its 1 as i can't give 0 , in newhaven 25/09/2026 i got stuck behind yk74 ### first of all on a mini roundabout for 7 minutes why the learner had not a clue of moving off when a gap arrived must of let a mile of cars and buses go before they moved off , moved off only to stop in a queue for the level crossing the barrier lifted great you would think , they stopped in the middle of the junction blocking the flow of traffic , and let all the car on the left file on to the road leaving them and us blocking the road , i know people have to learn to drive in all conditions , but to take a learner driver into rush hour traffic , just shows how stupid the instructor is ,and what poor judgement they have

Instructor (Kevin Wilkes) was great, he never once cancelled a lesson and always arrived on time, was very patient and has made me a very confident driver.

Booked driving lessons as a block…
Booked driving lessons as a block booking as I thought they are a large and known driving school.Payment was made online as part of application using my home address (pick up/drop off) on Bill Plant web site. Driving instructor arrived for first lesson. After 2 hour lesson, dropped off at home address but dropped a 'bombshell' and said that for other lessons he will pick me up from local driving test centre (possibly 45minutes each way- 90 minutes travel to meet him for each lesson. I complained to Bill Plants as I SHOULD have been informed this requirement before booking. This now left me with time-loss to find another school and start again with another instructor/school. After a week of calls and emails, refund was made. But £10 booking fee charged and the instructor charged me full hourly rate. I was out of pocket without my fault. No goodwill was exercised for their fault. There was only one loser (ME). Bill Plant wins (£10 booking Fee), Driving Instructor Wins (£82 -2hr lesson). Not a happy experience and I advise to be prudent and ask at front as they do not tell you until you depart with your money and in their mercy.

Izzy is quite literally the best driving instructor i have ever had the pleasure of learning from, aside from the occasional dad jokes😂, she helps with every problem that you may have on the road and will make sure you are fully confident in your skills. I really cant recommend her enough. Check her out on TikTok( Izzy to pass).

Great instructor
Adam was a great instructor and made sure to cover everything needed for the driving test and more. He was supportive and made me feel comfortable and assured when driving, while also making sure I had plenty of practice to correct any mistakes. I would definitely recommend him to anyone learning to drive - as someone who was quite anxious to start learning, he helped me pass first time!

Unprofessional and Zero Accountability
I would not recommend Bill Plant Driving School. My experience with the driving instructor led me to write a formal email of complaint to Bill Plant Company, because of his behaviour which broke multiple driving instructor codes of conduct (stated on the Gov.uk website). This was met with long replies, no accountability from the customer service team and zero understanding about why I requested a refund. Details of my experience can be read below. I sincerely hope Bill Plant Driving School reads this review and makes changes to ensure safe and legal measures with their driving instructors, and accountability with their customer service team.
I paid £369.99 for 10 hours of lessons.
During all of my lessons, my instructor watched TikToks on his phone. It is illegal for a driving instructor to use their phone, as stated on the Gov.uk website.
He would initiate conversations about his private life and ask me questions about my own. He often used inappropriate language and would swear during my lessons. All of this would happen as I was driving, and my learning and driving technique wasn’t prioritised. During ten hours of lessons, we hardly covered any driving manoeuvres, despite my requesting to; instead, on multiple occasions, my instructor would get me to drive to a shop so he could buy an energy drink, leaving me unattended in the car.
He also never recorded my progress or lessons on the Bill Plant app, and when I told him of the trouble I had using the app, due to its poor user interface, he did nothing to record my progress another way. I still have no record of what I’ve been taught to pass on to my next driving instructor.
The most distressing part of his behaviour, however, was in my final lesson, when he offered to get me illegal drugs. He asked if I ‘party’ and then offered to ‘get me the good stuff’ from a weed dealer he said he knew. He then asked for a smoke break during my one-hour lesson, and instead of driving me back to my flat, he ended the lesson in an Aldi car park where we’d been practising reverse bay parking for an hour. I was left to walk home.
His behaviour of offering to get me drugs is not only illegal but also made me feel incredibly uncomfortable and angry. I paid a lot of money for a service that has not been fulfilled, creating a serious financial loss for me.
After reporting this behaviour and requesting a refund under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, it took weeks for a reply and after sending a further physical letter of complaint to the head office, which is still unanswered, I requested a refund on the app which stated I still had 10 hours of lessons left. After three months of chasing up my refund request I finally got through to a member of the customer service team who stated Bill Plant Driving School “facilitate payments for self employed driving instructors”, therefore are not able to give out refunds for lessons taken. Despite being in breach of the Consumer Rights Act and my experience having broken multiple code of conduct laws, I have still not received any compensation for my experience with Bill Plant.
Please be aware your money is going through a third party company that is not interested in your driving ability, they are simply there to gain income. Please also be aware my review is in no way reflective of my driving ability as I have since passed my test first time after only six hours with a different driving instructor, with only five minors on my test. It must be said my new driving instructor was shocked at my driving standard after 10 lessons with Bill Plant and it is only because of her hard work and dedication to me passing that I now have my licence. No thanks to Bill Plant. Do not waste your time or money.

