Great tool to understand the valuation of a company. Understand the value that we get with respect to the stock price. For good companies its easy to set notifications when it reaches a desired price, when fundamentals are intact its great way to get more value for your money.

I’ve been investing for 15 years and have been self-taught the entire time. I’ve consumed more than 100 books and more than 50 academic papers as well as testing more than 100 apps for financial information or investment ideas. And down one of the most indispensable tools I have found and the information that’s available. Free of charge is mine blowing. It’s genuinely an legitimately priceless.

Intrinsic value trap

Today 29th July 2026, just in less than a week, without any earning report and with good fundamental evaluation reports of the company, the base case intrinsics value of MU changed from ~$985 to ~$550 while I had planned my investments for months on MU according to the alpha spread intrinsic value calculation data. It was based on their DCF and relative valuation. The best case was showing over $7000 valuation per share, but in a day after the stock plunged to $700/share the alpha spread changed the information to $1200! After the stock price drop!

All fake, all scam!

It is a scam! People count on their information derived from the company earning and profit. The company beat its revenue and earning expectations at the latest quarterly report.

Thank you for raising this concern. We understand why such a significant change in MU’s valuation, without a new earnings report, could appear confusing.

The change was caused by the platform-wide valuation methodology upgrade released on July 29. We rebuilt our DCF models and changed how the primary Intrinsic Value method is selected for each company. It was not an adjustment made in response to MU’s share-price decline.

The timing of the two events may make them appear connected, but MU’s July 29 market price was not used in the methodology selection. The current share price also does not determine the DCF value; it is used only to calculate the displayed overvaluation or undervaluation percentage.

We announced the upgrade by email before the release and displayed an in-product notice at launch. However, we could have communicated the reason for the change more clearly on the valuation page itself. A user seeing a substantially different number should not have to determine whether it resulted from new company data or a methodology update.

To prevent similar misunderstandings, we will add a persistent notice alongside affected valuations explaining that they were recalculated because of a methodology upgrade rather than a new company report.

It is also important to clarify what Intrinsic Value represents. It is not possible to know a company’s exact intrinsic value as a single objectively correct number because it depends on uncertain future revenue, margins, cash flows, discount rates, and terminal assumptions.

Intrinsic Value should therefore be considered as a range of possible outcomes, not a precise price target. Bear, base, and bull cases represent different sets of assumptions, and investment decisions should consider the probability of each scenario rather than rely on any one number as a certainty. The previous bull case was an optimistic scenario under the former model, not a prediction that MU shares would reach that price.

Alpha Spread’s DCF remains fully transparent. The forecast, margins, cash-flow conversion, discount rate, terminal value, and per-share calculation can all be reviewed on the MU DCF Valuation page.

A backtest cannot make any individual valuation exact or guarantee future returns, but it provides a transparent and evidence-based way to evaluate the methodology over time.

Alphaspread is essential

Alphaspread is essential. I use it in addition to my trader plus platform for a different deep dive, to get to know a stock value and make me feel more knowledgeable about my stocks. Their grafts are great for looking at financial information,I don’t have to go through SEC 10-K. I wouldn’t ever want to make a move without alphaspread research first. A real time saver
