Fantastic service from start to finish with Arc consultants. Alaur was a breath of fresh air, delivered on everything he said he would and even sooner than the agreed timescales. He was on hand to discuss and explain feedback from our homebuyers survey and was clear and honest at all times. The survey itself felt very thorough and comprehensive with clear descriptions and photographs of the property that clearly evidenced his report. The price we paid for the survey was also very competitive. I'd recommend Arc to anyone!

If, like me, you have come to Trustpilot to check you've picked the right surveying company, look no further.

Firstly, ARC were the ONLY company who didn't incessantly hound my phone trying to get me to sign up. Massive GREEN flag. I got a wonderful email from Alaur, explaining what he does, what I'd receive and what the cost would be. What he did not make clear was just how far above and beyond he would go.

Alaur spent well over an hour just explaining to me what things meant in a Level 2 survey request. His confidence and evident knowledge set us at such ease, that we knew wherever we purchased - we would be hiring him. We spoke about the house we'd initially looked to buy, with his advice in part the reason we did not got ahead. This was BEFORE we'd instructed him, or paid a penny. Alaur seemed to just respond to our lack-of-knowledge with support like a Father. He identified red flags before we even got to instructing a solicitor and likely saved us hundreds if not thousands of pounds with no guarantee of a contract with us. He simply gave advice.

The house we have gone with, which is a beautiful place in South Derbyshire, was out of his catchment. However, he very kindly agreed to visit and complete the survey and charged us only a minimal contribution to his fuel. We received a phone call immediately afterwards with the "green light", he spoke through what he'd found and what his professional assessment was. Within 24 hours, we had the full report. It was detailed to an incredible level, highlighting in a traffic light system issues needing prompt attention to areas which had been assessed, and were of no concern. There was ongoing advice about house maintenance and care which we did not expect and will be utterly invaluable.

The support did not stop there. Alaur read and re-drafted various correspondence between us and the vendor to highlight areas which needed re-negotiation. He checked in to see how things were, and offered follow up videocalls if we had questions about the report in the future. See what I mean? OVER and ABOVE.

We are first time buyers, in a world entirely alien to us. Alaur made this part of the journey easy, smooth and understandable without making us feel like we were being stupid for asking millions of questions. He has been an incredible support and guide and we truly hope that this review gives you the confidence to reach out to him. If we ever move again, or hear of people moving in/around Leicestershire, we will be directing them to Alaur with every confidence they will receive the dedication we have. All at an exceptionally reasonable price for all that we received.

I had a RICS Level 2 survey completed by Alaur on Friday, and I cannot recommend him and ARC Consultants enough.

Despite the survey being done on a weekday, Alaur called me on a Sunday to spend over an hour going through the findings in incredible detail. He was very in-depth and didn't rush at all, which was so supportive. His findings gave us the exact basis for our legal and estate agent enquiries; without his help, I would have had no clue what to ask for.

The report identified specific defects—such as necessary repairs —that the current owner has now agreed to address. These repairs roughly equal the cost of the survey itself, so it’s essentially paid for itself!

Beyond just the immediate purchase, Alaur was super helpful in discussing issues that could arise in the future. He made friendly recommendations for prevention in a completely non-sales pitch way.

If you are a first-time buyer, Alaur is the person you want in your corner. Truly a great man and beyond helpful!

From the get-go, I appreciated his honesty and the fact that he didn’t want to upsell us, assuring us that a level 2 survey was all we needed. Whilst other surveyors also had good reviews, it was Alaur’s honesty and integrity that made me choose him after our first phone call.

He turned in a 100+ page document the day after completing the survey. It was detailed, insightful, and he even ran through the report over a phone call to summarise it before sending it to us. We contacted ARC Consultants, on recommendation by our estate agents, and after receiving a competitive quote for a ‘Level 2’ homebuyer survey, Alaur quickly fixed an appointment with the seller and conducted the survey. The survey itself was very thorough and highlighted some minor issues which the seller rectified, which in turn gave us confidence to proceed with the house purchase.
