This camp site had it all, I travelled solo and had Gatekeepers field and facilities to myself. Beautifully laid out with everything I needed. Especially loved the walk in wooden shower hut with a wee window and lots of hot water. Very peaceful and good location for the coast and the many walks and small villages nearby. Would 100% recommend.

We came once early in the summer and immediately came back three more times, that's how lovely it is. You get a whole field to yourself, your own facilities including a shower and toilet and a cute little sink or even a full kitchen area in the one we stayed in. You get to enjoy a nature reserve with peace and solitude but with hygiene facilities too. There is even a nice brick building to relax in where you can use a fridge and freezer, leave things in a locked charging cupboard and even use their little library, with lots of toys for kids. We loved it, thanks.

This is a lovely peaceful site to return to after a busy day out exploring. We have been several times now and will no doubt return again.
We stayed in Gatekeeper, which has a huge area to pitch on and an even bigger area of wild meadow and tree saplings. The shower is lovely and warm and the compost loo and washing up areas are spotlessly clean. We love the privacy of having a whole field and facilities to ourselves. Just a short stroll up the lane is a really handy charging locker, along with a fridge/freezer and books/toys/beach equipment to borrow.
We saw lots of bats, heard the owls every night and were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of one swoop over the trees one evening. On clear nights the stargazing is amazing too.
The owners are friendly and welcoming and even came to our rescue when we had car problems on our final day. We came home recharged and happy :)

We spent 3 wonderful days at Bakesdown just relaxing. Even the compost loo and shower (which are also all your own) are beautiful.
Anna introduced us to the finer points when we arrived then left us alone. Just perfect. We will most certainly be back at the earliest opportunity.

Great campsite, we have been here a number of times across the last 10yrs+. It’s so lovely and quiet with great facilities and close to lots of things to see.

The wildlife is great, we spotted birds and bats, and listened to owls every night. The shooting stars on the clear night were the best I have ever seen. We will be back again!

This campsite has been our top UK destination for many years now. I can’t imagine finding anywhere to beat it. The private spots, with our own beautiful private field; the peace; the fire pits and bbqs; the private showers with hot water; the proximity to Bude with its beautiful beaches, cliff walks, pasties and ice creams. Our kids love it, we love it and it holds many special memories for us now. I honestly have never found any negatives with Bakesdown Farm!

This was our second stay at Bakesdown, and we loved every minute of our two week stay. We were blessed with amazing weather, and the beautiful trees and hedgerows provided natural shade and privacy after long days in the sun. The facilities were clean and well maintained, and Anna was a wonderful host once again. Every activity and amenity you could possibly want are just a short drive away.

The most beautiful space. It felt so private and the compost toilet and separate shower cubicle were a real luxury whilst being out in the nature. Absolutely no road noise or distant traffic sounds. Just a few metres down the road is the hosts farm where they have fridge and freezer space should you need it. We loved it and would definitely go again!

This is one of the best campsites I've ever been to. So spacious, its like you are wild camping. But with all the facilities you need, charging point, private kitchen area and the most wonderful private hot showers. I hope to come back!

A beautiful farm with stunning camping areas and excellent facilities, hosted by our saviour Anna! We had a calamitous start to our two night trip but Anna could not have been more accommodating and helpful. Crisis resolved after a long recovery trip and we got to spend two lovely night in Gatekeeper. So beautiful a setting to camp, cook over the open fire and have some family fun

What a find! An inspirational rewilding project, and really lovely spaces for people to be amongst it. We loved being immersed in the wonderful wild meadow, watching the birds and wandering down through the woodland to our beautiful pitch. We loved having our own (excellent) facilities, space and privacy, and we felt so lucky to be there. On our pitch the kitchen, shower and loo were all great with lots of thoughtful touches and there was a brilliant room at the farmyard with charging lockers, freezer, fridge, logs, charcoal, children's toys etc.

I’ve been camping for 40 years and this campsite ranks amongst my very favourite. Incredibly peaceful and just love what the owners are doing to respect nature and tread lightly. I’ll be back.

Amazing little campsite, completely private and very peaceful. The compost toilet and hot showers were great, as were the provided firepit and seats - perfect to relax in the evenings and watch the sunset. I'd 100% recommend will hopefully be back again soon!

Quite simply one of the most beautiful campsites I’ve ever stayed on. Super flat pitch on a gorgeous rewilded field, private hot gas shower and composting toilet (no smell, it’s great), big firepit and even a table and chairs to sit and eat and enjoy the sunset. Total privacy and peace and quiet - nothing but birdsong, lambs bleating and insects buzzing around the wildflowers. Anna and Brad were such friendly and helpful hosts, and they have created a little semi-wild heaven with these three pitches (we stayed on Gatekeeper) - staying here feels genuinely good for the soul. We’re coming back here as soon as we can!

Wow, what a site. Brimstone was absolutely perfect for our camper van stay. Just to stroll through the mown paths, watch the birds and listen to their singing, admire the views, relax - the antidote for all stresses. The facilities were spotless and so well thought out. We have already booked our next visit.

I love this place. It’s the best place to relax and recuperate in nature. Anna is welcoming and I keep coming back which is the best recommendation I can make… till the next time

A really lovely little campsite, close to everything you need. Private, spacious pitches with beautifully clean and well maintained facilities. Anna was a great host, popping in to check everything was ok. Loved it so much we’ve already booked again for next year.
