Needed an Adjustable Bed and mattress for my elderly Mother who lives in Leicester and was coming out of hospital at short notice. Tried a couple of the big name national chains in Cambridge expecting to find something suitable and have it delivered in a couple of days but both had lead times of 3 weeks or more. On the off chance, tried Belfast Beds, found something suitable but lead times were 1-2 weeks. So they offered to sell us the floor model (at a discount) along with a new mattress and delivered it to Leicester within 2 working days. Would have been sooner if the van/driver hadn't already been booked. It was eventually delivered by Jack, one of the co-owners himself (because the regular van driver had called in sick with a football injury that day). When he arrived, he couldn't have been more helpful setting-up the adjustable bed in an upstairs bedroom, delivering another mattress to a separate bedroom and even taking away an extra single bed that my mother decided she no longer wanted at the last minute. Exceeded all my expectations for a small local company when called on to do something out of the ordinary.

Excellent service

We visited the shop on the morning of 12th June 2025. Their service levels were very friendly and first class. We explained that as our new bed frame was arriving next day from a different company that it would be great to get the new mattress as soon as possible, but accepeted this might take maybe a week to achieve. Well within an hour of our visit they delivered the new mattress. Excellent service all round. Well done all the Belfast team

Buying a bed and mattress from Belfast Beds was fantastic: the store was empty when we walked in so I was worried we'd be pounced on by a salesperson, but Josh welcomed us in and otherwise left us to walk around. It was only after we'd done a lap of the store that he asked what we were looking for, then took us to the beds that fitted our requirements. He left us to try a few beds before approaching us again to answer some questions we had and then confirm the price of the bed and mattress we were interested in. Again he left us for a short while to decide on what to buy and then when we were ready he rung us up very quickly. So throughout it all we didn't feel pressurised to make a decision, or hounded to buy something we didn't want, I wish all trips to bed stores were this pleasant and stress-free!

The bed itself was delivered a couple of weeks later as planned, the deliverymen were great and handled a tight staircase well! The ottoman bed and king size mattress are in perfect condition and we've had some fantastic nights sleep on them so far.

Just over 5 years ago (and hence just out of warranty) I purchased a single bed, with trundle bed underneath, with headboard, from Belfast Beds Superstore in Cambridge. In order to be sure the upper mattress was of higher quality, I paid extra to upgrade one mattress. Being in a spare bedroom, the bed has been used only sporadically, such that total usage of the ownership period is of order 6 months. Nevertheless, the mattress has suddenly "broken" with a large gouge running longways down the centre, making it unusable. The mattress is a "Hush-a-Bye Options Pocket". I wrote to Belfast Beds on 3 March asking for a replacement, but received no response, not even an acknowledgement, hence this posting. I note that other reasonably-priced mattresses now have as much as a 15 year guarantee from other sources. I therefore recommend against buying a bed from Belfast Beds.
UPDATE 27 March 2025:
Belfast Beds eventually contacted me citing"email problems". They were helpful and approached Hushabye beds, who declined to help. Belfast Beds then offered me a 30% discount on a new purchase, which I will look into, making sure to compare their options carefully against online deals for mattresses with much longer guarantees, and good customer reviews. Be warned!

So refreshing to deal with a family business with personal service. It is well worth seeking out this store, tucked away in an industrial estate but with a fantastic selection of beds with good prices.
