I honestly couldn’t recommend my driving instructor, Courtney Gubbins, enough! She was absolutely amazing from start to finish — patient, supportive and always made me feel confident behind the wheel.

Thanks to her encouragement and expertise, I passed my driving test first time with only 3 minor faults! I absolutely could not have done it without her. She always knew exactly what I needed to work on and helped me turn things I struggled with into strengths.

I’m so grateful for all her help and support throughout my lessons. If you’re looking for a driving instructor who genuinely cares about helping you succeed, who creates a safe, comfortable, friendly space, then I couldn’t recommend her enough ♡

When I first started learning, I didn’t even know how to drive, and I’ve been learning with Izzy for quite a while. She has been so patient, supportive and encouraging throughout my whole journey. Just witnessed the most dangerous driving on the roundabout near the bus station. Almost caught us in an accident multiple times in a row. First by stopping abruptly and almost having the bus rear end you, then being unable to move off properly constantly stopping and then cutting off the bus turning. Absolutely poor conduct on the instructors part. I understand learners being imperfect and unpracticed, but this was beyond dangerous.

I have just passed driving test my instructor was sidel pandy from plymouth i totaly recommend him hes straight to the point will pick you up on mistakes to improve your chances thankyou sidel

I had such a good experience learning to drive with Paul Ibbotson!! He was incredibly patient, supportive and always made me feel comfortable in the car. Every lesson felt enjoyable rather than stressful and I passed with only 2 minors, my first time round. I’m so pleased and relieved, thank you Paul!

Recently booked a block of lessons for my daughter, paid on the phone that day. Was told instructor would call me in 48hours to arrange time/date etc.

10 days later, I called bill plant to ask why I hadn’t heard from instructor yet….. they were nothing but unhelpful and rude.

When I asked, the lady on the phone said and I quote “well he’s only human” ….. I was rather shocked by her lazy attitude, she stated, “we haven’t heard from the instructor either” “tell you what call us back tomorrow if you’ve still not heard”

I said excuse me, you want me to chase up? I’ve paid for a service and think you should be far more helpful and obliging.

The woman on the phone didn’t care much about customer service or the fact that I was a customer of bill plant, it was s a case of my money had been paid so the niceties have dropped.

I’ve heard similar stories like this since, customer service complains and also lazy instructors.
I’ve asked for money back.

I was taught by Zubair Hussain and couldn’t recommend him enough to anyone wanting to learn to drive. He helped build my confidence by pushing me beyond what i thought i could do, and i passed my test with just 3 months of practice with him. A very friendly instructor, props to him.

My experience with Bill Plant driving school was incredible! My instructor Deepak was the kindest, most patient and understanding instructor I could have ever asked for. Driving with him came so naturally to the point where I would look forward to each lesson as it came. We always have a craic whilst driving and never failed to make me laugh, he helped me overcome my anxiety about driving completely. And I can honestly say I owe it all to Dee, because of him I became a confident, safe and secure driver and I couldn’t have done it without him. Thank you Dee and thank you Bill Plant for changing my life for the better!

Haider was my instructor for my test at the Bury test centre, we did 20 total hours training and I cannot fault a single one. He was understanding and lovely throughout the process. I managed to pass first time thanks to his instruction.

Rayan is extremely patient and effective, always explaining things clearly and making sure I understood what I was doing before moving on. The lessons were also enjoyable, with great conversation that helped me feel relaxed and comfortable behind the wheel. I can’t recommend him enough to anyone looking for a patient, calm and confident-boosting instructor.

I passed my driving test today, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience I had throughout my entire learning journey with Darren.

Darren is an excellent driving instructor who genuinely puts a lot of effort into helping his students improve. He quickly understood the areas where I was lacking and worked patiently with me to improve them. He didn’t just focus on getting me ready to pass the test; he helped me become a safer and more confident driver overall.

He also helped me mentally prepare for the test, which made a huge difference. His patience, encouragement, knowledge and dedication really stood out throughout my lessons.

I’m genuinely grateful for all the effort Darren put into helping me achieve my goal of passing my test. If you’re looking for a driving instructor, I would highly recommend Darren without any hesitation.

I passed my driving test with Lanre.At first, I was so nervous before, but I had the best experience. Lanre was so professional, calm and patient with me and explained everything clearly. Thanks to Lanre I built real confidence behind the wheel and passed my test. I’m so grateful .I would highly recommend Lanre as your instructor.

Honestly can’t thank Olanrewaju enough for how much he has helped me to pass my driving test!! Always been there for me and taught me in the way I needed best. Will forever be grateful!!

Excellent service in every way. I was taught by Wayne Thomas and I can't thank him enough. He was always reliable and friendly, making the whole process smoother and more relaxed. I have an awkward schedule but he was happy to work around it. He would take time to properly analyse and talk through issues when they arose to ensure that I understood my mistakes, why they happened and how deal with similar situations in the future. I would happily recommend him to anyone looking for a driving instructor.

I had Alam Hrncic and Jet they were both amazing, i’ve just smashed my test after only a few lessons with him and a few with her. 10 star rating id definitely recommend

I can't recommend Dee enough to anyone looking to learn how to drive. He is patient, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. He made the experience stress free and enjoyable

its 1 as i can't give 0 , in newhaven 25/09/2026 i got stuck behind yk74 ### first of all on a mini roundabout for 7 minutes why the learner had not a clue of moving off when a gap arrived must of let a mile of cars and buses go before they moved off , moved off only to stop in a queue for the level crossing the barrier lifted great you would think , they stopped in the middle of the junction blocking the flow of traffic , and let all the car on the left file on to the road leaving them and us blocking the road , i know people have to learn to drive in all conditions , but to take a learner driver into rush hour traffic , just shows how stupid the instructor is ,and what poor judgement they have

Had 1 lesson with lisa D was informative lesson .she was aware of dvsa system error failed to tell me that she was unable to check .and failed to send me a simple text to tell me lesson was cancelled .very mixed messages from this lady .

Instructor (Kevin Wilkes) was great, he never once cancelled a lesson and always arrived on time, was very patient and has made me a very confident driver.

Booked driving lessons as a block booking as I thought they are a large and known driving school.Payment was made online as part of application using my home address (pick up/drop off) on Bill Plant web site. Driving instructor arrived for first lesson. After 2 hour lesson, dropped off at home address but dropped a 'bombshell' and said that for other lessons he will pick me up from local driving test centre (possibly 45minutes each way- 90 minutes travel to meet him for each lesson. I complained to Bill Plants as I SHOULD have been informed this requirement before booking. This now left me with time-loss to find another school and start again with another instructor/school. After a week of calls and emails, refund was made. But £10 booking fee charged and the instructor charged me full hourly rate. I was out of pocket without my fault. No goodwill was exercised for their fault. There was only one loser (ME). Bill Plant wins (£10 booking Fee), Driving Instructor Wins (£82 -2hr lesson). Not a happy experience and I advise to be prudent and ask at front as they do not tell you until you depart with your money and in their mercy.
