank to make this happen.

After signing up at a bass pro shop and knowing their connection to Hilton, we expected better of the people we were dealing with. We were promised a casual presentation and a no-pressure sales pitch, but it turned out to be anything but that. They were super pushy, wouldn't answer our questions at all. And when we did get an offer, it was for a pathetic amount of points with insanely high interest. After they finally accepted our "NO!" After many "no, thank yous" they tried to shorten our 3 night stay by calling to tell the hotel we were staying at that we were leaving. AVOID these snakes, your money and time is better spent on your own research and planning

Don't get tangled up in their mess. No availability.

We sank tens of thousands into Bluegreen thinking we’d get these amazing, flexible trips. Turns out, the whole sales pitch was a lie…we can never use it. The lack of availability over the years has been a total nightmare. From the very beginning, we faced constant challenges trying to make reservations. It is impossible to book anything, even in the state where we live. We have spent countless hours trying to secure a spot without any success. Out of nearly 20 years of ownership, my family has only managed to use the timeshare maybe three times because of these booking issues. Despite our attempts to contact the company and file complaints about this, they have been completely unhelpful in resolving the issue. Take my advice: stay far away and don’t get tangled up in this mess.

Told to "just pay it" and then ignored

I don’t usually leave reviews, but after everything that’s happened, I feel like I have to say something. I reached out to Bluegreen trying to get help because the situation has become more than my family can manage. The costs have not stayed anywhere close to what we were led to believe, and with real-life changes on our end, it’s been a constant source of stress.
When I finally spoke with Jennifer, the response I got was basically that there’s nothing they can do because the loan isn’t paid off and that I just need to keep paying it. That was it. No attempt to understand the situation, no discussion about options, nothing. I also brought up the fact that we were told refinancing could be a possibility, but the reality is no one actually refinances timeshare loans. That was a big part of what made this feel manageable at the time, and it clearly wasn’t accurate.
What made it worse is that after that conversation, there was no follow-up. No response, no next steps, just silence. After already reaching out multiple times explaining the financial strain and asking for some kind of solution, being brushed off like that and then ignored is beyond frustrating.
This whole experience has been exhausting. It’s not just about the money anymore, it’s the lack of communication and the feeling that once you’re locked in, you’re on your own no matter what changes in your life. I tried to be upfront about our situation and ask for help, and instead I got a dead end and no response.

I would highly recommend you don’t waste your time and truly think wow I can only pay little fee and get three free nights in this nice place like we did then we called to schedule are free stay they told us nothing was available in the resort we got stay at lied to me said that it closed after hurricane just to put me in a another place the Bilmar let me tell u u might well sleep in the cheapest shitty place u can find not very nice at alll not even close to what we were supposed to stay at the island trade wind resort which is excellent by way so after looking at huge gap under door going outside of room we said we are not staying hear looked online amazing there was island trade wind resort called them booked room moved there so beware of blue green not only did I pay them 230 something for are free stay which I could not use I had to pay 158 at the bill mar Monday morning I will be filing and complaint and a law suit for not only my money paid but my stay fee for the swapping of hotel and they are on recording lying saying island trade winds was closed so please save your time and money scam

This company is a complete scam I paid with a debit card I was not asked to have credit card at all and this company took my money then a week before my trip call me to check my FICO score and ask me if I had a credit card! This is the definition of a scam receiving money first then later asking if a person qualifies

Frustrating and Limited Options

I recently spoke with Christy from Bluegreen about my timeshare. They offered to pull back collection dues and let me use my points, essentially rolling my $4,400 debt into a payment plan with Bluegreen so I could vacation while paying it off. However, they made it clear that buying back or canceling my contract was never an option. My only route to exit was through a third-party resale company.

This was extremely frustrating, especially after leaving multiple messages about wanting to cancel and receiving no response. I felt misled during the sales process, pressured to sign, and confronted with hidden costs that were never disclosed. Repeated attempts to get clarity and assistance were ignored, leaving me stuck in a system that offers no reasonable solutions.

Bluegreen needs to provide transparent options and timely communication.

No day pass even though pool was empty

I gave 2 stars because I like the bluegreen properties, but the experience of dealing with trying to get a day pass has always been less than fun. In our 20 years of being owners, we have only been able to get a day pass once. We were at Harbour Lights in Myrtle Beach, walking around to try to find out where to ask for a day pass and saw one of their pools had NO guests using it, so we thought we would definitely get a day pass (as silver level owners at an empty pool). We were told "no" because the resort was at 90% occupancy (with a pool where NO guests were). Disappointing that common sense is not common.

Years of Struggle, No Real Help from Bluegreen

We've been trying to exit our Bluegreen timeshare since 2018 and have gotten nowhere. Despite repeated phone calls, emails, and even formal complaints, including one to the FTC, Bluegreen has offered no real solutions. They only responded after a letter of complaint, and even then "the help" was just a repeat of the same options with no new way out which are title transfer or resell through a third party company that is not guaranteed.

Our situation is serious, our family has undergone surgery and chemotherapy and we have dealt with over $10,000 in hurricane damage. The timeshare was sold as flexible and easy to use, but booking issues, limited availability, and a confusing system have made it impossible to enjoy. We tried negotiating a fair settlement, offering $5,600 when they asked for 50% of the balance but they rejected it outright.