Lanre is the way to go
If you are searching for an instructor in the Telford / Wolverhampton area, go with Lanre! You won’t find a more calm, composed and knowledgeable instructor. During my lessons there was not a single stressful moment with Lanre, his calming demeanor kept me feeling comfortable and at ease even in my very first lesson.
From lesson 1 until the day I passed, it was around 6 months, if it wasn’t for booked up test slots, with Lanre’s knowledge I would have easily been ready in around 4, the confidence he brings out of you is incredible.
Thank you so much Lanre! Not one lesson felt like a chore, but a fun experience to look forward too each week

Theresa Weller is amazing!
I cannot begin to explain how much Theresa Weller helped me pass my test, So caring and compassionate and understanding. She always made me feel comfortable and confident even when struggling with something at home. She always believed in me. She always remained so positive when when I was stressing myself out over something so small! I genuinely cannot thank her enough for the time and support and empathy given at times when needed, always putting her clients first.
Im beyond grateful I was able to have Theresa as my instructor and cannot recommend her enough to everyone! I couldn't have done it without her!

I passed my driving test as of this morning, I went with Chris Hall and I can honestly say he is the best. I had an instructor before him and I felt as if I was going nowhere, when I switched to Chris I felt like I had learnt more in two lessons than I had with this other one in 6 months. Chris is so comfortable to be around and is always a laugh. Would definitely recommend!!

Great Driving Instructor
I had Rehman 'Ram' Khan as my driving instructor and he made my learning experience fantastic. His positivity was great - always managed to get through my thick negative skull & his encouragement really meant the world.
He had a great level of patience, often having to repeat things with me, but it absolutely paid off!! Thanks to Ram, I passed my driving test 1st time & he's made me feel confident & ready for tackling driving by myself.

Absolute joke of a driving school
Absolute joke of a driving school. Paid £445 for a block of lessons. Told instructor what my hours i worked were and he got back to me a couple of days later saying the only time he could fit me in was when I was working. Said I would start a refund which took me nearly 3 MONTHS to get my money back. Help centre hours are 10-1 each day so you only have a small window to get hold of someone. First few times I selected existing customer then refund option, I was on hold for over 30 minutes each time. I then had the idea of selecting new customer option and got through straight away but for several weeks they were absolutely no help. Was nearly on the verge of reporting them to trading standards but I phoned one more time and they told me that they had finally received my money back off the instructor and would get it in 5-10 working days. As I said, this took nearly 3 months and a while lot of stress to get sorted. Would not recommend this school to my worse enemy. Annoyed that I had to give them 1 star as they don't deserve it. AVOID

Amazing- highly recommend!
I have recently had some refresher lessons with Mohammed Bashir after 3 years of not driving after passing my test and could not recommend him more!! Before my refresher lessons I was very anxious and unsure but Mohammed’s structured approach was very helpful. Previously I struggled a lot with roundabouts however after just one lesson focused on roundabouts I immediately felt more confident. Whether you’re just starting out or need some refreshing like me I’d highly recommend!

Paul Ibbotson fantastic instructor!
My driving instructor, Paul Ibbotson, was fantastic! He was incredibly patient and positive throughout my lessons. I first came to Paul with very low confidence in my driving abilities and I really didn’t enjoy driving. However, by the end, I was looking forward to our weekly lessons, and my confidence behind the wheel had grown massively, resulting in a first time pass with no minors! I couldn’t recommend Paul highly enough!
