Movers came late and then attempted to charge me fees that Belmont said subcontractors explicitly didn't charge. It got to the point that the movers asked for payment in cash up front before they started to move.

Beyond having to pay DOUBLE the estimated price for the move (6500$), this experience has been harrowing. Additionally, our belongings came late and damaged.

For the love of all that is holy, AVOID BELMONT MOVING & STORAGE.

Edit - This is the company based in Florida. There is more than one Belmont.

Here’s the problem - they subcontract out to people who subcontract out and the contract you sign with Belmont says they aren’t responsible - I didn’t read the fine print.
Took a month to get my stuff. A box was missing and I ended up with two table tops that weren’t mine. Boxes were crushed and some items were damaged or discolored by sitting in a very hot warehouse in Dallas for the month. I regret my choice.

This company is a joke. They quote you low then when they get there they add another $1000 on top of it! I was first told it would take 14 days, but when the guys got there I figured I would just ask. The men told me more like 7-8 days. That time passes and I call and she tells me “5-7 more days”(this was on May 23rd) I told her the men told me 7-8 days from date of pick up(May 14th) she said “oh they don’t know what they are talking about”
Those 7 days come and I call and was told the truck broke down and it would be ANOTHER 5-7 days. No one ever called to tell me the truck was having issues. Another 7 days rolls by and I call my original guy Waylon and he told me “ oh no I have you down for June the 7th”
The 8th rolls around and I call and she told me either the 11th-12th. It finally showed up on Monday the 13th so a full month later. They lost some of my boxes, damaged about 6 boxes and broke some stuff. I also got something from another customer. I tried to call Waylon twice and he never called me back.

By far the worst experience I’ve ever had with a moving company. I was completely conned by a gentleman named nick rose. Nick not only lied abt giving a realistic sq footage, but also abt time of delivery and claiming to “always answer his cell phone.” The inventory had been verified 3 different times prior to movers showing up, guess what…when the movers showed up, they said I needed almost twice the sq footage. I refused to be bullied into paying almost double the price and Belmont moving refuses to refund my deposit due to their incompetence of their employee “nick rose .” This company is completely unreptable and I pity anyone using them, my advice would be to run. After reviewing the initial deposit contract closer I also realized nick had done even better than I originally thought by telling me that deposit has to be paid by ACH, although the contract states credit card, cashiers check, amongst other options. The reasoning for this is so that they can steal your money being that the charges aren’t “disputable” because you paid by ACH. I assume they run business like this consistently and people just give up and take the loss, but not this guy, they’ll be hearing from me in small claims court.

This company is a bait and switch fraud!
They will initially give you low estimates and suddenly increase it a day before the move. They give contract to 3rd party drivers that suck and does extremely unprofessional job. I beg you and request you not to go with this company! Please reach out to my email if you want more proof.