Bluegreen's communication is hollow and unhelpful. They escalated our case only to tell us there is nothing new to offer. They don't listen to owners' real hardships, and it feels like they hope people will just give up. We simply want to be released from this contract, but Bluegreen keeps dragging it out with no empathy or clarity. Avoid this company if you value fairness and support.

Pushy and Ignore do not call lists

I was automatically connected to this company in 2024 after booking a hotel room. I humored the sales guy thinking that I would just not take the vacation and be fine, no they took $250 from my account and when I did not take a vacation with them it was not returned. I ate the loss because I was stupid enough to give them my credit card details. Now two years later they have called me 8 seperate times and counting trying to sell me more vacations. I am on the national do not call registry and I requested 4 times to be added to their local do not call list. Do not do business with this company.

A subscription to regret

I am finished. Dealing with Bluegreen has proven to be nothing more than constant pressure to upgrade. Nothing is ever available, yet their solution is always for me to spend more money. They clearly don’t care about your age, your health, or your financial situation once they have your signature.

When we tried to cancel, the only “help” we got was being asked if we were working with a third party or to resell it myself. They know exactly what the market looks like…there isn't one. It’s a total complete nonsense. I’m not paying Blugreen another penny. I refuse to be stuck making payments until I'm 80 years old. Consider this a warning to anyone thinking of joining: stay far away unless you want a lifetime of bills and zero service.

Avoid Bluegreen Vacations as they are absolute masters of fraud and manipulation. We were lured in by a gift card and a tablet and then subjected to a grueling three hour high pressure sales pitch until we finally gave in just to get out of there. The entire time the sales staff swore up and down that this was not a timeshare. They called it a vacation package or owning part of a resort. We only realized we had been lied to when we started getting calls to upgrade and then received a renewal notice from Pinnacle Vacations. Pinnacle works with Bluegreen and they explicitly called it a timeshare in their mailer. They literally tricked us into buying more by promising they would sell our existing interest and help us out but that was just another lie.

We have reached our breaking point and have stopped all payments. The financial burden is far too much and the constant stress from their harassment has caused my high blood pressure to spike to dangerous levels. We have told Bluegreen repeatedly that unless they are calling to confirm the cancellation of our contract, then we do not wish to speak with them at all. We are done being treated unfairly in this cancellation process. Bluegreen and Pinnacle have been useless and have done nothing but take our money and been a thorn in our side. Do not trust this company because they will trap you in a fraudulent contract and ignore your health and well-being just to keep taking your money.

Broken system and zero availability

The sales team pushes package deals by claiming they offer more than enough points for regular vacations but the reality is that there is almost never any availability when you actually try to book. You end up paying significant monthly and yearly fees for a broken system that provides zero benefits. Even when trying to resolve issues directly with the company, their support is dismissive and offers no real solutions for those looking to walk away. Save yourself the financial stress and look elsewhere! Dealing with this since 2022

If I could give Bluegreen vacations…

If I could give Bluegreen vacations zero stars I would!! This company is awful. They lie and deceive you to the point they have you locked in for life paying maintenance fees. I have regretted every second that I have been sucked into this scam for 26 years. I have paid over $30k for 8000 points and only used this pathetic timeshare 6 times. Two years ago I stopped paying and I have ask for them to cancel and they refuse. They attempted to send me to collections and have continued to add finance charges to my outstanding balance. I have had multiple phone calls with their exit team and they are extremely difficult to deal with and never return voicemails or emails. I will never pay another cent to scam or a company!!

Completely done with this company

I regret ever purchasing this timeshare. This company operates on false promises and has failed to deliver on every commitment made during the sale. I feel exploited and am no longer willing to tolerate the financial and emotional strain this has placed on my family.

Be warned: they are dishonest and hypocritical. I have filed multiple complaints in the past, only to be dismissed or met with "binding contract" rhetoric. There has been no meaningful action to address my concerns.

I am finished. We are not paying another cent, and my mind will not be changed. Do not contact us unless it is to confirm our release from this contract. We want nothing more to do with you.

Be Wary!

My spouse and I are deeply frustrated with our experience with Bluegreen Vacation Club. What started as a "free" trip to Las Vegas turned into a high-pressure sales presentation lasting nearly four hours. We felt pressured into a contract under the impression that it would consolidate our memberships, but instead, we were left with separate accounts, additional costs, and a significant loan. As retirees, the $64,000 we have invested and the remaining $16,500 in debt have become a major financial strain. To make matters worse, Jennifer Shelton was not willing to help us when we reached out to address these discrepancies. We feel completely misled by the unfulfilled promises made during the sales process and regret the decision to sign. Not a good business to align yourself with at all.

Was at cabelas when approached asking…

Was at cabelas when approached asking if we liked vacations. We had out two young children with and was explained that this is a promotion they are doing $199 for a 3 night stay because bass pro shop bought out cabelas and they are trying to get people out to these locations. Never disclosed that it was a time share event and was only advertised as staying at a Hilton. So on my End I never even thought to ask if it was a time share. Felt like the girl could see I was very distracted and would be an easy sale. Which she got me. Thankfully I was able to cancel my stay and refunded but even when I called to make sure I could bring kids or if I would be charged if we couldn’t stay the whole time share talk no one could give a straight answer.
